ECZenith
Absolutely awesome! I've never been this excited over a wooden coaster, once again you surprise us SFGADV!
CoasterEricHP
Wow! El Toro looks awesome!! So does the Voyage!! Why is everyone trying to make one "seem" better than the other because they are BOTH going to be amazing coasters. I'm more worried right now about finding time to get to both of these parks! But WOW.. does any park come close to having the amount of different coaster types that SFGAdv has? Strata, Hyper, Giga, Flying, Dark, Inverted, Wooden Out and Back Air Time Machine/Twister'ish thing with El Toro, "Racing", Mine train, Looper, launched, Floorless... etc.. thats insane if you ask me! Plus, they dont slack off that much with theming, they dont use Vekoma, and they make sure that the parking lots are at least 50 feet away . With a very decent looking wooden coaster I definately think SFGadv has one of the best (if not THE best) overall lineup in the world.. even better than Cedar Point.. *IMO*. Now all they have to do is get the operations aspect down which I hear is so bad.. however when I was there a few years ago during NITRO's first year I was actually blown away by the op's who were doing a really good job and even having fun with people in a good.. not SFA way Eric "who will once again buy a cheap SFA season pass and abuse it!" ParkTrips
I do want to point out that they don't always avoid the parking lots by 50 feet (look at Superman ) I hope my post wasn't misconstrued to be "Voyage hating" as I am very much looking forward to that ride and will more than likely ride it next year whereas Toro is up in the air. I think all three new woodies are going to be very different and hopefully all of them will be excellent.
tngdiablo
At least there is grass on the field, so play ball! They were at least nice enough to put some grass under Superman unlike with Scream!.
DragonKhan
With El Toro you get the modern smooth Hybrid, most likely packed with steep drops Well, duh Isn't comparison part of what makes things interesting a fun though? You know that after people ride them they will be comparing, placing things into their Top whatever lists. It's fun, yeah, when you can actually do it! When you ride one, you'll know why. I always had trouble putting Balder and Colossos in my "woodie ranks". Not because they're bad, no, it's just hard to fit them in. That's why most the time I just say they are a "very honorable mention"... It's not gonna change with El Toro. But I'm still excited! Especially since it appears to offer just what I missed on Balder and Colossos.
ebl
SFGAd is lucky to have enough room to put in all of these rides. SFMM is landlocked and couldn't even consider anything like this. I do like how both of SFGAd's woodies intertwine with each other. What concerns me is the fact that this is a large woodie, which, as we've seen with Son of Beast, Rattler, Hercules, etc. doesn't always work out. But being an Intamin plug-n-play, I hope things work out better. And I hope Six Flags takes care of this one. Eric
GAcoaster
I just got word from someone at the press conference that El Toro will utilize a cable lift (which will be very fast) and magnetic brakes. This just keeps getting better and better!!! Add to that SWAT is supposed to be coming from SFAW as part of the re-theme to the section and SFGAdv is gonna be an even more amazing park next year. robbalvey
^ If that's all true, that would be pretty nice! --Robb "SFGadv getting SWAT might make up for all the flats they've been removing for the past 5 years!" Alvey
Hercules
No way?! SWAT?! It just keeps getting better and better. It looks like I'll be riding a Sky Swatter next year too. How sweat it is I don't know if anything could replace Evolution though. Oh wait, they never had it up and running

SonOfBeastSucks
My only complaint is short legnth of the ride, but other than that I think it looks absolutley wonderful. I have plans to visit the park next year for the first time. Mayby I will choose this for #100? Looking forward to next year!
rollermonkey
El Toro gathered up Rolling Thunder in it's arms and prepared to make sweet love. Chris B

I have plans to visit the park next year for the first time. Mayby I will choose this for #100? Looking forward to next year! That was kind of my initial reaction too, but then I realized it still is in the top 20 'longest wood coasters' in the world, and I think in the top 15 in the US. It's longer than SFMM's Colossus, Timber Wolf, Tonnerre De Zeus, Legend, Villain, Twister, etc, and I consider those all pretty long rides. And it's only 9 feet shorter than Heide Park's Colossos and that also seems like a decent length ride to me too. There is a certain argument to "longer isn't always better...." as proven by the top five "longest coasters in the world" Daidarasaurus, Ultimate, Beast, Son of Beast, Fujiyama. --Robb
SonOfBeastSucks
^ I think the legnth of Villain and Legend are quite acceptable, so I shouldn't have a problem with it!
peteb
I remember when Phoenix was being re-assembled at Knoebels looking at the specs ( 72 foot first drop? 3200 feet of track? 45mph max ? big deal) and not being impressed. I'll never judge a coaster by the specs again.

But it won't seem as nearly as long as the Voyage will do - sometimes size matters, but it what's you do with it that counts. What I always say is if it's too short, ride it again. MagnumForce
To this day I am absolutely amazed that Cornball is as amazing as it is, it is an absolutly relentless non stop intense ride. the airtime is almost Avalanche like, not in quantity but definitely intensity wise. the second to last bunny hill is close to Cyclops air. Hercules
I had no doubt that it wouldn't be longer than what it is with it being built where it is. It's all cool. I love longer rides, but after riding Phoenix and J2, that perception went downhill. I can't wait for this ride. peteb
Lets hope this coaster actaully stays unlike all the past ones IE Ultra Twister and Viper Good point. Intamin just made it easier to take apart a wood coaster and send it to another park! Hopefully Six Flags has no intention of creating the "travelling wooden coaster" category. How sweat it is I don't know if anything could replace Evolution though. Oh wait, they never had it up and running Er, actually, Evolution did run. I rode it quite a few times in its short life at the park. Granted, it wasn't open much, but it was definitely open. The only ride from that entire enormous ride package that I don't remember ever working was the Spinnaker. Y'know, the Spider/Octopus/whatever ride. Now if only they hadn't taken out the Pendulum. I'm with you on SWAT though. Always good to see another flat ride pop up. Not to mention El Toro. DanK

I didn't mean it like that, I just meant that it wasn't running that often. Sorry to confuse you. It looks like a completely new Great Adventure, and I like what I am seeing. robbalvey
^ I got what you meant. I mean, out of like 10 visits I had while that ride was there, I saw it open *ONCE* I never saw the Jumpin' Jack Flash open. --Robb
