boldikus
Ive gone on the BAFF days a bunch this year and the crowds are always a bit heavier. You are going to want to consider FP. That said, if you go Sat and forecast is rain, crowds will be lighter for sure. As CoasterBill said they'll run stuff in the rain (except KK) but if its lightning, they shut all down but the two indoor coasters.

boldikus
You might luck out really well. I had some friends go on 4th of July and while it rained mostly in the morning, they said everything was open and walkons all day - including immediate re-rides on Zumanjaro. Kicked myself for not going with.

Haunting
^Well someone has a lot more time than me online. Apparently Batman and Robin will be a "Dual track inverted coaster, featuring 7 Inversions" in the Boardwalk section.

agerikson
With the overcast skies and slight chill in the air, the park was dead this morning even with the BAFF weekend going on. I only spent three hours at the park but ended up getting 10 rides on El Toro (all walk-ons + re-rides) despite minor downtime in the middle, 1 back seat ride on Batman, 1 front row seat on Nitro (two train wait), a ride on Green Lantern (I know everyone hates on it but I love leg day at the gym so ) and then got mine and my girlfriend's 2015 season pass processed. It helps that everyone is still enamored by the two-headed breakdown low capacity beast of Kingda Ka and Zumanjaro and their queues absorbed most of the crowds. I then started driving to Allentown, PA to try for my first visit at Dorney Park in two decades but then those overcast skies began their downpour and that cut my day short as I turned the other way back toward Maryland. Ended up driving nearly 7 hours for 3 hours at the park. But I guess I wouldn't be an enthusiast if I didn't think it was worth it
boldikus
omg please can there be a word filter for when anyone types "kingda ka and zumanjaro" but it appears as "two-headed breakdown low capacity beast"??? pretty please? LMAO
Genx24
I went yesterday because I was having ride withdrawals, and I'm so glad I didn't get scared off by the rain. Nitro was hauling. Sat front row during a steady downpour, and the sting of the rain, plus what felt like faster than usual speeds added up to my best experience on the ride. My friend summed the day up best: "Riding on nice sunny days are all the same. Riding in the rain is an experience." My only complaint about yesterday was ops. There's absolutely NO reason for people-eating B&Ms like Nitro and Bizarro to stack, yet those two crews had them double-stacked.
El Toro_Ryan
^A few years ago, I rode Nitro front row in the pouring rain. Me and my friends all thought it was like getting shot repeatedly with air soft guns haha. We had our heads against the lap bar the whole ride. And Nitro's crew is a hit or miss this year. They're either excellent or awful. Same with Bizarro but they're awful more often than they're not.

DJeXeL
Power outages suck not only because of attraction downtimes/evacuations but also because it is out of the parks control and they have to rely on outside entities to restore power. Of course it then immediately went down for mechanical issues and by the time it was back up half hour later I was nearly at front of the line. robbalvey
Someone just sent me this tweet: @ThemeParkReview Great Adventure is closed down. Workers say it's electrical but paramedics and stretchers seen. pic.twitter.com/lp2sCa7jHm
Vault Boy
I just walked over to where that picture was taken, and I haven't seen any stretchers. However I do see a power company truck, it seems like the main grid to the park runs through here, because they are working on 480volt power boxes. Ill be sure to post pictures later! YoshiFan
Hopefully everyone is ok. I'm glad I saw these posts, I was going to leave my house in about 10 minutes to drive over to the park and stay until closing.

3Mutts
A transformer blew up so this outage will last quite a while. Some rides are open but a majority of the park is closed.

boldikus
Well, glad we made it to another Six Flags park yesterday lol. IMO sucks less that people were stuck on rides, and more that it seemed most things didnt run the rest of the day, which Im sure ruined a lot of folks days - especially on a BAFF day.
