Lightnin Loops
So myself and some amigos were planning on going to the ACE/Fairgrounds private event jawn this Saturday night @ the park but according to every forecast I can find its gonna thunderstorm all night so thats out. Curious if you guys think this Sunday morning would be a quiet time to hit up the park? I am majorly itching for some Toro. I know its a bring-a-friend-free day BUT with it being after Labor Day and school back in session, and an Eagles game @ 1 on Sunday I thought it might be quiet. Anyone have any experience doing Sept sundays in the past? Should I not bother? Id like to avoid spending the $$$ on a FP but even a few early morning spins on the bull (and maybe Nitro )would be enough for me. dodnt forget, not only this weekend, but I think next weekend, is bring a friend free days. and the Jets play at home on sunday. YoshiFan
I went on the first Sunday after Labor Day weekend in 2012 and it wasn't crowded, 10 - 15 minute waits for the most part but I don't remember if that was a bring a friend free day or not. The weekend of the 13th and 14th will be worse since there are concerts on both Saturday and Sunday. It's too bad that they aren't open on Friday nights in September this year since those were perfect times to go for low crowds and it seems like every weekend in September will be crowded this year with Fright Fest running the last 2 weekends of the month. I heard that the park took a killing last year on Fridays in September. The park was DEAD
gp1086
So I haven't been since Fright Fest last year, but am considering a trip this Saturday considering I still have the Season Pass I bought. Other than Zumanjaro - anything else new this year in terms of food, rides, etc. that I should be sure to check out? Would like to check out Safari if line isn't gigantic like last year. njcoasterguy34
If you're gonna do Safari, either get the Flash Pass or get on line first thing, because the line for that gets huge.
Genx24
The Friday nights in September last year were incredible. My friends and I went two weeks in a row because with the minimal crowds, it felt like we had the park to ourselves. I'm leery of even returning again this season. I probably will, but I don't feel like dealing with FF and overcrowding.
3Mutts
If you go in September make sure you don't go on Ace/Gay day (they were the same day last year) since the park is PACKED on that day (I think its this weekend but don't quote me). boldikus
The ACE/Fairgrounds (Gay Day) events are both this Saturday night. We were originally going to that. Ive never been, but my buddy (who is gay and has gone multiple times) said after 8 when the park closes to public its pretty dead on the coasters. Apparently they set up a dancefloor near the fountain with bars/DJs and most people hang there. He said every time he's been for that event that after the GP gets kicked out @ 8pm all the coasters are walk ons. Since its private, I can't use my SP to get in, and would have happily paid the admission for essentially private park time (Coasters After Dark was the BEST time I've had at the park this year!). We actually had a group of people together and were going to go on Saturday but all the forecasts say thunderstorms and we all know what that means. I wouldn't be going for the DJs and dancing so no fun. Pretty sure a few of us are just going up Sunday morning for a bit. If I have to go for the FP I will, but I hope to get a bunch of early morning rides on Toro. Anyone know if Superman is back up and running? No big deal if not just curious. Brassinthegrass
OMG... Only Six Flags to make fun of themselves so poorly about sucking at making a ride open on time... All while I'm pretty sure having some copyright infringement... [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]

gp1086
How do the lines tend to be on Zumanjaro? Move fairly quickly?
RideofSteel
^The line moves very fast. From the point where the roof starts it is about a 75 minutes wait.
Cullvion
How do the lines tend to be on Zumanjaro? Move fairly quickly? Somewhat... By drop tower standards it's extremely slow, but compared to the rest of the park it is fairly good wait times. Just be prepared to not lose it when all the kids in the line begin SCREAMING at the top of their lungs when Zumanjaro goes 1 inch off the ground. coasternut
Today I attended the Riding of the Bull Seise at Great Adventure. It's a good event complete with a Mexican lunch. I just had to post this because it is so hilarious! After lunch (all you can eat), we had ERT on El Toro. Train departures were soooo delayed because of the fat ACER'S. Virtually every car on every train had lap bar issues. These people were huge trying to ride. The delays were unbelievable! That sucked up much of that ERT. Just an observation, my TPR friends. mmkaycomputer
This is long overdue, but I wanna thank KBrylczyk and Sharktums and others for their advice on the park, KK and the weather ahead of my Aug. 13 visit. Accuweather turned out to be our friend, and when we went over to the park at noon, the thunderstorms and rain had stopped, the sun was peeking out, and the park barely had anyone in it all day. Woot! And though my heart was pounding before I sat down in my seat, Kingda Ka and its launch were less intense than I had predicted. In fact, whoever said that the ride feels like it's taking forever to hit top speed two seconds after the launch was right on the money. I walked off with a smidge of a headache, but I figured it was the 5Gs and the ride's general shakiness (and a hot day full of coaster-ing — we went on it last). Better than I thought, but it whetted the appetite for my future and 1st Top Thrill Dragster ride. Can't wait! Other notes: Nitro: My favorite hyper ever. I mean, wow. Better than Apollo's Chariot by a landslide, IMHO. F'n awesome. El Toro: Whereas KK exceeded my expectations, El Toro was just an A/A- coaster for me. Maybe my expectations were too high. I thought I'd be riding this all day, but when the opportunity came to re-ride something, the choice handily went to Nitro. Next time I'll ride in the back instead of the very front. Batman The Ride: I really dig the SFMM version, and have been four versions of the this ride now, but this one is definitely the best. Impressed. Parachute drop: I could have ridden this all day! Zumanjaro: Solid drop. No different than Lex Luthor in my estimation, though it would seem LL is a little scarier with Superman running up and shaking the tower, while Zumanjaro, well, you know. Maybe a 15-minute wait to board, too. Superman: Disappointing. Medusa: The floorless B&Ms tend to make me queasy, so we skipped. Ditto for Green Lantern, though not for potential queasiness — I'm already over its big brother ride Riddler's Revenge, so this wasn't necessary. Runaway Mine Train: Packed more punch than I thought. Nice moderate coaster, def. better than the other Six Flags mine trains I've been on. Log Ride: Longest wait at 20+ minutes. Food options outside the park: The area's post-10 p.m. food options suck sweaty donkey balls. One place that looked like it had potential and said it was open late wasn't, and we had to settle for an Applebee's overrun with noisy teenagers, to say nothing of the food quality. Anyway, would go back to SFGAdv in a second. I'd expedite my return to NJ/NY area just to hit this place again.
Genx24
^You haven't truly ridden El Toro until you ride it in the back.
njcoasterguy34
I've ridden both front and back of El Toro, and I actually prefer the front. The back was a bit too wild for me.

Rotura Violenta
Nitro: My favorite hyper ever. I mean, wow. Better than Apollo's Chariot by a landslide, IMHO. F'n awesome. This was my experience as well. I was blown away and completely surprised by the ride Nitro gave (not a B&M fan here) and found El Toro to be good, but not great. Different strokes, I guess, but I found myself going back to Nitro more than El Toro.
El Toro_Ryan
Yeah, Toro is definitely more of a backseat ride. That long train really makes it feel sluggish towards the front but the back catches all the whips.
njcoasterguy34
I still feel El Toro has plenty of force in the front seat. That hill over the remaining Rolling Thunder track feels like the ride is trying to throw me all the way over to Tango and probably farther. boldikus
The back seat is the only way to ride. Middle seat of last car actually. I'm trying to decide if I like it better on the left or right side, leaning toward the left for the laterals going into the turnaround. Managed to get 4 amazing rides in on it today, all in the magic seat, also did Batman, Zumanjaro and Nitro all one each. Train A on Nitro in last row and a definite rattle. Was there 12-5 with a buddy, park was mildly crowded, I've seen it worse. Third time on Zumanjaro now and I'm starting to really like it. That drop is a hell of a rush. Took some photos I'll post tomorrow. Sunburned and tired and work tomorrow. Awesome day tho.
