Intimidator305
Cool? Sure. Likely? Nope. If they plan on keeping Anaconda for atleast a short while, they definitely need to paint it this offseason. I would hope if they do they go with a different color scheme as the one it has now doesn't go well with 305 in the background.
KDCOASTERFAN
Does anyone else think it would be cool if Kings Dominion got rid of Anaconda and put a new B&M Wing Rider in that spot over the lake in 2013 or 2014? It would be really thrilling to be on one of those and be over water the whole time. They could name it SeaHawk! Just a thought that probably wouldn't happen , but it sure would be cool! What with the way the "lake" has shrunk with all of the recent installations over & in it I doubt that there'd be much room for a eally interesting layout for a wingrider over there. If they'd just take out the butterfly turn after the MCBR then maybe anaconda could become a decent ride. coasterfreak101
Anaconda's a perfectly decent ride, it's just ugly in my opinion. Finishing the repaint would definitely be nice. Speaking of repainting, did they just not finish Volcano's second barrel roll? Because it's the only spot on the ride (though I think the top of the first loop might be this way too, but I assume that's from its proximity to the fire) that looks as faded as the whole ride did before last year. cfc
If they'd just take out anaconda. Fixed.
Fooz
Anaconda has an excellent first half at least, up until the snap turn into the MCBR, it's fast, smooth, and thrilling.
cfc
The first drop under the lake is Anaconda's best feature. After that, I'm not crazy about its screwed-up transitions and the way it just hobbles through the rest of the course. I've never had a good ride on it personally, but to each his or her own. A.J.
Does it even actually go under the water though? I know it at least goes below water level. It seems like Anaconda is one of those coasters that has a great layout on paper, but with not-so-good execution.

coasterfreak101
^Looks like the water slides that are right next to Rebel Yell. Pretty sure they're the ones that are still there? The only complexes that are gone now were directly the twisting slides underneath the exit of the sidewinder and the freefall slides towards the MCBR, I think. eddie200330
I don't do water slides very often, that would explain why I have never seen that angle in real life!!!!LOL
Austin11KD
Does anyone see a pattern here..? Great American Scream Machine was built in 1989 and then torn down in 2010. Iron Wolf was built in 1990, and was torn down in 2011. Anaconda was built in 1991.. Do you all think 2012 might be Anaconda's final year? It might of just been a Six Flags thing but you never know.. T-BONDIcoasterkid
^That is actually a fair statement, but Loch Ness Monster at BGW is still running great! So it is probably just a Six Flags thing. Either way, I have already been on Anaconda, and if it is torn down, it won't be missed THAT much. The thing I like about Anaconda is its drop to the tunnel and the loop/sidewinder. After that, well... its just "meh".
DougMJr
^ They could tear it down, but keep the tunnel. Build something else through it. That would be pretty cool.

I rode it two summers ago and then again this summer and even in that short span I noticed that the coaster had gotten decently rougher. After the ride was over this past summer my immediate reaction was, "Dear god, never again." It takes a lot to get me to that point, and I was a huge fan of GASM. They are my favorite coaster manufacturing company actually. That would be awesome to have Intimidator 305, Volcano, and said rocket coaster in one area! That's the perfect description of the ride in my eyes; also it's speed and pacing has after the first two inversions is just atrocious. And Anaconda's flaws just become more and more glaring as time passes and a better caliber of steel coasters have been built at KD.
Hugecoltsfan
As much as I love Anaconda . I think it's time for it to go. The last time I rode it over the summer there was a pretty loud bang under the car my friends and I were sitting in. We were only half way up the lift which made my friends start freaking out. BigDipper 80
I have to agree with Chuck in that I enjoyed Anaconda's first drop (I actually found it to be mildly forceful in the back), but the rest of the ride was subpar. I don't think I have ever been on a coaster that seems to absolutely crawl through its corkscrews like Anaconda did.

They manufactured my 2 favorite rides (El Toro, Intimidator 305) and they both are just incredible! I haven't tried an Intamin Rocket yet, but I know they're great! A flyer dropping through the tunnel probably wouldn't work as B&M's track is bigger & the tunnel was designed to accomodate Arrow track, thaat & the tunnel gimmick of the existing ride is 20 years old already so it's kinda lost it's novelty a long time ago.
