jjune4991
Oh God. 13 fails by Carnival. The second highest fails by one company is 5 by 3 small cruise cooperations! http://wwwn.cdc.gov/InspectionQueryTool/InspectionResults.aspx
Meteornotes
Yeah, the food safety violations on the Carnival ship were horrifying. Not surprised one failed a health inspection. Probably their entire line should get inspected for health and safety reasons. dt
Dinnwitted
The report is actually pretty disgusting. Wondering how many will take the "Poop Cruise" $58 offer. By the way that term comes from WCPO in Cincinnati. They said its losing money for Carnival.
pyrocoasterkid
An article on Yahoo's main page today. A bit similar to what was posted 2 pages back, but this takes a look at other prices. I think Motel 6 may end up being the one offended by this comparison. "What?? We're almost as bad as Carnival???" gma.yahoo.com/carnival-cheaper-motel-6-not-exactly-195349269--abc-news-topstories.html

wados
We are booked on a royal Caribbean cruise in about a month and my wife actually was looking at the carnival cruises and commented on how cheap they were............I said there is a reason why they are that cheap...you get what you pay for. So glad we never booked the carnival cruise after reading about all the issues they have.
SharkTums
^What ship and what itinerary? Out of Australia or somewhere else? BTW, I love logging in to the Royal Caribbean site and seeing that I have two weeks left till cruising, I've never booked a cruise quite so last minute before. It's definitely a perk to living in Florida!

It's definitely a perk to living in Florida! We are going to be in the states for 4 weeks in May and spending 10 days in Orlando to visit all the parks then drive to Fort Lauderdale to do a cruise on oasis of the seas - Caribbean cruise. We really wanted the allure of the seas after reading your trip report but the dates just didn't match up so we went with the next best one. So looking forward to it, it is the first cruise we have been on. So might as well do it right the first time....
SharkTums
^Awesome! That will be a lot of fun. Make sure to do the research and as you get closer book the shows you want AHEAD OF TIME as it will reduce so much stress and waiting in line once onboard. I wouldn't, they've just had another accident as mentioned on the previous page. I was watching my local 9 news, and they say that the cruise is not worth the value. Hotlanta
Carnival has agreed to reimburse some costs the US government and Navy incurred in rescuing the Splendor and the Triumph: MIAMI — Carnival Corp. said Monday it will repay the U.S. government an unspecified amount for the costs to taxpayers of responses to disabling accidents on its Triumph and Splendor cruise ships, both of which left thousands of passengers stranded at sea for days. The world’s largest cruise line company said the payments were being made voluntarily to the U.S. Treasury Department and that no government agency had requested reimbursement for either accident. But Carnival had come under pressure from U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., who was highly critical last week of Carnival’s indirect responses to his inquiries about its willingness to pay. Rockefeller, chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee, estimated the Coast Guard’s costs in dealing with the crippled Triumph earlier this year at nearly $780,000. The 2010 engine fire that left the Splendor adrift off of Mexico, he said, cost the Coast Guard and Navy about $3.4 million. The Navy work in that case included delivering food from the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. Stu K
Hi guys this is a coaster/ cruise question mentioned before about doing 9 night RCI cruise from New jersey. My question is we are looking at having 2 days either side what 2 parks should we do? Thinking Six Flags New Jersey and Busch could be doable. Any other suggestions? Regards Stu K
SharkTums
^Absolutely do SFGAd on one side of the cruise, and then I would suggest Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion on the other. ^^And yes, I am SOOOO excited about the announcement at 10am this morning!!!!! SharkTums
Bummed that the ship will be based in NYC, but it's a great market for RCCL and it will do amazing there! I don't quite get the Bumper Cars, but I love the 'pod that extends over the sea' and the indoor Sky Diving. Very cool! Can't wait to see more once all the videos and info is 'officially' online and not just leaked early. EDIT! I will add to this post as we get some new photos and video of the Quantum of the Seas! I see the standard Rock Wall and some other cool things! And since Robb loves Vine so much, it seems pretty awesome that Royal Caribbean is also using Vine to show one of the brand new never seen before on a ship features...It's called the 'North Star', and is kind of like an observation pod on a stick! [vine]https://vine.co/v/bFPhp6PD0Wp[/vine] And here you can see the awesome, also never before seen on a cruise ship, sky diving!!!! (Note the Flow Rider is there as well!) [vine]https://vine.co/v/bFP5tqiKxxh[/vine] Wow! They also just announced interior staterooms would have an 80" virtual screen...kind of like Disney's Virtual Port Hole, but this is a giant virtual BALCONY!!! It's like they read my mind!?!?! Adrenaline also will be the name of the game at SeaPlex, Royal Caribbean's largest indoor activity space at sea. Here, activities range from bumper cars, to circus school with juggling and a flying trapeze, to roller skating. During daylight hours, the circus school will be available, along with a traditional basketball court. At night, the disco lights and DJ music come out and the area transforms into a bumper car arena and roller skating dance rink. All that fun can make a person hungry, so an on-site food truck will offer a variety of treats. Here are some more awesome photos! Overview of the ship. Here you can see the iFly RipCord experience, NO upcharge!!!! Here you can see the 'North Star' observation pod hundreds of feet over the ocean! Also, just announced NOT an upcharge! Bumper Cars!!! Taking Disney's Virtual Port Hole one step further with the 'Virtual Balcony', an 80" LED screen in interior staterooms!
