mcjaco
^ Is that one from Michigan? If it is, I had a few of those last year at Dark Lord Days with some dudes from Detroit. It was worth it. And it's way better that DL (not that doing that is really hard).
shivtim
^Yep, it's from Warren (near Detroit). I've been to the brewpub; they have a number of really excellent beers. Unfortunately they don't have a very wide distribution, but they do bottle many of their brews, so they're not too hard to get if you can visit Michigan or have a friend send some. I really like Dark Lord, although I understand why some people dont' love it. It varies from year to year, and doesn't hold up as well as some other RISs when aged. I think it's best after about 1 year. Any earlier and it's too sweet, any later and it gets a bit flat and the flavors muddle. A 2007 DL I drank in 2008 is still the single best beer I've ever had. alilstronger
I do not remember the brand or kind but it was last year on the North East tour with TPR. I RARELY drink beer but it was free so I gave it a shot.
lil jimmy norton
Possibly the best thread ever. I'm curious to know what you all think about Guinness? I haven't seen it mentioned much.
ParkTrips
Honest opinion? Its ok, great to pound if you're into that, but I prefer sipping beers with more flavor, especially since it typically carries a somewhat premium price
Hilltopper39
I've never been a huge fan of Guinness but was pretty impressed with the Guinness Black Lager that's been out for a little while now, pretty decent.

Bubba83
lil jimmy: If you like Guinness you should give Guinness Foreign Extra Stout a try. It's got a lot more flavor than the original Guinness and I like it quite a bit. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/209/752 Also, have you tried Murphy's? It's similar to Guinness and it comes in really nice looking 16oz cans and is pretty good. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/240/
NJCroMag
Been alternating lately between Troeg's Troegenator and Victory Summer Love ale...two very different beers, but each quite tasty.

Last night I had Trappistes Rochefort 10, which I didn't think was that great to be honest. I also picked up a bottle of Parabola which I haven't tried yet. NJCroMag
Victory Golden Money Tasty...and packs a punch, too. In response to this thread, and staying on the Philly-area kick, I recently picked up a Yards sampler: - Pugilist Ale - Extra Special Ale - IPA - Pale Ale All are good, but the Pugilist and ESA really stand out. Brandy524
I tried Sam Adams Summer Ale and actually liked it. I was surprised. Any suggestions similar to it? Wal-Mart was sold out when I went back to get more this past weekend, so I tried Wild Blue Blueberry Lager. It was meh. A little too much bitter aftertaste. And Danny has been drinking Yuengling Light Lager and is really enjoying it.

If you're looking for stuff at Walmart, I'd try and stick to it. If Leinenkugel's is available, they have Sunset Wheat which is a nice refreshing summer beer. That Wild Blue is good for about one bottle, then I get blueberry overload. Then again, it's a Bud product so....
