^Yep, it's from Warren (near Detroit). I've been to the brewpub; they have a number of really excellent beers. Unfortunately they don't have a very wide distribution, but they do bottle many of their brews, so they're not too hard to get if you can visit Michigan or have a friend send some.

I really like Dark Lord, although I understand why some people dont' love it. It varies from year to year, and doesn't hold up as well as some other RISs when aged. I think it's best after about 1 year. Any earlier and it's too sweet, any later and it gets a bit flat and the flavors muddle. A 2007 DL I drank in 2008 is still the single best beer I've ever had.

lil jimmy:

If you like Guinness you should give Guinness Foreign Extra Stout a try. It's got a lot more flavor than the original Guinness and I like it quite a bit.

Also, have you tried Murphy's? It's similar to Guinness and it comes in really nice looking 16oz cans and is pretty good.

Thanks, but lately I've been trying more and more craft beers. Last night I had Trappistes Rochefort 10, which I didn't think was that great to be honest. I also

picked up a bottle of Parabola which I haven't tried yet.

Victory Golden Money

Tasty...and packs a punch, too.

In response to this thread, and staying on the Philly-area kick, I recently picked up a Yards sampler:

- Pugilist Ale

- Extra Special Ale

- IPA

- Pale Ale

All are good, but the Pugilist and ESA really stand out.

I tried Sam Adams Summer Ale and actually liked it. I was surprised. Any suggestions similar to it? Wal-Mart was sold out when I went back to get more this past weekend, so I tried Wild Blue Blueberry Lager. It was meh. A little too much bitter aftertaste.

And Danny has been drinking Yuengling Light Lager and is really enjoying it.

I think Sam Adam's Summer Ale is the one with Coriander....I don't recall. If you're looking for stuff at Walmart, I'd try and stick to it. If Leinenkugel's is available, they have Sunset Wheat which is a nice refreshing summer beer.

That Wild Blue is good for about one bottle, then I get blueberry overload. Then again, it's a Bud product so....
