If you could tear down one coaster

Thunderhawk at Dorney Park. That ride is INCREDIBLY painful. Everything about it is awful. From the hornet-invested que to the ride that THROWS YOU across your seat, it's not worth keeping.

There's something about wooden roller coasters at Dorney Park that just isn't right...

Honestly, I'd light a match, burn down Thunderhawk, then stomp on its ashes...

If the ride wasn't so vintage...I hate Thunderhawk, but the simple giddy feeling you get when clanking up that iconic lift is incredible. I want to tear down Thunderhawk, but it seems to much of nostalgia for me to feel that way.

I'd go with Mean Streak, but you can add me to the list of back injuries for GhostRider. I've met a lot more people who like GhostRider than who like Mean Streak and since there are fewer rides at Knott's, it seems a bit more important. It also attracts a lot of people into its line, making the line for Silver Bullet and Xcelerator shorter.

I hope whoever said Silver Bullet wasn't serious. I love that ride.

Also curious whether all the people who said S:TE would still stick with that choice since its redesign.

Well, I want to light an match and burn down Gemini at CP. Also that person that said "Am I the only one who loves SoB" or something. You not alone I also love SoB, it is my top number 1 of all woodies, and Mean Streak come 2nd for me though.

Dragon @ Adventureland. You get the living sh*t beaten out of you before you even reach the lifthill. And the rest of the ride is just one horrid nightmare of pain.

I'd destroy this ride with my bare hands if I could.

Predator gets my vote. Although the trains from Voyage helped, predator is still a chiropractic's dream. I swear every time I ride that thing I want to get re-adjusted. In fact, Darien Lake could make some serious cash if they replaced the slushie station with a spinal adjustment booth.

Anyway, some topper track or a match could seriously help that ride.

I'm from Lincoln, Nebraska, and we never went to Adventureland when I was a kid. The first time was a few years ago with a friend. I'm in Kansas City now. I agree, Dragon is a less than pleasant ride experience.

To change subjects briefly, on one of our rides on Tornado, I came so far out of my seat I was grasping at clouds. I can't imagine that coaster before seat belts.

I'd probably go with Mean Streak as others have. My first time there was the mid 90s, but I don't remember my ride on it, and it was just a few years old then. I rode it once the last time I was there, just because I like to hit all the coasters. It would be nice if it could be fixed. Still, they could build a new coaster inside it. There appears to be enough room.

And I can't believe Elissa suggested Prowler. Robb/Elissa, were you guys there for media day the Friday before the park opened for the season?

I am torn between two coasters.

The first would be The Roller Coaster/Manhattan Express at the New York, New York hotel in Las Vegas. That ride is so horrible, I wouldn't even want to see it replaced with something else. Empty space would be better than that horrid POS.

I'll probably catch some flack for this, but Revolution at SFMM. I know that it's very iconic, and it used to be pretty cool. However, the addition of OTSR's made for some horrible head banging. Furthermore, I can't think of a ride with more trims than that. That terrain could be used for something far cooler. I'm thinking a quality GG woodie or a sweet Intamin terrain coaster. Aside from looking pretty, I don't feel that Revolution is useful for anything beyond viewing at a safe distance. I skip it every time I go.

I love Dragon at Adventureland! It's my #30 steel!

I don't know what coaster I would taer down. Some boring coasters are charming and classic, which I appreciate. So probably a supposedly high-thrill coaster that, well, actually isn't, like a Boomerang, SLC, or Arrow multi-looper.

I agree with everything here. Seriously, I mean, why does it have to have the freaking OTSRs? I would be willing to ride it again if they got new trains, but otherwise it's the only coaster I refuse to ride and wish to be destroyed.

Probably gonna a lot of disagreement with this, but Roller Soaker at Hershey.

There's always a long wait, it's a bad idea, and it doesn't add any atmosphere to the area.

I don't have a problem with any bad ride that attracts a big line. Keeps the lines to the better rides shorter.

I think I'd tear down Great American Scream Machine at SFGAdv. It's not necessarily an awful ride; it just seems to take up a huge amount of space while doing almost nothing for the park. Even just another path back to Kingda Ka would be nicer than GASM IMO.

Wish granted LOL

Since this thread was started over a year ago, I'm curious how many of the suggested rides actually have been closed down.

Psyclone at SFMM, oh wait.

In all seriousness, I'd tear down, or heavily change Collosus. That thing had jackhammering worse than Ghostrider when I rode it, and it took my neck about a week to recover from riding that piece of crap. I rode it twice, and the second time it was even worse!
