The Disneylander Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 I'm definitely going to this one after the awesomeness that was WCB 2009. Can't wait, Knott's is a ten-minute-drive from my house.
kayoss Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 My Dad considers parks a waste of money. He is more of a nature guy which is annoying. Â The DAY I turned 18 I moved out of my parents house! Senior year of high school with my own apartment, it was great! ANd I hardly remember any of it!! But it was soooooo worth it! Â Move far far away! Do it! Â - Kayoss *all for being a rebel* in LA
kayoss Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 By the way, for you folks traveling a fair distance to attend the events.. it might be worth noting that Captain EO should be back in Disneyland's Tomorrowland by that time... for all you retro/Michael Jackson fans.... it just may be worth a 3-day vacation!
thrillgeek Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 I'm hoping before WCB I'll be moving down near LA with my girl friend! That would make things alot easier instead of flying.
coastercrzyjames Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 I can't wait for WCB! I'm definitely going this year. I'll probably fly out, it'd be easier/quicker than driving.
the ghost Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 This news makes me all tingly in my tummy! Â The Bebes will be there!! Â OMG the Bebes are back after like a 6 month hiatus. YAY! If you and Chuck somehow make a trip report it will be the single most hilariously awesome trip report in TPR history.
Steelinwood Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 I'm planning right now. I'll need to fly into LAX though, right? Is it also possible that any of us could carpool?
SharkTums Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 LAX, BUR, SNA would all be fine airport choices for attending the entire event. Â I know that last year people did organize rides and meet ups, so I wouldn't guarantee it but you have a good chance of finding a nice person to help out (as long as you're offering something in return!)
Skycoastin Steve Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 My friend and I are flying from Tampa to the Ontario airport for $89 each way on Southwest. I know Ontario is a ways from there, but we'll be going a few days early anyway to do some other sightseeing before the weekend. Southwest is amazing like that, though.
Steelinwood Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 LAX, BUR, SNA would all be fine airport choices for attending the entire event. I know that last year people did organize rides and meet ups, so I wouldn't guarantee it but you have a good chance of finding a nice person to help out (as long as you're offering something in return!)  Which one is closest to both?
SharkTums Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 BUR (Burbank) would probably be the one 'closest' to both, but LAX is nearly equal (but may have more traffic in its surrounding freeways). Â ^^ONT is totally an option and can often be found for cheap on Southwest but like you said, it is pretty far out.
cgodsey Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 We flew into Ontario last year. It is a decent drive but the airport is much smaller than LAX and a breeze to get in and out of. Continental is also running specials to ONT right now.
Rcp123190 Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 This year's event sounds great!! I'm gonna do my best to attend both days...I have time to start saving up for the event....I just want to thank Robb and everybody else involved with this whole thing!!
ghost007jas Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 I live very close to the Ontario airport, and it only takes me an hour and fifteen minutes to get to Magic Mountain and under an hour to get to Knott's, so it is certainly feasible - especially if the price is right! Â My girlfriend and I look forward to checking out the event this year!
dino Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Just when you thought WCB couldn't be topped, they go and do something like this. I only dread how tired I'll be when it's over, last time after WCB I was sore for like 2 days. Regardless, my excitement it abound!
jray21 Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 I am definitely going to make a week out of this trip. WCB is an absolute must for us every year! I always purchase a video or two from the TPR store to get me excited about the start of coaster season!
skaunit Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 This is so awesome... WCB 2009 was my first TPR event, and if this even matches that [which it sounds like it undoubtedly will] its going to be amazing. Â My girlfriend may or may not come along this time, but I think my co-worker is coming for sure, so I have a new recruit. SOO looking forward to it.
Brandon4579 Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 I have a few questions. Â 1. will there be a limit to how many people can come? 2. do you have to have a TPR account to go? 3. do you have to let TPR know you're going, or do you just show up? 4. is there an age limit? Â yes i know i ask a lot of questions
SharkTums Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 ^All of these questions will be addressed when the actual flyer is released. Please just be patient.
Six Flags Enthuseast Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 I really hope I can attend this year's WCB, the last one looked like it kicked some serious !
FrightFest1408 Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Ok if I can come I have my season pass. and I can't go to Knotts.
thrillgeek Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 As soon as I get more info from the flyer I'm asking for 3 days off from work so I can go. I'm also going to try and talk my family into going.
Ewan Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 OMG! finally I am going to be in SoCal for the dates. Now all I have to do is to persuade my boyf if he will go (going to use emotional blackmail as I turn 40 the week prior and this is my birthday holiday) Was at SFMM in Oct and had a crap time as there were no Qbots left and we only got on 3 coasters. Is it advisable to hire a Qbot for WCB??? Also is the $30-40 over and above the park entry?? Coming from Scotland and not been able to do any TPR trips so far I would love to do this meet. Even if I can only do one park I wil go. Wish me luck with the blackmail!!!
jray21 Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 ^We will have to wait for the flyer for the pricing, but no matter what the price, you will be getting the deal of the century!!! Also, in the past, the price included parking if you got there early enough, but all things can change! Of course we will have to wait for the flier for all the official information, but no matter what, it is well worth it. As for Q-bots, sometimes they are able to get deals for them, however, the ert's are so massive, that we rode everything we wanted a bunch of times. The fliers will have all the details, but it is by far the most incredible event, and is absolutely worth every penny!
