Electric Car Theme Park charging stations
kayoss replied to kayoss's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
One thing that's irritating to electric car drivers is when a plugin hybrid which can use gas uses a charger when they don't absolutely need to (as in a pure electric). There should really be some designated all-electric spots but I guess that discourages everyone. -

Aw. Thought this thread would get a bit more love as I am truly curious. Guess electric car owners truly are a rare breed! -

West Coast Bash 2014 - TICKETS ON SALE!
kayoss replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey everyone... Super excited about Magic Mountain WCB! looking forward to hanging out with you all... Haven't been to a TPR event in almost 6 years! I noticed some people were wondering about Hurricane Harbor discounts... im a six flags gold member so I can get up to 6 tickets to Hurricane Harbor at around half off if anyone would like some. I believe i have to be the one to buy them with my pass and I.D. but I'd also like to go to hurricane harbor and relax some during the day at some point so company seems like it will be less creepy (im going by myself to WCB this year). See you guys there. -

Which rides have given you greyouts?
kayoss replied to rcjp's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Anyone know if they ever run Goliath at SFMM without the trim brakes before the helix anymore? Ever since the trim brakes were added there no greyouts for me (and by far the best part of the ride). -
SeaWorld Orlando (SWO) Discussion Thread

"Blackfish" did what any 'successful" documentary wants to achieve, which is to create a polarizing view of a subject that creates real debate, even if it has an agenda. The reality is, ALL successful Oscar-winning caliber documentaries have an agenda. That's what makes them effective! If you think about all the winning documentaries, "Bowling For Columbine", etc... they all have slants and questionable facts... but its more of the debates and arguments they actually start which would not have been started without the film's existence. In this sense, the films are important if only because they ignite discussions on topics that maybe people wouldn't have thought much about previous to watching them. If all one does is simply watch a documentary and thinks they are then a 'self-proclaimed expert' on the documentary's subject, then they're just as big of a moron as someone who reads a review of the film and thinks they're an expert. The truth always is in the grey area somewhere in between. Every big corporation is bound to have corruption problems, and there's hypocrisies in every group. What really pains me is all the negative responses towards Robb and Allysia, who I personally know are really good people, and having crazy fanatic PETA nut-cases openly attack them on Facebook and their own forums here, when all they asked was for some rational perspective in the spirit of common sense. That's the trouble with anything polarizing... you're gonna have the people that are sure they are right...make opinions that they're sure are right... have people agree with them that are equally sure they're right... all making wild statements from the walmart laptop in the collective meth lab from trailer-park USA. -
On the topic of cell phones, it brought something to mind: I just got an iPhone 4 and although I'm sure I'll bring it with me next time I go to SFMM I also know that I won't be able (or want to) bring it with me on the actual coasters. On that note, I'm slightly terrified to leave it in the cubby holes while I ride. The true fear of riding the coasters would be not knowing if my iPhone would be there when I returned to the station, which isn't the best way to enjoy a day at the park. I know I can't be alone in this, what do you guys do with your expensive smartphones? Ever had a problem with them being stolen from the cubbyholes or something similar? Perhaps my suspicions of people are paranoid rather then being based in reality.

I remember kids being terrified of Angelica Houston's 3D claws. But nowaday's? I doubt kids would be too affected by anything. The snake in HISTA is much more terrifying. Actually HISTA in general would be freakier to a kid then anything in EO. Kids also engage in EO quicker because of the Jim Henson characters. I am so incredibly excited it's coming back. Just watching the original 70MM presentation would be enough, but I've heard they're going all-out with the fibre optic star effects, a couple new ones, even bringing the purple 3D Glasses back! I'm glad (for once) I just renewed that Premium AP.

I just wanted to add that I was extremely impressed with last year's WCB, and especially the very generous and 1 on 1 guest service experience that park management Jay gave me and my friend. A long story short, my friend just bought a $600 phone and it slipped out of his pocket on Tatsu. Although it was retarded to have his $600 phone on Tatsu, it still sucked. We went to guest services and filled out the lost and found thing, and happened to catch Jay and told him our sob story. He personally looked into the matter, and although the phone was missing forever, I just thought it was incredibly nice how he actually called my friend's number and told them the bad news personally. How many park managers would do that? (By the way, my friend had insurance and now has an iphone!)

Oh, and I just wanted to add that, until they dropped the "front of the line" benefit from the Xtreme pass, I had one of those for 7 years. I was never given a clear picture of what you were offered with the new ones, and frankly that feature was the only thing that really motivated me to go, so I just took a break from the park last year (with the exception of WCB). Once a year, or twice even, is easily doable at Sfmm for far less then even the (admittedly dirt cheap) $55 ap price. Bu without special benefits I usually end up not going. $15 parking doesn't make it easier

Ironically, knotts was selling their APs for 59 on black Friday. Since I've never hAd a knotts ap before and because ive never seen one priced below $80, I got one. I figure it's worth it to ride the handful of coasters there I love on the way to Disneyland. Weirdly enough, on black friday Six Flags was selling their play pass for 59.95 and the very next day they dropped the price to $54.95. Since I'm in no rush, I wonder if it would be worth it to see if they have the limited time sale. Just switched to the payment plan for the renewal of my Disneyland Resort premium pass. With my birthday discount it comes to a monthly charge of $29 which is a decent amount to pay since I end up going there so often if only to escape LA for a bit.

Question ... what kind of cheese is on your "vegan" pizza. I am just confused. Haha, I can see how that would be confusing. It's imitation cheese and I have no idea what it's made of. The brand who makes that specific cheese is "Follow Your Heart". The thing with vegan cheeses is that most of them suck... like... really really really suck. Like... "I want to puke and never eat vegan cheese again suck." So as a vegan, when you find some that's not only edible, but tastes as good as normal cheese, it's a momentous occasion haha. The "Follow Your Heart" stuff isn't even really that great normally, but the way they cooked it at Tomato Joe's made it taste amazing and just like normal cheese. Are you the type of vegan that won't even eat honey? I had a best friend who died, and his sister is that type of vegan, and now that I spend time with my dead friend's sister every now and then you wouldn't BELIEVE how hard it is to visit theme parks and make sure she eats something. And she loves theme parks! It would be great if there was some guide to that so I don't dread trying to find her food next time (going to Disneyland next). I was thinking of just snapping some leaves off a tree and calling it a vegan hot dog.

Oh... and 'near-death' aside.... I had a GREAT TIME!!! Both ERTs were great, it was wonderful meeting Rob (FINALLY!) and going to an event organized with such obvious care and love. A million thanks to Rob, the park's management crew, and everyone who organized such a great day for its fans. My full TR with photos is coming soon, I just have barely had any sleep and it's 2:19AM...
