chemical_echo Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I gotta disagree with Volcano. Every picture I see of it, I can only think "wow, that's ugly."
Airtime&Gravity Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I also don't think Volcano looks photogenic. Sure it is cool looking, but it isn't photogenic. I forgot about it in my first post, but Mine Train at Ocean Park is just beautiful. The location is great, the view is great, and the ride itself looks great.
ohiocoasters Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I agree with Credit Crazy. Diamondback is incredibly photogenic as is Intimidator at Carowinds.
wlmoorer Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 haha...everytime I think of the support structure around the helix of the mine train at Ocean Park it reminds me of an unfinished liar of a villian for a james bond film!!!
gtman316 Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 The coasters of Mt. Olympus Cyclops Hades & Zeus
DBru Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Wow, that mine train coaster is HUGE (and looks awesome)! Has anyone ridden it? How tall is the coaster? It looks well above 100 from the ground in this picture: http://rcdb.com/1233.htm?p=12616
Moose Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 ^ How do you not notice that the coaster is built on a mountain when you are looking at the pictures at RCDB. IE this picture ON RCDB. Or you know, from TPR's own numerous updates from Ocean Park. Which Airtime&Gravity got his pictures from. TPR has been to the park numerous times, I wonder if anyone has ridden it...
dr.gumbo Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 ^ Agreed. Its amazing at night, especially when the Blackpool illuminations are on.
Electerik Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Trying to think of a coaster that I've personally photographed that was very accessible and pretty from every angle.... Hoosier Hurricane at Indiana Beach.
Matt6885 Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 I've never ridden it. In fact I've never been anywhere near Japan, but I think this coaster is the most beautiful I have seen. It's the White Cyclone at Nagashima Spa Land. But I would also like to nominate Nemesis at Alton Towers, UK, purely for its fantastic theming and attention to detail.
Tmcdllr Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 I have to say Revolution @SFMM- I always thought the loop looked really cool, almost perfectly round. Then, And now,
Cavs Fan Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 I don't have pictures but I think Mean Streak looks nice at night. Also, Hydra looks pretty cool from the area under the Cobra Roll. I think the best looking coaster is Son Of Beast.
coolhandluke Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 ...a coaster...that was very accessible and pretty from every angle.... This is what I think when I think "photogenic" (and I agree that HH fits that fantastically). I guess I don't understand how one good picture can make a ride photogenic (like on enclosed rides or unfinished rides), but I'll admit beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Especially since I haven't been many places to see for myself. As for my picks, Robin Hood always struck me as impressive on the water As does Kawasemi. And the theming of Crystal Wings is awesomely photogenic (the ride itself is a bit too obscured IMO).
the ghost Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Wow, Robin Hood has a damn dense support strcture(my nerdiness makes me cry )
Jumboshrmp Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 I've never been on it, but the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread was Mantis. Yeah, maybe it's not the greatest ride, but I love the color scheme, and if you find the right picture, it can be hard to follow the train around the track. Picture from Coasterimage.com
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Some of you probably seen these already. Flight Deck's Zero G roll. Demon's loop.
metrock Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 There are lot of photogenic coasters out there. But one of the first that comes to mind is how Montezooma's Revenge used to look before they added Silver Bullet. Here is a picture I took back in '02.

Wait, does that shuttle loop have two trains on it?
metrock Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 ^ Yes and they are about to crash! Heh, I used to get that question all the time. It's just two pictures taken a few seconds apart stitched together.
Mechanic Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Any of the Disney Big Thunder coasters make for some great pictures, whether there's a train in the shot or not.
Swiminn6 Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 I am really surprised no one has put this yet but I like this one, Expedition Everest:
