cooliocody12
This is a thread discussing which gives a better ride. The back, or front of El Toro. I'd say the back seat for the first drop, the whiplash feeling on all the drops and the insane airtime you get on the hill over Rolling Thunder. King of Ka
I've always thought the front was much better- to me, the air on the first two hills (and the first drop is about the same to me as in the back) is much better than the back. The only part where the back is better to me is the Rolling Thunder hill. Definitely front for me.
CHILLERLC1
I don't think it matters. Jump on: Ole!!!
Capitalize
Back - two train wait versus 15 train wait. Back wins everytime... Â I've only ridden in the back because of that.
FeelTheFORCE
Front is better than the back by miles, in my opinion.
CoasterTrek
BACK by a longshot!
KDFAN
I'll tell you on Monday when I finally ride it for the first time

scooterdoug
This is easy...front!!! True, the wait is significant, but it's worth it. I tried both the front and the back. I didn't find any significant increase in airtime in the back, with the notable exception of the first drop. But, the marvelous view from the front can't be beat. If I ever get back to SFGAdv, I will ride in the front, and only the front. -Doug
MagicMountainMan
The back. Â The front is really good, but the back is insane! All of the airtime hills are even better in the back and the Rolling Thunder hill is the single most amount of airtime I've ever experienced. Cygnus12
Back seat...the last airtime hill back there is x20. If you didn't have a lapbar, you'd be launched to Mexico City I think.
AmyUD06
+1 for the back, especially if you leave a nice gab between yourself and the lap bar.
coasterfreaksrttd
I loved the front. But when I rode it in the back there did seem to be more Gforces and airtime, also the lines where shorter for the back. I'm still gonna have to say the front. Nothing beats seeing your doom before it happens!
cooliocody12
I rode the front and while the air was better on the first two hills by a bit, that doesn't beat the incredible whiplash drop in the back and same goes for the twister finale and the hill over rolling thunder. tresc3
Definitely the back.
alilstronger
I always find the back of almost every coaster more fun. Personally I want ALL of the first hill. By the time the back gets to the top the front is already partially down therefore they do get the entire first hill of a lot of coasters. Also the back gets whipped around by the front so that makes it a better ride for me. Especially on older wooden coasters.
coolcalicoaster
I dont think we've got anywhere here.
The Bebes
The first drop in the back seat is INSANE!!!!!! Probably the best first drop on ANY coaster I've ever ridden.
coolcalicoaster
^I think both seats offer something different and great. Toro truly is a great coaster.
Jcoaster
The back by a longshot. Sickest airtime ever.
coasterbilly
yep back is sensational, I've ridden once in the front and it honestly didn't feel as "out of control" as the back is. Now I'm not saying it's not intense, but the back on this baby is definitely more intense with the drop and the type of air over the hills. Yes you get great air in the front but their is no sensation like getting whipped over EVERY hill in the back on this ride, the ejector air is unmatched anywhere else. BACK! Lenaapple1974
I'd normally say the back... but when I rode it this year, it was incredibly rough! I couldn't believe it. I believe that this is the first sign of this coasters eventual demise into a wooden wreck. I am actually going today, and will probably ride again, but will try the front to see how much that has changed too. It used to be such a smooth ride. That first drop was just horrendous the last time out. I was so upset b/c that was my favorite coaster in the park.
MattMattMatt
I rode a few weeks ago in the back and it was smoother than most steel coasters I've ridden of that size. I'm thinking any roughness you felt must have been a fluke.
Lenaapple1974
I am really hoping so. I was there yesterday, and the lines were incredibly long, and we opted out of El Toro, for another awesome run on Nitro instead. That last time really is just still sitting there reminding me of 200ft of "bangbangbangbang". I was going to try in the middle/front next time because I thought maybe the last car just was bouncing and maybe not all the cars do that. Jcoaster
After riding it yesterday 3x in a row without leaving my seat..I can confirm the back is where it is at.
