Fat-G
sad about TT the first dueling coaster, but if it brings in new rides i'm for it. this park needs thrill rides and theming.
EnglndPatriots6
^ Yea. I loved TT but if its in a bad condition like they say it should be removed, the space it sits on could be used for so many new rides. Same way i feel about MHF its huge and could be replaced by a bunch of other better rides. Maybe a splash battle?

lilsam1993
I still don't believe a THBS is replacing this coaster tt. Doesn't sfkk have enough room back there for one anyways TONY.bmp
nannerdw
Twisted Twins (the pink side) was my first real roller coaster. It was kind of a nostalgic ride for me, and I really wish I had gotten a chance to ride the blue side before it got closed down.
EnglndPatriots6
^^ The red box you put up where the trees and that road is, the park doesnt own that i dont think. And how would they not have enough room if they tore down TT? TT covers so much space and tearing it down would open up plenty of space to build at least the THBS and 2-3 other thrill rides. lilsam1993
I didn't say the park wouldn't have enough room if they torn this coaster down, Ive said that there's no point to taking this coaster out and put in a THBS when the park already has enough room for one in that are
EnglndPatriots6
The park doesnt own enough space to place a THBS. The only way is with the removal of TT. Its been unofficially annouced already by removing the trains and sending them to SFSTL for refurbishment for use on Screamin Eagle. A few other reasons is 1. The park can sell the 2 coasters for scrap money that it desperately needs, and 2. It was only getting around 200-400 rides a day on average. Why would you keep a ride that takes up space, holds scrap value, and isnt popular anymore? Another reason is 1 side was always broke so that just makes even more sense. Plenty of rides along with a THBS could fit in the area it took up.
DBru
^I don't understand why you keep stating facts that you really have no idea about...
EnglndPatriots6
I know my facts. TT never got more then 700 rides a day in the 2 years leading up to its closure. the line was always walk on. And thats not facts its called logic. Ever heard of it? Hell in fact about half the time i rode i could stay on becuase no one was in my row. Maybe you need to learn your facts. That doesnt mean Tony Hawk and a bunch of other rides are going to replace it, there have been several cases of SF taking out rides and not replacing them in the past few years. DBru
Well, I just find that your 'logic' has many faults... -You are quick to point out that TT is announced defunct because the trains have been moved to SFStL, to be placed on SE...okay. Do you have any source, besides a RUMOR on SCREAMSCAPE, to back this up? Who is to say that TT won't receive some rehabilitation, and reopen with new trains? -Have you measured how much room SFKK has to spare? Do you know the exact dimensions of the rumored THBS coaster, and are positive that it can't fit ANYWHERE in the park without the removal of the Twins? -Wait...the park is in desperate need for money? That's funny...because all I've ever heard was that SFKK is profitable. -Twisted Twins never had more than 700 riders per day during its last 2 years of operation? Really? Were you at the park every day, both of those seasons, continuously monitoring how many people were riding the coaster? -It isn't that one side of TT was always broken down...the park just never felt the need to run both sides at the same time. I'm not trying to flame you, or sound like a COMPLETE jerk. I've just noticed that you state all of your posts in the thread as fact, and quite honestly...it gets annoying. I understand that you are excited and concerned about the future of your home park, as am I, just please don't continue to act like a "know-it-all". I'd really appreciate it, anyway. EnglndPatriots6
Well TT is as good as gone. And You look at the park and tell me where they could fit a THBS. No where. TT has been closed for 2 years. The trains were shipped to SFSTL. Obviously adding in the THBS where the station area was and the plaza for it, it would fit perfectly. And when i said that about the money I meant the Six Flags chain. And how do you know they didnt feel the need to run both sides? The part about the 700 riders i exagerated a bit but it had low ridership over the last 2 seasons. Anyone could tell u that, that went there on a regular basis or worked there. And why do i need to change when i know what im talking about? ^^ I never said thats what they was adding if you actually read the thread you would see where this rumor comes in so thanks for not reading. And since you dont feel obligated to read here you go: I have a friend on my Mock Trial team that works at the park, and the other day at a cookout we started talking about SFKK's future. I asked her if she had heard anything about what was going on with the Northwest Territory, and she told me that she didn't know much other than the fact that TT's trains are no longer on site. But what I found interesting is that she said her supervisor told her that Tony Hawk was going to be sponsoring a coaster in the park, but she didn't know when this was supposed to happen. Could the park be adding a THBS coaster in the near future? I for one would LOVE to see this happen...
lilsam1993
You do have alot of faults. TT may really just be in rehab and they could just be getting new trains and TLC. No body really don't know um...EnglndPatriots6? Back in 2007 the park said they was going to put something good in the old dragster area so they can repopulate that area Before the accident. The only thing that I can confirm gone is that old dragster ride is long gone.
Bolliger&Mabillard
there have been several cases of SF taking out rides and not replacing them Sierra Twist Circus Wheel Freefall Spinout Flashback That's just one park. They took the ride out and put a fence up that said closed for your future enjoyment or whatever that sign said. then the other side closed that had TT and MHF. Why would TT need a major rehab if it was built in 1997? the ride would be fine if it had stayed open or they at least took care of it in these 2 years its been closed. Codys pictures obviously show that they've let it just sit there. Wouldn't it make more sense to start a major rehab the year it closed or at least keep it in good shape until they were going to rehab it? Now if they even are going to rehab the ride they will have more to do on it since the condition its in.
DBru
^How would they have kept it in better shape? Put a tarp over it?
Bolliger&Mabillard
^No. It wouldn't have sat there that long if it wasn't on it's way out.
DBru
Well, I can see where you are coming from...but you have to remember that extended states of SBNO like this have occurred before. For example: http://rcdb.com/id418.htm
Bolliger&Mabillard
^Good example, an I commend you on a great find, but I see that as a rare exception to a greater proven rule. Though niether us us know for sure what's in this rides future, I feel that "operating" won't be in it. I also realize you are not saying that "I know for sure it's going to open back up", but you're not ruling it out as an option either. I can understand and respect that. However, SF in general isn't a company known to "rehab" rides that have stood idle for years. (look at all the rides they have in "storage") Keeping the idea of this ride being rehabbed is a valid opinion. I however think that this ride is on it's deathfooter. EnglndPatriots6
If they was planning on keeping it wouldnt you think they would have kept up the maintenance. So far they have just let it sit to rust. If a rehab were going to occur to the ride they would have kept normal maintenance on it like they did before it closed.
Goliath513
there have been several cases of SF taking out rides and not replacing them Sierra Twist Circus Wheel Freefall Spinout Flashback That's just one park. Just had to get that off my chest. Well Circus Wheel was replaced with that 3-Point Challenge game. I think Twisted Twins is bound for removal just because this is a Six Flags park. Look what they have done with other rides that were closed down and removed recently after SBNO for a considerable amount of time -- Zonga at SFDK, Flashback at SFMM, and Two Face at SFA for example. With Mark Shapiro's talk about big plans for the parks in 2011 for Six Flags' 50th anniversary, my guess is a redevelopment of the Twisted Twins area with something like a Thomas Town or a new coaster. monsterfan99
I've got a few questions for those that go to the park often. 1. Is Pengiun's Blizzard River still down? The website says it is, but it is not always updated. 2. How does the Flash Pass system work there. I saw it was only $10, so I was not sure if it was a ticket style or q-bot. 3. What show is in the Thrill Park Theater right now? Is it a regular movie, 3-d or 4-d? 4. We only plan to be at the park Sunday from opening until around 3-4 pm. So what order should we do the coasters to get them in at least once. T2, the wild mouse and Roller Skater will be just one ride each for the credit. EnglndPatriots6
1. Blizzard river is open from memorial day to labor day i believe but lines are long sometimes. 2. The flash pass is a ticket and you go to the exit of the rides and walk up. Well thats how i think its done. Ive never used it because lines arent ever long. 3. The show in the thrill park theater is The secrets of the lost temple which is a new movie for this year. It is in 3D. 4. If i was you id go to the road runner first as the line moves slowly, then greezed lightnin since its next door, then go to chang and then T2. from there follow the path of T2 towards the blizzard river and follow that under Thunder Run and do Thunder Run and then Roller skater last. At the rehire party I had attend in 2007. The ex-president of the park said that they were getting rid of that dragster ride and was going to put something in that rides place in 2008 that will attract many vistiors back in that section because that place was always not that populated since they took out the thriller bees ride, the tea cups and other in 2001, but since the accident happen in 2007 nothing has happen.
