DBru
Why wouldn't you consider Greezed Lightnin' a major ride, EP? It's a 140ft launched coaster with an inversion...
EnglndPatriots6
Well major new ride. It was moved from a park. Thats what i meant. And cody dont forget new trains and track work for thunder run.
sfkk339
Well major new ride. It was moved from a park. Thats what i meant. And cody dont forget new trains and track work for thunder run. After riding Thunder Run last weekend I have come to the conclusin that it isn't Thunder Run's track....It's the trains. But it still runs great! EnglndPatriots6
I'm actually getting used the PTC trains thunder uses. But something is going on with the ride and it needs to be fixed
DBru
^What do you mean (something's going on)? I agree with you that Thunder Run could use a new train...but that is just unrealistic thinking right now.
EnglndPatriots6
With how extremely rough it is. It's either the track, which is playing a small role in the roughness since they barely replaced any in the past 3 years, or the trains. I'm willing to bet its the trains. It would be nice to see all new track though if they dont get new trains.
sfkk339
New track work will not help. A new train would make a world of diffrence.
EnglndPatriots6
Track will. The part they re-tracked on the drop i can tell.
Guest
After reading this thread I got thinking about cheap improvements / new attractions they could add to Kentucky Kingdom. I know this isn't the most 'thrilling' idea, but what about adding a Skylift? You know, similar to what is at Cedar Point. My idea would be to have it start somewhere in the kiddie section and exit over by T2 or perhaps in the Mile High Falls section (whenever that opens). It's not that exciting an addition, but I doubt it would be too expensive and it adds another way to access the backside of the park besides that annoyingly long bridge. sfkk339
^ I wouldn't mind at all....It's under the height restriction and are cool...plus they don't take up to much space, so you can add some other stuff.
Guest
^Definitely. Mostly I think it would be really cool to have stronger ties between the two sides of the park. I've never been to any other part split up like KY Kingdom is. Heh, thinking along the same lines it would be really cool to see a steel coaster that crosses ring road. I can't imagine it happening any time soon (if ever) but it would definitely be unique.
sfkk339
Kentucky Kingdom is so uniqe due to its odd layout. How you cross the bridge over to the other side and how the waterpark is in the middle of everything makes the park very strange. I wouldn't mind a hyper on the other side of the park, just no room over there.

CoasterCard
Just drove by the northwest corner of the park and saw another sign back there to add to the Thunder Run sign; the Rainbow sign in all of its glory is back there along with the old diamond-shaped mirror that used to be in the middle of Breakdance. Also there is a full sized stock car from top fuel dragster ride back there as well. I wish I would have taken my camera. I have come to the conclusion that the area is not a bad area of town but that the park makes it look bad. The overgrowth is ridiculous and if not for the maintenance sheds back there, I would suggest selling that section of the park to the city for beautification and commerce. EnglndPatriots6
^ Hmm.. I wonder how much they want for the thunder run and rainbow signs. That stock car is probably from greezed lightnin. They moved that race car back around TT in 2005-2006.

sfkk339
Thunder Run 20th anniversary??? New cars! Hopefully....Didn't Thunder Run get the trains it has now in 2000 on it's 10th anniversary? I hope they refurbish the ride to the awesome status it had in the 90's.
EnglndPatriots6
I doubt anything will happen major besides minor track work. The major stuff im looking forward to are most likely going to be done on the 25th anniversary. For the 25th I expect to see a new train, all new track and support work. If that dont solve the roughness it has then i dont know what will.

Add a fence around it (both sides, top, and bottom) so people can't drop things onto the cars, or the people crossing the bridge. Spitting of course, we can't do anything about it. It happens on lots of skylifts.
nofearhere47111
I think they wont shut down the park although six flags RUINED IT And If they do destroy twisted sisters and/or The tube ride (cant think of name) it will probaly be replaced by something As Thrilling and fun or even more I myself rode the tube ride and didn't like of course it was a long time ago but it was going to be reopened I know people that work there but then they found problems with the chain so it will probaly not be Re-opened also i'm going on vacation and passing through Georgia so i'm going to the six flags there i don't think ill ride sup0er man ok i'm getting off topic srY! but i my self think They should fix chang Is running but Many times its broke down at the end I went up to the photo guy he had to keep track and he said it broke down 3 times in the last4 hours! EnglndPatriots6
The park isnt dead. And its not ruined. The park is getting multiple rides next season for the parks 25th anniversary along with new rides in 2011 for Six flags 50th anniversary. the new rides next season are going to be unique to SFKK only so i can only imagine what they are. A update on TT and MHF: MHF is staying. The chain was gone becuase it broke. And they still have plans to keep it. TT on the other hand is being removed and the trains are indeed being refurbished to be used on screamin eagle at SFSTL They do however plan on renovating that section so im guessing thats where the new rides will be unless they expand out beyone T2 into the land they own. Dear Six Flags...don't ruin Screamin Eagle. Not trying to say you are not telling the truth, but where are you getting this information? I imagine the only people who know what is going on at the park or SFSTL is the managers at those parks and upper SF Inc. people.
EnglndPatriots6
This has been confirmed to me by my friend whos a ride op, and she knows people in management. She wouldn't lie about something like this im pretty confident this is true. But believe what ya want. Another thing that adds to my belief in this is that she said not to tell people this, another thing she doesnt do.
