P. 410: Discovery Meadow details revealed!

She is tho. You dont know her, I do. Shes been very reliable in the past. She told me about what was going on in the back section before anyone else knew. Only time will tell, but i still believe it. I mean its logical since 1. the parks 25th, 2. the park hasnt gotten much in the past 3-4 years thats not for the waterpark.

I never said she wasn't trustworthy, but ask anyone ride ops are not a source. Iv'e heard from SFKK ride ops many times that the back section would be open on 2008 and then in 2009....there ride ops, they have no clue as to what is going on in future plans until the last second before they are announced.

^ I don't think you quite understand what he is saying. I get it.

While she may know some things that are going on in the park, most ride operators, heck even more supervisors are quite a few steps removed from the people who are making the actual decision of what capitol is going into a park.

Thus making her a "source" of information, but not a reliable one because as things may change (and they do) she's not going to be one of the people "in the know" as soon as those decisions are made.

If you told me she was a director at the park, that would be another story, but if she's just a ride op, then she's not a reliable source, sorry.

A ride op telling you what new rides a park is getting is like a gaffer telling you how a movie is going to be edited.

She just said new rides that would be unique to SFKK only. nothing specific but it got my hopes up for the park enough to make me buy a pass again next year.

But I do understand what you guys mean but knowing her for 6 years its pretty hard to not trust her. I'm just happy we should be getting new rides. I mean its the 25th anniversary of the park they gotta have something new to advertise it.

Wait, I thought the park opened in 1987. Wouldn't that make their 25th Anniversary in 2012?

^^ Slowly but surely that saying is becoming less and less true.

^ I have driven past that site numerous times recently and the dump could easily be transformed by a few pieces of heavy machinery.

Also, something unique to SFKK would be a non-clone. Every roller coaster at KK is a clone except for Thunder Run...

Thunder Run wasn't a clone, it actually inspired the 2 Hurler coasters, on the other hand, Chang basically is a clone of Mantis with just one more inversion, the 1st half of the layouts are exactly the same. Its just after the MCBR where the extra corkscrew was added instead of Mantis' figure eight.

Isn't Chang taller than Mantis, and doesn't Mantis swoop to the right after the lift and Chang goes to the left?

Yes Wes thats exactly right and the same with both of the Hurlers, Thunder Run swoops to the left while the Hurlers both swoop to the right.

I do believe SFKK will get a couple or better yet many new rides for 2010. If you think about it, Six Flags hasn't added flat rides or thrill rides in the park since they have took over Kentucky kingdom. The only flat rides the park had added is Twenty Sylvester pounce and bounce and also the speedway kids ride.

I have a friend on my Mock Trial team that works at the park, and the other day at a cookout we started talking about SFKK's future. I asked her if she had heard anything about what was going on with the Northwest Territory, and she told me that she didn't know much other than the fact that TT's trains are no longer on site.

But what I found interesting is that she said her supervisor told her that Tony Hawk was going to be sponsoring a coaster in the park, but she didn't know when this was supposed to happen.

Could the park be adding a THBS coaster in the near future? I for one would LOVE to see this happen...

If Twisted Twins was really a poorly engineered ride and that is a valid reason to let it fall apart, a Tony Hawk coaster would be an awesome replacement ride in that corner of the park. Could they have fit the Raptor clone back there that went to France? hahaha

If they used the portable version of Tony Hawk like the model at SFDK it could go up quicker. If Dorney Park and Darien Lake taught us anything it's you can put up portable models on blocks, filled in swimming pools.
