p. 513 - Wrath of Rakshasa dive coaster announced for 2025!

^Technically a week from Saturday. I just checked the schedule because I'm either bored or I'm that excited for it to start. For some strange reason it's open from 5-10 this Friday, and I can't go because I'm working.

^ Yeah, the park being open on Friday only to the public is very random. With the park having private events Saturday and Sunday, I just don't get why they will open the park for 5 hours. But hopefully, like the last 2 Fridays, it is completely dead.

I'm not understanding that either, but I certainly won't complain about it. I know from personal experience that the park had quite a few private events before FF started (and before the regular season started). With the economy the way it is these days, I'm sure companies are cutting back on spending and not doing corporate buy outs for theme parks. Maybe they didn't have a private event going on and decided to open the park up. Who knows what the reasoning is, but it's a nice gesture.

Some of us got together last min., and went on a Sunday about two weeks ago. The park was busy, but it wasn't jammed pack either. I think the longest wait was 10 min. I love going on Friday's during FF due to it being empty, and being open later.

^While it's not a new ride, I am actually kind of excited for this. The parade has been in need of an upgrade and I think lots of families will love this. I remember when I was at Six Flags St. Louis I overheard lots of kids and parents reminding each other not to miss the parade. Overall I think that this is a smart move for the park but it will be intersting to see how they will market this.

I hate to add to the whole Chang rumor, but with Sky Trek Tower being repainted reminds me of how Viper was painted before X2 opened and how DejaVu was painted before Terminator opened

BTW I think the blue will look striking and certainly welcome change to the SFGAm skyline.

I'm glad the tower is getting re-painted. It will give it a new fresh look.

The only thing I question is why they painted "Six Flags" on the tower in May only to paint over it a few months later?

A repainted Sky Treck Tower will look nice , and hopefully more rides and buildings are repainted during the off season.

I assume the repainted tower will look similar to CGA's, which looks pretty nice.

As for what's coming in 2009, it should be pretty good for the park. I've heard good things about the parade at other parks, and the public seems to really like them. I'm fine with 2010 being an off year, but I wonder why Six Flags keeps putting a "Future Site of New Attraction" sign in front of Space Shuttle America if nothing goes there the next season.

I'm guessing it's for Fright Fest like last year when the sign was out.

I've read elsewhere from someone that did some photoshoping of Chang over the areas discussed, among other places, that it won't fit anywhere without major changes. MAJOR changes.

I just don't see it happening. I could be wrong, but I think it'll head elsewhere.

Scream! @Six Flags Maic Mountain

Medusa @Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

Superman Ultimate Flight @Six Flags Great Adventure

If Chang goes to Great America, it will share a common factor with the rides mentioned above...

Themed to a parking lot!

The person that was doing all the "test fitting" said Chang wouldn't fit into the area by the go-carts or Space Shuttle. It'd still stick way out into the parking lot. Not that they wouldn't do this, but considering how that parking lot fills up, I doubt it.

^ Actually, looking at his photoshop for the shuttle area (and sliding it out farther to clear the Pictorium) they would only lose 80-90 spaces, and they could easily get most of those back by repaving and reopening the section of parking lot over by the Tollway sign.

They';; find a way to make it fit...this is a park that they're desperate to spoil no matter how much other parks in the chain need the ride more.

6.5/10

A better troll would invoke the two instances where SFGAm received record-breaking/innovative rides a year prior to SFGAdv receiving clones (Shockwave in 1988, Batman in 1992).
