Wish we had a perfect side elevation perspective
i<3coasters Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 That airtime hill is going to be absolutely ridiculous. Can't wait for Mini-New Hotness!
Dr. M Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 That track for the overbank looks so utterly unique and insane... does it kind of remind anyone else of Crystal Beach Cyclone? Not that I'm one of those people that kind of obsesses over that ride but that's the first thing I thought of when I saw it.
traincrossin Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I'm starting to think the lift will be up by the 31st with track work being completed by end of April. They still have to go through and pump the grout in all the track once they get it up. Testing should begin the 1st week of May or so IMO. Glad to see we have a construction management expert here in the forums.

CPSFMMCW Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 woo hoo they're working on that massive overbank! yay!
yay101 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Oh my god I just noticed there's track on the overbank now! Nice!
DanM64 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Having the track laid really makes me realize how ridiculous that overbank is going to be! It doesn't look natural at all. I love it!
Dr. M Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 "Overbank" doesn't even do it justice. That ain't no Millenium Force-style turnaround. It's like a pin-point turn 150 feet in the air. Can anyone think of a turn on a ride that looks even remotely like that?
GayCoasterGuy Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 When I first saw the drawings, that first curve reminded me of this: But much more extreme! (And partly wood.) Maybe this is the mini version:
glouthan Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 The overbank doesn't look structurally possible - RMC just blows my mind!
BBH Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 The closest thing I can compare the first turn to in terms of banking is Leviathan's first turnaround. It looks great, I can't wait to see the dive loop finished as well. Nice to see they can make so much construction progress in one day.
rcjp Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I like how unsupported the track looks in the overbank, makes it look even more awesome!
Goooose Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Look how long that ascent is!! Its going to be going SOOO FAST
thedirtyspaniard Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Seeing it in person is something else entirely... I took these pictures just this afternoon. You can pretty much see Goliath's overbank and even the tip of the dive loop as a part of the SFGAm skyline in the distance when approaching the park from any direction... when the lift goes up, it's going to be stunning. From the behind employee lot fence.. my jaw was on the floor; the structure is massive... Rails and track elements in the distance, no sign of trains onsite anywhere Hard to see, but if you look between the two towers of V2, the angled line and large block structure is Goliath's overbank... again, this is going to be quite a nice addition to the skyline from this view.

Meteornotes Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 This is looking better and better with every picture. Really looking forward to riding this summer! dt
