PKI Jizzman
Hey doods. So Kings Island got this new ride, Diamondback. It's pretty awesome. It looks very pretty, the lines move quickly...even with a two train op. Diamondback has lots of airtime, and a very...very steep drop that might rival Millennium Force. Does it live up to the hype and expectations of a custom B&M hyper? YES. Does it excede the hype and expectations? ...maybe. I got about 10 rides, front seat...back seat, and everything in between. It's a front seat ride. But the backseat is pretty darn good, too. Any negatives? While most people talk about the trims, I'll throw something else in there. -Trim and MCBR do suck, but they don't take much away. -To me, especially when comparing to Goliath SFOG...the helix and the hammerhead seem weak. Goliath, I was PLASTERED into my seat...but Diamondback just kind of twirls you around. Fun? Sure. Outstanding element? Eh. I think it's a top 10 ride, I'd put Maverick over it, but I'm not ready to say anything else! It's a fantastic ride that Kings Island has been in need for. There's B&M floater air and surprise!!! OMFG!!! I'm going to fall out of my seat!!!!! air! Onto the photos! I know they kind of suck....it was raining half the time. Yes....Diamondback + Rain = Ouch. One other cool thing was that I saw a guy wearing a B&M hat...so I thought, "Where else could you get a B&M hat..besides B&M!" So I walked up to the guy and asked if he was from B&M, and he was. I told him it was cool to meet him and great job on a fantastic coaster! I'll be updating pictures throughout tonight! You can't hide from Diamondback! A bunch of red steel all over Rivertown. 230ft of awesome THE point of no return! Cresting the hill... After a few rides, I decided to get some pictures from around the park! This is where the on ride photo is, heading up into the MCBR Off the ride and ready for my next! This guy was my buddy the whole day. First seat of choice...last seat on the right. Oh man...I'm in the station! Reach..you can almost touch the water! Reclining in a B&M seat....pure comfort. Lift hill enthusiasts...I didn't forget you! It's steep...... First train of the day (Hey PKIBoy!) And yes, it's sprinking. After years of anticipation....B&M master-work has reached Kings Island! Run....run to Diamondback!! cinciDAWGS12
This is a GREAT ride! I rode it around 30 times during the media preview on Friday and it was just what KI needed. And JZ is right, it's definitely a front seat coaster! Much more airtime there.
FitchCoaster
I'm so jealous, I wished I lived closer! Looks like you had a great time. I loved the photos. The closeup photos of the train are my favorite, I love the front car with the fangs/eyes. So cool.
PKI Jizzman
The pictures aren't fuzzy...it's the rain you're seeing I'm sorry these look so bad! HEY! YOU! HANDCHECK! Do I see a smile? ..well, if you look upsidown. He better like out of midcourse airtime. Everyone else does! Mr. Redriderhood is NOT happy. I think....I THINK...Fry took a shot similar to this up at Behemoth. I'm not sure if it was him though, but thanks for the inspiration! This part is all sorts of amazingness. Twisty forces, airtime pop, then drop into the ravine. Here's what happens after the second hill...and until the airtime hills. Maybe not so pretty... It's so pretty! Diamondback goess alll over Rivertown. Hey Jared!!! Now you're at ground level! You've got a bit more of free falling to do. Yeah, it's prettty much likeee that. ALMOST 90* DEGREESE Half Poncho Half Army dude is unsure of his riding experience. You really feel the speed coming out of the ravine. Up into the second hill. Rain or no rain, it's awesome! YFWE
Looks incredible, can't wait to head out there sometime this summer. Friend of mine went yesterday and said he was in a four-hour line for it... I still need to get his opinion on it, but from the looks of it, I'm sure it was worth it.
SeaWhippet
Great pics! Sorry your day was a rainy one. I was there on FRI and the skies were perfect BLUE but the three trains went out half empty most of the time. On SAT, the trains were full but the sky was ... COLORLESS. ?r Here's one my fav pics from beneath the first drop. This guy seems to be enjoying himself. :

This guy seems to be enjoying himself. : Must have gotten some special privelages for that shot, I couldn't get that underneath the first drop...the fences must be pretty recent! Cha-Ching! Marshmallow puff rules all!!! Look out, Diamondback's going to pop out and bite you! That'd be a great "Show me your terrified face for a Bag-O-Crap" routine. But I have no crap. Sir...sir..sir. I do believe now you owe money to some cop. No, not the parking ticket. Into the finale! Lots of details on the trains! Haha, almost the same shot I took during the winter tour! Money! When ya go down, when ya go down downnn Personal space, plz Crypt. This is the part when the drop dissapears beneath you. Ohhh yesss!!! You spin me right round, right round.... Sooo many different faces! Who knew up and down is so great? QUICK! Everyone make a squirrel face for Elissa! FFfffFff-ffff-ff-f-f!!!! GrRRRRrRRR, I'm a scary bear! Reon
Oh yeah, the mini souvenier stand! Anyways, I've got my photos ready. Should I put them in the LSHoF thread, or make my own topic for the review and pics?

downunder
Great pictures, I went to KI two years too early. I'll be interested to see how people think it compares to Behemoth.
dino
Great pictures. The ride looks pretty good, but it's the faces of the people riding that make it seem great.

Emiroo
This photo is stolen from KICentral.com, but is so impressive I had to post it anyway. Check out the line! (The back of the line is on the left.) Looks like 2 hours+ to me. Diamondback Opening Day Line (Photo Courtesy of KICentral.com)
Looty
Nice Photos! I was there on Saturday too. One ridiculous thing I experienced is the single rider line. You truly have to be single to use the line and if you know the people around you, you can't use it! My friends and I were more than willing to split up to save 1+ hours and we couldn't. It really pissed me off considering that more than half of the photos I have seen of this coaster have all had at least one empty seat. The line seemed to move pretty quick though... netdvn
Man I cannot get enough of these Diamondback pics. The ride is looking more and more impressive with every TR, not to mention the awesome trains.

Well, I think it's okay when it's 1-2 people....but any more than that I'd say you're abusing the line. I mean, it's single riders for a reason....two people is fine in my opinion. But when you have like, 3+ people you're just trying to cut the lines.
