All tragedies are horrendous but which were you most affected by or shocked you the hardest?

Mine was John Lennon's murder.

Even though it happened before my time, I'm heartbroken over it.

Mods, I did a search and didn't find anything, if I'm an idiot and there's already a thread, please post.

Kirby Puckett. When I heard he had a stroke, I was like "hang in there" but it ultimately took his life. He had pure power but he never needed steroids. Arguably the greatest player of the late 80s-early 90s.

I'd say 'Lil Wayne's "music" is a pretty big tragedy, haha.

Seriously though, I think the Hollywood tragedy that hit me the hardest was Heath Ledger's death. As over-publicized as I think it was, he was such an amazing actor, and I'm not just saying this based on his performance in The Dark Knight. He got completely immersed in every one of his roles.

"The Day the Music Died."

I'd consider this to be a part of Hollywood and was certainly a tragedy.

Yes! and I'm not just saying this because he was really good looking or anything but, he did perform very well. We lost him too early.

Nicholas Cage, a man who annoys me so much it's not even funny. How many ghostriders need to suck? I mean, the coaster is rough as hell and still kicked the movies ass.

Steve McQueen, the man was the epitomy of cool in the 60's and 70's(get Bullit on DVD BTW). I wonder if he would've lived, would he been at the level of a latter day eastwood(Writing, Directing Staring)

1939- Amidst the glitz and the glitter of a bustling movie town at the height of its golden age The Hollywood Tower Hotel was a star in its own right, a beacon for the show-business elite. Now, something is about to happen that will change all that...

The day movies went from using big, high detail sets and props, and instead, rely on crappy CGI! And wires in kung fu movies. The second you see someone using wires, the movie is RUINED!
