Solid Gold
I feel like this situation has some direct effect on the increasing US national debt...

Jew
@JediMaster and @Jew-- The best way to paraphrase this article is that through legal wrangling, the Freestyle Music Park USA side of the company was able to absolve all of their debt and repurchase the park completely debt free for 7 million? Great Scam, Well Played... Yup. Running the same scam again. After spending $400 million on a failure, they declared bankruptcy and then bought the park back for $20 million as FPI MBE using a "loan" from themselves (FPI US). So that when when it failed a second time, they were the leading creditor and could fend off other claims/liens against the property. Which of course allowed them to buy it again from themselves out of foreclosure for an even lower price. I'm sure they will find another partner on their scam to "manage" the park so they can run up more bills/take out loans they never intend to pay. gisco
I doubt there are any serious plans to re-open the park. They are going to sell off the rides and the property for a nice profit now that they are coming out of the bankruptcy.
SteelFusion
Yeah, I have a hard time seeing this actually happen. Would love to see it, but it just seems like the hole would get deeper and deeper and this cycle would just continue.
Canobie Coaster
I really wish this park good luck, but the fact that it failed a few years ago under a big license such as Hard Rock doesn't bode well for this park. Was it ever crowded during the short time it was open?
Evanaj15
AS long as they keep the B&M sit down. I'm happy
Intimidator305
Was it ever crowded during the short time it was open? There were certain days where Hard Rock Park and Freestyle Music Park had a fair amount of people within the park, but a lot of the time it was practically dead. The only day that I would say the park was extremely crowded would be on the 4th of July when Freestyle Music Park did the 4 tickets for 17.76 deal and they actually had a good crowd when they did the extension of that deal where you could get 2 tickets for 17.76. As soon as the prices went back up to regular prices though, it went back to slow nearly empty days.
cfc
wow what a roller coaster ride this park has given since it debuted, I was shocked to see that it's reopening next season but also kind of excited, the credits are still out there and with the attendance (according to pictures on here from other people's visits) being low, looks like re-ride city Not with their operations. superlegostarwars
Am I the only one that likes this park? I would love to have to back open! I was a huge fan of both HRP and FMP, I love the music theme, and the cool rides and scenery.
Intimidator305
I absolutely loved it when it was HRP, when it was FMP it didn't have the same atmopshere at all. IF this park ever opens up again they would be better off ditching the whole "music" theme and go generic since FMP already did half of the work for them... It would cost less money and the Myrtle Beach GP could careless if it had a theme as long as admission was a lot cheaper.

Rollercoaster Rider
Back When Hard Rock Park (2008) was In Question, I Came Up With an Idea to Retheme the Whole Park to "Worlds of Adventure" and Ditching the Whole Rock NC-17 Crowd. I'll post it if you want me too. (Many was just renames/removals)
dwtc30813z
why don't they open it and charge $10 a person, while the banks figue it out? better than nothing!

Rollercoaster Rider
There's A Moral to this Story. MUSIC Isn't that Interesting. Especially when it's Old Music that only 40-60 Year Olds Would Know... That Don't Travel Either that or Myrtle Beach has a Weak Local Population. 805Andrew
I think this place would have done way better in Vegas. The whole music theme would have fit there with the Hard Rock brand especially since they already have the Hard Rock Hotel plus Vegas gets way more tourism then Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach may get a decent number of regional tourists but Vegas gets them from across the world.

It is nicknamed "The Music City" And Nashville's County Population is higher than Horry County I Don't think Las Vegas Would Work. It seems like they're trying to get rid of anything Non-Casino. robbalvey
At this point I can only assume that there must be an ulterior motive for wanting to purchase and open the park again. No one who is a smart business person would try for a THIRD TIME to open a failed business...unless there is another agenda for doing so.
harper83087
Not knowing much about this park other than it has "the b&m sitdown with the big blimp building" and "that one car ride with the weird ferris wheel lift", would a re-theme of the park do it any justice? Is its placement good, where the crowds come from etc? I thought it had potential when I heard about the concept but clearly I was wrong.

OldJJman
I Think it would've fit better in Nashville. It is nicknamed "The Music City" Oh, how I love the irony!! Nashville had an amusement park that fails (Opryland), and it's turned into a shopping mall. Myrtle Beach has a shopping mall that fails, and it's turned into an amusement park (which also fails!) cfc
^It's all the work of the Joker! He's probably using the now abandoned Hard Rock/Freestyle Music Park as his hideout to plot his next nefarious scheme!
