SharkTums Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 It's not because of the lack of coasters, or the 20 hours on a plane...it's because in Australia many things are backwards or the wrong way...including Spiders that eat Birds!!!! NOT COOL!!! Apparently this is not a fake. It's a real spider, eating a real bird. It is because of stuff like this that I'm not in any real hurry to get back to Australia!!!
coastercrazed49 Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 I think I speak for everybody with saying Oh S***!
AllenA07 Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 That's the thing that nightmares are made out of!
Cygnus12 Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 I would crap myself, scream like a little girl, and then faint if I saw that edging towards me...
natatomic Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 I just don't know how Aussies do it. I wouldn't last a day down under.
supertrooper Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 What the....what? How can a place have things like that and wombats? Please tell me that there aren't any wombat eating spiders.
Disney Dood Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Spiders don't normally scare me but I believe the only thing I would say if I saw that thing would be... HOLY BALLS RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
chemical_echo Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Ever see a manhunter spider? (I think that's what it's called). My girlfriend's aunt showed me a pic of one from when she lived in Australia. The things apparently come into your house, hide (in places like under your bed blankets), and when you get near it, will actually chase you. I won't be living there anytime soon.
cfc Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Australia--Where Nature has more ways to kill you than any other place on Earth.
Cameron Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Yes .. now I get to post pictures of Clock Spider!!! And a close-up! These are actually reasonably common in Australia, but relax they're totally harmless .. no venom at all. They are actually really cool, as they eat lots of really annoying bugs (including other poisonous spiders!). Once removed, it reveals a huntsman spider! A guy comes home and finds what looks like four g-i-a-n-t spider legs sticking out from behind his clock..
Airtime&Gravity Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 ^Even if they are harmless, I still would never want one around me. While I'm not scared of most spiders, I'd run if I saw one of those in my home. As for the spider eating the bird, I didn't think it was real when I saw it on the Fox News website a few days ago, and knowing that it is real, it is amazing(and scary) that spiders can be that big.
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Oh. My. God. I would shit, piss, and vomit at the same time if I saw that. I really think that about sums it up. Vekoma "Might have a giant spider nightmare for the first time in 10 years tonight..." Fan Boy
Goliath513 Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 ^ Now I finally have a good reason to go to Australia sometime!
paintballer Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 I just picked my feet up on my chair because of that picture....
larrygator Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Hold on a second. What the hell were the idiots on last night's epsiode of MonsterQuest doing in Texas and the Amazon failing miserably in their quest for a giant spider. I guess those dopes should have been in Australia, if the picture is real.
chmilo24 Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 I wonder if that spider could eat other pets besides birds, maybe I can feed my neighbors annoying dog to it. --Chris
ebl Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 "...it's because in Australia many things are backwards or the wrong way...including Spiders that eat Birds!!!!" (SharkTums) And all this time I thought it was a problem with Vegemite... Eric
paintballer Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 And all this time I thought it was a problem with Vegemite... Eric Eeeew Vegemite....... *Vomits on Vegimite to make it better*
Kennyweird Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 I actually looked this up. Apparently the spider is a Golden Orb Weaver and the bird it's feasting on is a Chestnut-breasted Mannikin, a type of finch, which is at most 3-4 inches in length. So in reality the spider is probably only about the size of your palm. In other words, the spider looks bigger than it really is.
TheRapidsNerd Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Awww....I thought he was kinda cute. The wombat too. The "NOT COOL!!!" in the very first post cracked me up.
Mr. Starr Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 *To make up for the bird eating spider* Aww
Manny In England Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 But they sleep nineteen hours a day! They are not a redeeming factor in my opinion.
