Thanks guys, I really appreciate the positive criticism... All of these are almost a year old... I'm a senior at college and I don't have the time to do RCT3 anymore. I have had a few project ideas over the summer....

^^It been a while since I had posted some of these and I couldn't remember which onces I had posted....

^The last picture is not the Outlaw. Its a subtly named coaster called "the Cyclone"... All of th wood is hand built.... took a a week for me to finish and it still wasn't perfect. One of those project I gave up on...

Updates on the Marine World thread will come back when the park is ready to open. But for now enjoy these pictures. There may be more in this thread in the future...

This may or may not become something... also this is just a concept, not the actual ride building. I have always wanted to do some kind of Disney NCSO park, but thought it was impossible... until... Indiana Jones and the Legend of Anubis.

Please note, the foliage isnt there at all... I just built this goofing off and may expand on it after cajun. Also, the fan is just for "rooftop stuff" like on NE, but is not part of the ride... yay or nay for ncso. If this project does happen the building will be much bigger and there will be landscaping and stuff added.

Over at NE K0NG said something about NCSO. I'll clean it up a bit, but it was basically "use the objects you have available instead of wasting time with objects that are limited in aesthetics and function. NCSO is a bit silly".

Of course it was a bit more rude but you get the point. CS looks and feels better than NCSO.

^^My response to that is this....

[This is just a rant in general, in no way is this directly related to mememe]

The new CS parks that have been getting released look over done. Its like they need to grab every little detail, and make every single thing as realistic as imposilbe. Even the fantasy parks with less realistic elements are ruined by this, and its just awful. In my terms of a good park in RCT2 nowadays is when you can do something crazy with the game. This is one of the reasons why I just can't do CS anymore, because your expected to meet up to the modern terms of bad atmosphere, but insane detail. An example of something recent that is good in my opinion is BABs little mini park and CC9s ongoing park. There are more than those two, but its still a small number.

When the game first came out, and this got community attention. It had little to no custom scenery, and very few hacks. Soon parks started coming out. First you had the recreations that were viewed at as "the best thing in the world" to someone who was new to downloading. Then a bunch of fantasy parks came out, and to be honest all most all of them were great, despite their lack of hacks and massive amounts of CS. When 8cars came out, someone made a SFOG recreation which I consider the first park that started some of the standereds for NE, as you can see a lot of stuff that is influenced by that park.

The raw feeling of RCT2 made a lot of parks that are even recognized as some of the best parks today. Here are some examples =

I can go on and on of all the stuff as I see golden. Most of the parks have a lot of water, lots of buildings, lots of colors, and just som really good and original coasters.

With the realistic wave of the new RCT2 style comes with less original designs, and stuff that just copies other people.

Point is out of all of this; Just because someone doesn't do it the same way everyone else does, doesn't mean it is bad or should be bumped up to that style.

Jag är ute

EDIT: I will have something to preview tonight.

^I kinda take offense to the "insane detail, but bad atmosphere view" you present in your argument. I don't know about you, but I still strive for recreating an atmosphere within my work, whether it be a Six Flags park, a Himalayan mountain monastery, or a small FOAM park, as well as adding the appropriate details. Looking at some of the best parkmakers, they evoke wonderful atmospheres that the details are designed to enhance. Detail without meaning is excessive and pointless, but if it is meant to enhance the "story," it works fabulously. Would you criticize Disney for having insane details, or for copying real-life locations? Many great parkmakers do the same. Besides, a lot of the parks you put as examples are full of insane details and I would argue that they transcend RCT's raw quality. We want to transcend that quality. If we wanted to see RCT purely as created, we'd still be playing scenarios. However, some of us, myself included, love RCT's abilities to push boundaries. Realism is about recreating a potential real-life location, providing the right details, textures, foliage, landscaping, coasters, and most important, ATMOSPHERE, to accurately convey your views. If you see all realism as the same, and all recent work as the same, you really need to see more of what's going on.

Please do not limit your perspective with limited knowledge. Us realists are interested in how things work, or how things interact. We love the atmosphere created by composition of elements, or how a building would function. Over done to you is well thought-out to us, and I would suggest you, as well as anyone else, should take some time to really go through recent realist releases, and see if they can immediately remind you of a visit to your homepark, or that TPR trip you took. We still want to take you to these fantasy worlds to tell a story, and we use the details to create and support an atmosphere. The only difference is that we want our work to be plausible.

Couldn't agree anymore.

Please though, can we please drop this whole NCS vs. CS? It's pointless, because after all this is still a game, and it is a game to model that of real life parks, or fantasy driven fun.
