Wes Posted January 31, 2009 Author Posted January 31, 2009 ^ I don't get why people get all pissy, you know what you were doing is technically infringing on their intellectual property and they have every right to axe your video. It's like when people get mad for getting a speeding ticket when they were going 15mph above the limit, you know the limit is 65, you can't get angry if the cop pulls you over. Don't use music from major labels if you don't want to have your videos removed, there's a bajillion unsigned bands (all of them better than red hot shitty peppers) out there you can use music from even better don't support major labels don't listen to music from major labels kill your parents
spacemtfan Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 ^ Alright, the one with the RHCP song, I can understand. But another video of mine was removed because of ten seconds of "Surfin' USA". I still don't understand why it had to be muted. It's only ten seconds! But...it's already been done. What's the point of fighting it? There isn't anything I can use in my defense. It's just that it makes me sad to see good AMVs and such get removed. But Wes, you have a good point. Maybe I will start looking into underrated talent for my RCT3 videos next time. ---space "catch Speeders on truTV" mtfan

the ghost Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 I've been reading this thread and I've seen there are some metal fans out here so I'd post here as well since I play in a metal band myself and I'd like your opinions Our band is called Sleepless Malefice and we play a sort of Atmospheric Death-Metal on our myspace there are 2 songs of our promo-cd that came out last summer Enjoy to all who listened to this and please tell me what you guys think www.myspace.com/sleeplessmalefice YOUR DRUMMER IS FRICKEN AWESOME!!!! Which one are you on the band? My best advice. BE LIKE THESE GUYS IF YOU ARE A BLACK METAL BAND, also add a little more Guitar and play fast and loud, your guitarist is talented from what I hear, but he needs more fast solo's. I'm not telling you to be stupid like Dragon Force and make music you cant actually play, but add a few more quick solos and riffs. For some reason you remind me of DETHKLOK and that's a good thing! Keep it up. If you do not like scary music do listen! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49ZJqqrr6jk&feature=related Add a little more guitar and a little more mosh stuff. You guys reming me of Dethklock for some reason. BTW You guys kick Michael Junior's(my grandma's favorite singer from Belgium)ASS, and then mutilate him like a giant blender. MAY METAL NEVER DIE
BelgianGuy Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 @Ghost To answer the question who I am, I play second guitar and my name is Stijn and yes we have more really fast solo's but these are 2 songs we've recorded almost a year back now and our current work is more deathcore and such with the crazy arpeggio's being worked on

Vekoma Fan Boy Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 BelgianGuy: I just got a chance to listen to your band, I thought it was OK, not entirely my type of music, but it was not bad. I just never really liked the whole Death Metal/Deathcore scene; except for Divine Heresy, they added a good Melodic/Groove metal touch to their music! Although, they really suck now since they kicked Tommy (Vocalist) out... He added a good touch with his clean vocals in Failed Creation and Savior Self. (You might want to go check out those 2 songs, they're great!) /ramble And to supplement "Her Ghost in the Fog" that the ghost posted, here's Born In a Burial Gown and Nymphetamine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhSe2Iwi74k
Disney Dood Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 ^^ I'll admit U2's song didn't sound bad at the Grammys, but the studio version is flat out awful. They should have stopped after HTDAAB.
U2Rox Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 They should have stopped after HTDAAB. Just a thought, but you might want to wait until the album comes out.
DiSab Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 ^At first, I wasn't too thrilled by the new song. But after a few more listens I started to get more into it. I have a feeling this new album will be one of those that you need to listen to a few times before you can really make a judgment about it.
the ghost Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 ^With that said, If you compare Kanye to the like of Talib Kweli, Black thought, Mos Def, Planet Asia, Jurassic 5, or The Pharcyde, would you still think Kanye West keeps the vibe of hip hop alive? Can you compare the lyrical content in "Cant Tell Me Nothin'" to let's say, "Mecca & The Soul Brother" by Pete Rock & CL Smooth? If West tried to get by on lyrical skills and the mediocre producing he does, I'd have no problem with him whatsoever. There is a lot of commercial music I listen to. I just find it slighty contradictory for someone to be so obsessed with the very thing he says in his music is taboo. Being commercial is one thing, but dropping "All Falls Down", and Living live in "Flashing lights" seems like you don't really create music to express a certain message or agenda. There's nothing wrong with making music solely for money, West just lies about it. Lies to us, and lies to himself. As NAS said,"Hip hop is dead" ITS ALL ABOUT METAL!!!!!
BelgianGuy Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 As NAS said,"Hip hop is dead" ITS ALL ABOUT METAL!!!!! AMEN!!!
BlackHole2005 Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 As NAS said,"Hip hop is dead" EPIC FAIL. Hip hop isn't dead! It is very much alive, I mean what do you hear mostly in the charts today? Hip Hop! If hip hop were dead, then there wouldn't be any hiphop, and that would mean the world would be missing some extremely talented musicians. You know the red hot chilli peppers? Well 90% of their fans today are "Grungers" and despise the living daylights of hip hop, well I can tell you, RHCP used to be an underground rap band long before they are what they are today. Also, some hip hop artists can write lyrics far better than any other metal band I have heared. Dizzy Rascal here in the UK won the mercury prize, which is an award for album of the year! Roots Manuva is another example, it has been hailed by the UK press as the voice of urban britain! I really do hate people who say "Hip Hop is crap" Hip hop isn't crap, If you search long and hard you can find some really decent hip hop artists. I mean I know it's peoples different tastes and stuff, but don't base your opinions of hiphop based on 50 Cent or Snoop Dogg. Cheers, BlackHole2005
Disney Dood Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Underground rap rules, chart toppers not so much. End of story. Lil' Wayne is playing guitar on his next album.... hahahaha.
the ghost Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 First of all Lil Wayne +Guitar= Second of all^^ RHCP used to suck. I hate all rap mixed in with rock unless they are Nu Metal like Korn, Hollywood Undead, or Slipknot(not rap at all, but still the heaviest form of Nu metal)
U2Rox Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2GaCnAiuvo Depeche Mode performed thier single "Wrong" at the Echo Awards yesterday! Album release April 20 and 21!!! North American Tour Dates announced, depechmode.com I have a feeling this is going to be one hell of an album!!!
BeemerBoy Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 For all Mozz Fans, Morrissey's latest video, I'm throwing My Arms Around Paris, Album, Years of Refusal to be Released Feb. 17, U.S. Tour Begins in March!! You know, my wife and I are big Morrissey fans, but I have to admit we were pretty let down by his show about four years ago (?). We finally got the chance to see him at a pretty intimate venue in Atlanta and were seriously stoked. The tickets were about $65 (not scalped) a piece and we were literally about 30 feet from the stage. The problem? Well, he only played 80 frickin' minutes! Oh yeah, and much of the time in between songs he was busy ranting about President Bush. I'm sorry, but somebody with the career and song catalog such as his should give me at least two hours onstage for that price...no exceptions. Also, there's a primary reason I bought the ticket to your show. Sing the phone book. Sing Yo Gabba Gabba songs. Sing anything...just sing. I don't want to listen to you spew political ramblings all night. I can buy a Rolling Stone mag if I wanna know who you're voting for, what you're eating, or who you're not having sex with. Don't get me wrong, the set list was awesome (what little of it there was), he sounded great, and I still love his music, but that night kind of turned me off to any future Morrissey shows.
Sir Clinksalot Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 New U2 album = 2 thumbs up. MUCH better than the last two. It's no "Joshua Tree, Actung Baby", but it's good.
