Does anyone know any good Metalcore or Hardcore covers. I have already heard Misery Business by Sea Of Treachery; Still Fly by The Devil Wears Prada; and Since U Been Gone by A Day To Remember. So if you know any that are like the ones above would be cool.

Correction, the band's name is I Set My Friends on Fire. And yea, that wasn't a very good job on that song.

But thier actual music is really good!

I just found out some good news. Led Zeppelin decided to end the search for a replacment for Robert Plant. And I dont understand why they wanted to reunite under a new singer. No one can replace Robert Plant and it is about time they realized it.

Lady Gaga has been called the next big thing in pop music, and I think that it's true.

If by that you mean "probably have a song or two that gets radio airplay, gets played at every high school dance for six months, tries to recover her career with a new album, fails, then fades to black forever", then yeah, you're probably right.

I have a lot of respect for Lady Gaga. She actually WRITES, and according to her bio online, she learned piano by ear around the age of 4, and at the age of 17 was one of only 20 students admitted early to the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. In addition to her own stuff, she has written songs for the Pussycat Dolls and Britney Spears.

I think she's very talented (WAY more so than some of the disasters out there in popular music) and I hope she has a long, successful career ahead of her.

75% of metal fans are angsty teenagers from religious households.

I thought you would be right, but at Mayhem last year there were a lot of people in their thirties all the way up to their sixties. Also, we are not an overly religious family, and I'm not a rebel. I just like metal.

^Hah! Thanks, also
I will probably be the only christian at a concert.

Nope. I too am a metal loving christian!

You two arn't alone. I'm also Christian MetalHead and alot of the bands I like are also Christian; such as: underOath, As I Lay Dying, Agaust Burns Red, Stryper, The Chariot, and Dashboard Confessional(Yes I know they're not metal).

^Yeah last year at Mayhem Fest there were few teenagers and a lot of adults. Just about everyone I saw had a wristband on(over 21). The only place where I saw people 21- were at the Free RockStar stands.

I can't wait for this years Mayhem Fest, I think last years will still be better(SLIPKNOT and Disturbed KICK A$$!!!) but Slayer and Marilyn Manson will probably change my mind after I see them.

Now, I'm really into my Metal, but recently I've developed a taste for The Cult. Anybody else here a Cult fan? I mean, I can't say I'm a true fan because I've never really bothered with them, but whereas with Avenged Sevenfold, 30 Seconds To Mars and Bullet For My Valentine, I can say I'm a true fan of those bands because I've been listening to them right from the start.

Also, ABBA Rock My Mum loves ABBA!

I would go to a metal show just for the pits. I'm not a big fan of the music but man, those pits looks like so much fun. Sure, I'd probably die because some huge guy would fall on me, but hey, it'd be fun for the first few hours.

The Album that I've listening to as I'm typing this is Doves- Some Cities. I just founed it in my sisters bedroom, and it's one of the best albums I've eared in a while. Just a collection of real feel good songs, but these guys are just so talented. Also, K'naan! I never heared of him at all and found him out on some website, he's brilliant. He's a rapper but he doesn't rap about your average gangster rap stuff, he's from somali in africa and he writes about politics, violence that he has witnessed in his past life etc. all to samples of world music bands, it's really unique stuff.

Cheers,

You may want to check out Dimmu Borgir (DIM-oo bor-GEAR). They are a Symphonic Black Metal band and the stuff from their newest album (In Sorte Diaboli) is great! (I'm listening to the album right now actually!) You may also want to check out Cradle of Filth (Symphonic Black Metal/Extreme Metal) and Children of Bodom. (Melodic Death Metal/Power Metal--Much better than it sounds actually!)

Maybe I will just have to drag myself with my friend Gavin to some of his hardcore shows. Sounds like a good time.

Gavin Kostanzer? or however you spell it. He mentioned you when I told him I liked roller coasters and that you lived in Tustin and I made the connection. You should go to mayhem fest, except Gavin hates metal. I tried to get him to listen to slipknot and he hates it.

I love their cover of hallowed be thy name. I personally like it better than the original, because its so unique.

I know this really belongs in the "rant" thread, but this has to do with music.

I hate the WMG (Warner Music Group). Recently, they have blocked and removed so many music videos from YouTube. They even go as far as to mute a video for 10 seconds of a song. This has happened to me. One of my popular videos had to be removed because it had "By The Way" by Red Hot Chilli Peppers (not the whole song).

I was on the verge of filling one of those DMCA complaints, but I knew it wasn't going to help (though, one YTP member named "WalrusGuy" got his videos back by filing a complaint against a toothpaste company).

Sometimes I think they are pushing it. Shouldn't they be happy that people are enjoying and using their songs in creative ways (AMV's, parodies, etc.)?

I don't know. I just don't like what the WMG are doing. What do you think?
