Froggies111 Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 I believe Sheikra is the best roller coaster in the United States Because it has very cool things on it like the drop and the immelman. What's your favorite roller coaster in the u.s.? By, Froggies111
Froggies111 Posted July 11, 2005 Author Posted July 11, 2005 Also add the park name of the roller coaster, what city and country it is in also... Thanx, Froggies111
SharkTums Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Gosh, that's a hard question....Best Roller Coaster in the US...if I *HAD* to choose *one* to survive and all others would be destroyed I would go with: S:RoS at SFNE Elissa "but don't hold me to that!" Alvey
ChrisZer0 Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 For me at least, Titan at SFoT since its my home park Chris "Who Wants A Pink Thing" Zer0
zaneymon Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 From the ones ive been on i would have to say Ghostrider at Knotts Berry Fram
DerekRx Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 As of this moment in time, I'd also have to say Superman: Ride of Steel at Six Flags New England. Now how it will hold up in a few more years, a few more pitched people, and ever decreasing maintenance budgets, that may not be true. I'm not too fond of the park, the clientelle, or the operations of the ride, but the ride is kickass from lift to brake. Kumba has been running for over 10 years, and its still just as forceful, fun, and efficient as the day it was built. It may not be as smooth as it once was, but its still a great ride, and may be the best looping coaster in America, though it isn't very rerideable due to its intensity. As for wood, it may not be the tallest, fastest, or longest, but I've always had a consistently great ride on Phoenix at Knoebels. Add in the fact that it IS Knoebels and they are proud of their coaster and put some TLC into it every day, and I'd say Phoenix is the best coaster. Its definitely the best wood, IMHO. If a park like Knoebels had a monster like SROS, you know it'd be running great every day for the next 30 years.
Guest Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Also add the park name of the roller coaster, what city and country it is in also... Thanx, Froggies111 Just a quick question, wouldn't all of these be in the US, if that's what you asked in the title? Best steel: S:RoS at SFNE Best Wood: Thunderhead at Dollywood Katie
robbalvey Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 I would have to go with: SROS - SFNE - USA Knoebel's - Phoenix - USA --Robb "I made sure I put the country!" Alvey
CoasterCrazy Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Steel: SROS - SFA/I haven't been on the other two SROS's! Wood: Phoenix - Knoebel's
Stitch Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Steel : Incredible Hulk Coaster (Islands Of Adventure) Wood : Son Of Beast (Paramount's King's Island)
ECZenith Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 I'm another SFNE Superman fanboy. The SFA and SFDL versions don't even come close.
Froggies111 Posted July 11, 2005 Author Posted July 11, 2005 CoastinKatie: You are right... my bad for my mistake people.
coasterdude5 Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Mine would be Steel:Wildfire, SDC Wood:Thunderhead, Dollywood
Coasterkid20 Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 The Raven, Holiday World, Santa Clause Indiana. Of the coasters I have ridden only GhostRider on a good day can compare to Raven's otherworldly pacing and airtime. And considering out of the 70 some rides I've had on Raven were all suppurb it just shows that Raven runs amazing all day and all the time.
PhishyBrewer Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Does your mom count? That's a hard question. I'll just be a smart ass and say "X"
Skyscraper Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Tough question, but I think I can get an answer... HADES ! Awesome speed, awesome tunnel, great airtime, surprisingly good airtime and speed before the lift, steel beams that would cut your head, the 90degree bank curved... Sorry X, Millenium Force and The Beast, I had to make a choice !
CoasterExpert13 Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Umm, that's quite difficult to answer......I can't choose just one, but I can choose the best ones out of a ceartin category: Best Inverted: Alpengiest @ Busch Gardens Williamsburgh, USA Best Terrain Hyper: Phantom's Revenge @ Kennywood Park, USA Best Floorless: Hydra: The Revenge @ Dorney Park, USA Best Stand-Up:Mantis @ Cedar Point, USA Best Giga: (That's Easy) Millennium Force @ Cedar Point, USA Best (all around) Looper: Raptor @ Cedar Point, USA Best Woodie: Villian @ Geauga Lake, USA Best Strata: Top Thrill Dragster @ Cedar Point, USA (Kingda Ka was closed the 4 times that I visted SFGAdv. This summer)
Sir Clinksalot Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Yeah, that's hard. I'm gonna go with the above formula: Best Inverted: Top Gun @ PGA - Santa Clara, CA Best Floorless: Superman: Krypton Coaster @ SFFT - San Antonio, TX Best Stand-Up: GA Scorcher @ SFOG - Austell, GA Best Hyper: Goliath @ SFMM - Valencia, CA (Pretty much by default) Best Woodie: GASM @ SFOG - Austell, GA Best Launched: CA Screamin' @ DCA - Anaheim, CA Best Rocket Coaster: Xcelerater @ Knott's - Buena Park, CA (Also by default, but it's still a good ride) Overal favorite: Superman:Ultimate Flight @ SFOG - Austell GA
Spookbaby Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 First of all I can't pick my favorite wooden coaster. Everyone loves a woodie! (wow... that kinda sounded dirty... lol!) but seeing as right now my big hype is all about Top Thrill Dragster cause I just rode it for my first time and about peed my pants. The moments where you are rolled out and waiting for the lights to turn were the SCARIEST moments of my life and all I could do was hold on and pray we cleared the hill! (the train before us had a rollback)
Reon Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 wood: cyclops (mt olympus). that ride is perfection when ridden in the back seat...the only thing i hate is its so short steel: vortex (pki) the only looper i know of that produces at least 2 pops of air regardless of where you sit. and let me tell you...that is some sweet air
CoasterFanatic Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 When I think "American" coaster, I think: Cyclone - Coney Island // If you were to look up coaster in the Encyclopedia ...
