Hershey_flags Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 Here are all of the Firebird events happening within the next couple of weeks!
Rougarou Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 I arrived at the park around 10:30AM it was dead.... Fire Bird is still a little shakey head BANGy yet way more comfortable ride experience. I rank it 4 in the park (a lot more fun). Roar and Batwing we’re down. Batwing had a train stuck on top of the lift hill, lift chain dangling, and a cherry picker and Crain at the lift hill. SURPRISE Superman and Wild one had 2 train operations. I got 10 rides on each Overall a great day My new Fire Bird T Shirt The Beef Burrito at Nacho Nacho is Yummy
Hershey_flags Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Which rows did you try on Firebird? From what I am hearing, back row is the smoothest.
Hershey_flags Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Definitely would recommend you try the back then. Should be a better experience.
boldikus Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Serious question (I'm not trolling I swear): what Superman train was it and how was it running?
JG-77 Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 ^ Don't worry, we believe you aren't trolling. Everyone knows the only troll on this website is coasterbill
coasterbill Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 This is very true.  As far as this coaster goes I’m curious to try it out. I thought Rougarou was a fantastic upgrade where they basically turned a raging dumpster fire of a ride into a solid floorless coaster (which is a big win) but Patriot is a just flaming turd with tons of headbanging and a layout that’s not interesting enough to make up for it.  Hopefully this is more like the former.
bert425 Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 with Mind Eraser just around the corner from it, isn't the amount of headbanging considered minimal regardless? Â I will note, that when we stopped at this park last Summer, I passed riding Apocalypse (tho we DID ride Mind Eraser, and Roar. . go figure ).. . but I WOULD ride Firebird.
Hershey_flags Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 Yes, looks really nice. They keep it on longer now so it is easier to see while riding. On Apocalypse, you could only see it in a few seats.
Highridin Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 From several riders that I talked to, the second from the back, and back row is where you gotta sit. I'm hearing that coming out of the corkscrew is a great experience, as well as a couple of other elements. So far, everyone is saying that it is a superb improvement over the stand up. Looking forward to riding it next Friday.
JG-77 Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 ^^^could be, but it could also just be the timing of the photo (though I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s actually that small). Doesn’t really matter, small fire > no fire
DoinItForTheFame Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 ^  That's the fire effect?  That was literally my thought when I saw the photo!!!  I don’t get all the hype over the fire effect. You can get basically the same effect from any generic firework stand across the country from about the middle of June through July 4th.
Highridin Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 Man, people bellyache about anything. The fire effect is larger in live action. Look at the YouTube video that just came out. I'm too lazy right now to link it. Â Either way, I'm sure that the emphasis wasn't on a volcano blast. Probably were more concerned about the paint and trains. Do you think??

Doesn’t really matter, small fire > no fire  ^^this... it's the timing. I saw the video. It is bigger. Also, I agree. Either way, small fire > no fire.
Canobie Coaster Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 Not surprised the floorless trains are an upgrade. It is weird the back rows are the smoothest spots though.
robbalvey Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 I just got the invite for Firebird at Six Flags America on the morning of May 16. Do we have anyone that is somewhat local to the area that would want to go to it representing TPR? You must be willing to shoot photos & video of the ride, post a trip report to the forum, and be on-camera with much enthusiasm for a rider-cam! If you're interested, please email: robbalvey@themeparkreview.com
Highridin Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Damn, I would like to, but not sure about that date. I'll forward this to a few people.
LegendLover Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 I just saw the videos of Firebird. It looks like a great improvement to the ride and the park overall. The colors really pop, the ride looks zippier with the floorless trains, and the area around the ride looks a lot better. I wasn't too much of a fan of the Apocalypse theme, but I love the cleaner look of the area around Firebird. I can't wait to try it out! Good job Six Flags!

If you're interested, please email: robbalvey@themeparkreview.com  I could do it- I'm in the area and at the park often, but honestly I'm so annoyed at Six Flags' policy so far, with members allowed to ride and non-members, including upper-tier season passholders, left to watch from the sidelines until the 17th, that I don't want to do anything to promote this ride. I wish you luck finding someone.
robbalvey Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 (edited) I could do it- I'm in the area and at the park often, but honestly I'm so annoyed at Six Flags' policy so far, with members allowed to ride and non-members, including upper-tier season passholders, left to watch from the sidelines until the 17th, that I don't want to do anything to promote this ride. I wish you luck finding someone. Yeah, that's actually a really shitty obnoxious attitude to have. Not only would I not want you representing our site but I don't want people like you on our forums. So you can just sit there on the sidelines and watch the rest of us post about the fun we're having in the park while you sit there and be a self-entitled rude jerk. Â Bu-Bye.... Â The irony of this is that had to responded "Oh, man, I'd love to do the media event and get to ride before the opening date" you would have actually gotten to do something super fun and cool that ALL those other passholders and members would have wanted to do. Personally, I feel that if you're looking for "bragging rights" (as dumb as that actually is IMO) saying you got to do a media event is by far higher on the list than "riding it first" through a passholder preview. Â But to each his own... you just sit there and continue to be angry.... Edited May 6, 2019 by robbalvey
