Erik Johnson
Since the Haunted Mansion reopened today, I decided to hit the Magic Kingdom a day before just to make sure I get some good pictures of the ride closed. Ok, I honestly really went down to the Magic Kingdom to meet up with Bryan, who I met on the Midwest trip, for an awesome day at the Magic Kingdom. While mid-September is always a great time to visit the parks, I have never seen the park as empty as it was today. Anyways, onto some pictures. Yes, we did do Adventureland. It was an overall awesome Splash Mountain ride today. The water jets of doom, the Million Dollar bunny, and the leaping water effects were working. The water jets of doom were on today. Bryan really liked Splash Mountain. I took a 2nd picture, just to make sure I was not dreaming. Oh wow, the Million Dollar Bunny was working today. Bryan and his mom with some creepy looking guy behind them. Sure, why not. The Mansion does look a bit different with the new paint job. They would not open a day early, even for Bryan. It is all about Bryan....and his Mom. Yes, that is a 5 minute wait for Space Mountain. That was the trend for the day. It is open now. Hello there! Disney totally meant it when they said no soft openings for the Haunted Mansion 2.0 For you baseball fans. Nice to see you Mr. Pumpkin Head. Main Street USA.....in fall colors. The new wing of the Contemporary Hotel. The tore the old one down at the beginning of the year. MNSSHP starts this Friday, so they have started to make the park look Halloweeny. It is always good to take a picture of your parking row.
Erik Johnson
More pictures. Dumbo in the Hood. Those poor rodents must get really dizzy. Hooray for Dumbo. I have not ridden it since I was around 8 or 9. Each green card represented an elephant. As one of 3 rides on a stick, Dumbo had a very little wait to ride. While not at the Magic Kingdom, the wand is now gone. I still really like Space Mountain's track layout. Battlestar Galactica....1978. All systems go! Bryan was our rocketship pilot for the day. There still was a 5 minute wait for Space Mountain. Buzz had a 5 minute wait. Actually it was closer to 1 minute. The typical Florida afternoon showers really cleared out the park. Ohana's was quite good today.
Erik Johnson
Final posting. We finished up the night with a 2nd ride on a stick, Aladdin's carpet ride. We also rode BTMR again. While not Jack Black, Raul was a good boat captain. Bryan agrees. This is why the park was super awesome today. Yes, its a 5 minute wait for Jungle Cruise. It is a good show, if you have never seen it. Sure, why not.

arrowfanman
For some reason, the Mansion's new paint sort of reminds me of TDS's Tower's scheme. Â Anyway, looks like a great day at the Magic Kingdom! LOL at the "green cards" for elephants. Â -Jahan
Hattuchili
Great photo TR, Erik. HM looks nice with the new paint and I am so sad, that I am not there anymore to ride it. I really liked the ride. Aww, Helloween time is starting, soon. It is a great time at MK and the "Boo to you Helloween parade" is very nice. Â So Erik, from now you are responsible to post some updates and what is going on at WDW as often as possible just for me, till I can make it back! Please... Homer
WE LOVE YOU BRYAN! Â Awesome TR, Erik. Hope to head up to Disney some day if my schedule and money is ever cleared up. Â Also Bryan, awesome Homsar shirt.

thefitness
Whoa, I've never seen Magic Kingdom that empty. For that matter I've never seen any of the park's that empty. Â Nice pictures, I can't wait to go back to Disney!
Pufferfish
Aw, I wish I wasn't in school right now and I had put off my vacation until now. When I went during the summer, the shortest line I ever saw was five minutes for mission space, and BTM, and that was during a torrential downpour! Glad you had fun though. disneygurlz2s
Awww, Erik, you're killing me!! I love WDW this time of year...in fact, it was 10 years ago this week that my dear mom and I were there. It was on that visit that I threw a coin in Cindy's fountain and wished that someday I would have a small, blond coaster prostitot that I could one day take to Magic Kingdom.... ah, but I digress. Â The picture of the Castle from the train station is awesome. I took a wonderful (but much sunnier) shot from up there when Sam and I were there August a year ago. Â Looks like you had a great time and I am also glad to see Bryan's mom. Does she realize the fury she caused???? Â Shari
Erik Johnson
^^ Heh heh heh, yes she does. It was not her intention to put Bryan or herself in the spotlight that day, and we can all laugh about it now. Honestly, it really made everyone's day at Mt. Olympus even more fun, though I am not sure if Bryan would agree to that.
ebl
Nice TR. I wish I was going to WDW this year with the Westcoaster group, but, alas, I have to skip it this time. Â No more wand on Spaceship Earth = goodness. Â So, now you need a green card to ride Dumbo? Will a passport suffice? Â Eric
cobra_roll06
Hey great TR! Yeah september really is the best time to visit Disney. Always guaranteed short queues. It might not be the most thrilling park but theres something about it that always makes me go back. It's just such a magical place.
Ork1927
Can't believe how quiet it was. Seeing the rain seems odd at a Florida Park especially as I just managed to visit the Pleasure Beach and Cemlot and it not rain at all despite us having the worst summer ever. moinab
Another great report, Erik! Â We were just there for Labor Day weekend - not my ideal choice of timing, but it was my son's birthday. Â Hoping to get in one more trip before the baby is born.
stingrock23
Nice TR, Eric. It's good to see the midwest trippers meet up after the trip. Plus, any day with 5 minute waits is a good day.
Not For Sale
This I can safely say was the best day at Disney ever. I believe the longest we waited was for Space Mountain or It's a Small World, which was about 3 minutes. Â Thank you for all the kind words
