Nickelodeon Universe (MOA) Discussion Thread

A Zamplera Rotorshake is 85 feet

A Chance Gaint Wheel is 90 feet

The wheel at MOA isn't a Chance Giant Wheel, but a Chance Century Wheel on stilts that allows riders to board from the second level of the mall/park. A century wheel stands about 65 ft tall and has 15 gondolas versus the 90 ft tall 20 gondola Giant Wheel.

Approx clearance (with a little room to spare) is 90 ft.

Yes! Another Euro - Fighter! I always hoped someone would revive the Cutback; it always looked like a promising, unique inversion, and requiring little space. Personally, I think the layout looks awesome, with that tiny helix next to the loop, but more importantly, the Cutback.

Did I read correctly that this was going to be built in the area where the darkride is now?

Not quite. They're removing the moving theater and a couple shops. The vertical loop will be right next to Ghostblaster's entrance (at least this is my understanding of it).

^Not quite - KidWorks is actually right above Ghost Blasters, right next to Old Time Photo, which is right next to Mystery Mine Ride, which is right next to Toy Store. Basically they are taking out these three attractions and putting it right next to the ferris wheel.

Thank god for online park maps.

^Yeah--it's one of those simulators where the seats jump around, as I recall. No great loss. I hope that they keep the dark ride, though.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I read this, Chuck. I understand that some things will have to come out or be moved, but the darkride is one of those park anchors that everyone can ride, and I would hate to see it go at ANY park, even if it means not getting a new coaster. I'd rather see another coaster go out of a park than a darkride ("Points" to a little park up north from here in Sandusky and wags his finger!) Either way, Julz and I have long sought credits up in Minnesota and Wisconsin. With a stop off in Chicago, I think this may be our major trip with new parks for next summer.

I remeber when Timberland Twister was annouced I started thinking that every year Valleyfair! gets a new roller coaster-That Camp Snoopy (when it was still called that? would get one the next year. It has happened again.

2003-Steel Venom- VF

2004-Timberland Twister-CS

2007-Renegade-VF

2008- Eruo-Fighter

I aslo hopped that The Park would finally get a looping coaster. Minnesota has not seen one of these since 1980 with Corkscrew.

So another mall a few hundred miles away plans a new roller coaster and that's the end of the world for you??

Hate to break it to you but Edmonton & West Edmonton Mall were never the best that western Canada has to offer.

Man you really are emo aren't you? Maybe as you grow up you'll realize that another mall building a roller coaster isn't something to cry over.

And nothing to offer? I guess you've never heard about the rocky mountains, whistler, Vancouver, etc?

You need to get out more.

I used to live in the mountains. They're pretty and all, and nice to look at, but they get old after a while. They're sure pretty amazing to see for the first time but when you look out your back window and they're there every day you get used to them. And I'm not being emo, I'm not actually crying, I'm being sarcastic haha.

Mountains are like a roller coaster. You ride it a little to much and it gets old. After a while there's not much to discover anymore. Now I live in a gigantic wheat feild. Sure you can see for miles but the only scenery is yellow land. I miss my old house. Heh, I never realised how much I liked it there. That and my old school got an in-school restaurant like two days after I left....

Ehh. All well. The only reason it just kind of made me *blah* is that for coasters, Mindbender is all western Canada has that's worth acknowledging, other than "Coaster" at PNE.

Like I said, mountains, vancouver are great... for a while.

And the only reason I want to move to the US is...

Coasters!!!

^A Eurofighter is a unique coaster built by Gerstlauer. They have 90 degree angle lift hills and a drop of 95 degrees or more. Trains are single car consisting of eight people in two rows of four. A lot of times they appear to be very compact.
