Shockwave
Too bad it's gone back a year, that looks like a lot of fun! I'd certainly be up for going back once it opens!
stormrider
That ride slightly reminds me of Neptune's Knot in RCT2.
ghost007jas
I'm not quite familiar with this park...is it actually a zoo? If so I want a zoo like that in my area!
downunder
I thought this was supposed to be a mega coaster but it looks like a fun little coaster.
DerekRx
It looks like a pretty cute little mini-hyper, almost Holland Goliath like, but sans Stengel Dive. This definitely puts Tobu Zoo on my list of parks to hit when I'm in Japan (although the looping mouse did build a strong case for itself)
SharkTums
It's about 2/3 Zoo and Park area, 1/3 Amusement Park.
Tanks4me05
^^ I thought that their Looping Mouse looked awesome, but there's one that is even better: It has a Loop and a Corkscrew! (I couldn't help but point it out) http://rcdb.com/id1890.htm That ride slightly reminds me of Neptune's Knot in RCT2. Hey, I guess I'm not the only one. It definitely puts the word "Mini" in Mini Hyper; however, it does look like it will have a really good amount of airtime.
robbalvey
From the press release the park sent out: The Tobu animal park more and more becomes attractive! The new roller coaster appears 2008 spring! Ccron10
It looks like the ride will have a Cable lift hill.
carolinacaniac
I would bet that this ride could have some great airtime, depends on how the designed the layout to be.
FLIPDUDE
uhm... is it just me or does the 3D render of the ride make no sense whatsoever?
Shockwave
I think he means the perspective is a little hard to grasp at first. The lift hill goes away from you, then it drops and curves back on itself into the main bit of the layout.
AT0527
It looks like its on a dock or something. why didnt they just build it directly over the water?
TCKR
More airtime = more opportunities for Intamin to chuck guests! Awesome!
Jeezus Juice
^^ It's built on the structure from the old Rocky coaster, which was essentially a dock built over water.
Top Thrill Dragster
It will be interesting to see what type of restrains this ride will use. So far all of the steel coaster put out by Intamin recently use OTSR.
Gnome
It looks like a pretty cute little mini-hyper, almost Holland Goliath like, but sans Stengel Dive. This definitely puts Tobu Zoo on my list of parks to hit when I'm in Japan (although the looping mouse did build a strong case for itself) Looks like a good blend of Goliath as well as Superman:Escape. Definately will be a fun ride.
PhishyBrewer
WTF?! The Tobu Zoo website said last week that the new coaster would be ready mid-March 2007. Now it's been pushed back a ll the way to 2008. I guess Afro-Carts will have to fill my heart with joy this years trip.

They didn't even get track until like last week! http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.tobuzoo.com I tried looking for it in the web archive. But the last date archived was in 2006. Is there another park in Japan that has a new coaster opening in mid-March? Or am I just a big fat Belson?
SharkTums
I'm pretty sure that there are three other coasters opening in March! - Indoor at Mitsui Greenland - B&M at Universal - Werid one at Lagunasia
