OK, I have never been on an Intamin drop tower , but have been on an S&S. So I was wondering which one is your favorite? Which type of drop tower do you like most too. Try to post a picture of one of the rides if you can.

Intamin ones are better because it feels more like a rush. S&S feels too controled.

S&S Tower

S&S towers only have kind of a "pop," whereas Intamin towers you float all the way down. I say Intamin.

I love S&S towers, especially the combo towers, but it's hard to beat a genuine free fall for me. Especially a genuine stand-up free fall. So I have to go with Intamin.

I chose Intamin mainly because of that AWESOME feeling you get on the drop. They are much more intimidating and much more thrilling.

However, WOF's S&S space shot (Dominator) in particular is extremely fun. I didnt notice it on CP's, but WOF's space shot’s emergency cable ends before the top of the tower. This means that instead of the extremely light floater air that you get on normal space shots, you get some extremely quick ejector air. While this is fun, it will never beat an Intamin drop.

I like them both for different reasons. I like S&S Space Shots for their sudden force, it's fun, and Intamins for the extended drop.

Then again,

YAY INTAMIN!

For me, Intamin barely beats out S&S. Acrophobia just gives that out of control feel and gets you by complete suprise, where as S&S towers don't as much. I really like turbo drop's and space shot's, but Acro beats them both out. Now, Tower of Doom at SFEG was my least favorite drop though, simply because there is no surprise since there is a click before you drop.

Intamin barely edges it out with Acro and Freefall that both give a very intense ride.

I have been on three Intamin towers, which all three were great. Fritt Fall Tilt @ Gröna Lund was particularly awesome. I have been on 5 S&S towers and of those were one great Spaceshot (Prater), two okay ones and two really lame ones. So in my opinion the Intamin towers are faaaaaaaaar better. The S&S towers are way too controlled. Their drop towers have a quick burst of acceleration at the top and then youre being moved towards the ground at a somewhat constant speed most of the time and the effect of falling is gone. On the Intamin towers you just keeps going faster and faster as you drop, and the stomach-in-your-throat feeling seems to last forever...

I usually like the Intamin drop towers better.

They are kind of meant to give the rider different feelings. The Intamin is to let the rider experience airtime, and the S&S is more for the thrill of the launch.

I have been on more S&S drop towers or Space Shots than Intamin ones (the only one being Freefall at SFMM), but I thought the actual ride sequence and drop of Freefall was better than any drop tower of been on (besides ToT at DCA). So my vote goes for Intamin.

Well, I've only been on one drop tower, and it was a S&S Turbo Drop (Supreme Scream)... I liked it a lot, but I don't think it's fair for me to vote... Intamin towers seem pretty cool, though.

From Intamin I've been on Acrophobia at SFOG, Freefall Tower (or whatever its called) at Holiday Park in Germany, and Freefall at SFMM. I know, its an awful comparison, but the only S&S tower I've been on is Double Shot at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Even though that was lame, the Intamin drop towers are just amazing, especially Acrophobia. So yea, I pick Intamin.
