coastervekoma Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 What coasters have you been on when they take an onride video of you? On Top Gun at PGA they do that now. ADMIN EDIT: Edited spelling, grammar, capitalization, and made the topic title more descriptive.
KKAddict127 Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Santa Monica West Coaster at Pacific Park, just installed this year.
coasterrider1998 Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Top Gun At Carowinds and SheiKra at BGA. /Cr98\
YoshiFan Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Sea Serpent and Flitzer at Playland's Castaway Cove, Doo Woppper at Morey's
the sound Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 I never realised they did this! Thats such a cool idea.
Carnage Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Top Gun at Canadas Wonderland. I wasn't about to pay $20 for an onride video of an SLC though.
thecoasterkid Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 How does it work? Is there really a camera set up on every row to get your reactions throughout the entire ride? And as far as getting one done on an SLC, I think it would be pretty hilarious! Shawn "imagine the images of pain" Goode

And as far as getting one done on an SLC, I think it would be pretty hilarious! Shawn "imagine the images of pain" Goode On Westcoaster, theres a camera in each row. I've seen this on Westcoaster, Top Gun @ PGA and Dive Devil at SFMM The circles on the row are video cameras.
sio Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Speedy Bob at Bobbejaanland and Dragon Kahn at PA
PKI Jizzman Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Ah sweet! When I go to Carowinds next year ill be sure to bring an extra 20$! Top Gun is sweet, and to have a POV of you on it is even sweeter!
Stealth Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 ^^^ Do they really have this on Dragon Khan at PA, when was this introduced, becasue they didn't have it when i was there
Scaparri Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Sheikra has cameras at strategic positions which catches the train going by in about three different places I think. It's kind of a neat idea, but I'm not about to fork out the money they were asking for 10 seconds of less than stellar footage. Maybe if it was a full on-ride video it'd be kind of cool.
SharkTums Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 We shelled out once for the Shakira one, for novelty sake, it is soooo terrible! It's almost funny how bad it is! Once this technology is improved though I can see it really taking off!
thrillrideseeker Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Ok...Well... my 3 slingshot rides. My 2 skycoaster flights, and Kingda Ka, but that was just because it was new, and I think there was like a TV channel there like the History Channel or something. The camera was attached to the front of the train and was pointing like right at me
TheArchfiend Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 What would be sweet is if they got to the point where they could get a slow-mo video capture of riders on a ride like Kingda Ka or Top Thrill Dragster. That would be kewl. But, that technology is a few or more years away.
GURZU Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Superman, Batman & Coaster Express. And a free fall towers... La Venganza del Enigma All in Parque Warner Madrid
coasterfreak101 Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 ShieKra at BGA, and the video wasn't that great for the $15 we paid for it...but it's still a cool idea! Wasn't PKD supposed to do this this past year?
pkdcoaster Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Wasn't PKD supposed to do this this past year? They had the setup ready on Taxi Jam all year but never launched it, I am not sure why...you would think if they could get it working on any coaster it would be Taxi Jam. I am surprised they did not try to put it on Volcano. How is the Video quality on these? (is it jumpy, low res, any screenshots?) TIA, JEFF
Sexy No Jutsu Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I'll be honest too, the quality of the vids on WestCoaster is pretty nice. I saw it while walking by and it didn't shake or rattle or have any cut-off's. I would never buy it though. I look way to stupid on coasters.
Carnage Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 How is the Video quality on these? (is it jumpy, low res, any screenshots?) The quality on PCW's topgun seemed pretty good to me. I was tempted to buy it, but didn't want to spend $20. You could clearly see the look of pain on my face as my cheeks were getting slapped into the restraints during the rain.
Mystery Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 They are testing it on Goliath at Walibi World
snuggles Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 I would pay 20$ to see people in pain on son of beast
