edboxer Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 I have always found Mother's Day and Father's Day to be great days to go to parks, which are usually deserted!!!. I'll be trying Hydra at Dorney on Sunday!! So what are your mother's Day Park plans?
FlyingScooter Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 Cleveland Metro Parks Zoo. It's close and it's free for the moms.
CoasterFanatic Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 PKD, but it really wasn't planned. Just worked out that way.
Carnage Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 PCW. I'm having a mothers day dinner at my sisters place which is just down the street from the park. So I'm going to stop off for the afternoon before going to my sisters house.
coasterfreak11 Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 I'm going to SFGAM. Mothers Day is one of the best days to go to SFGAM, IMO. Fathers Day is a different story though!!
crispy Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 Well we would be going to Cliff's, but my wife had to go and get pregnant, and have the due date be may 10th, so we won't be going nowhere except maybe the hospital I told her if she has the baby on the 8th, thats all she gets, I'm taking her gift back
SharkTums Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 I'm taking my co-workers two daughters to Hurricane Harbor...it's a girls day out, leaving mom to relax back home! Elissa "that is unless it's freezing!" Alvey
Meteornotes Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 We were thinking of going to SFA, but we're supposed to have crap weather, so I think we'll just hang out at home instead. Mother's/Father's Day used to be great days to go to parks, but it seems in the last five years or so a lot of parks have caught on to these being "dead" days and have started having promotions like Buy One/Get One Free Admission, or Season Pass Bring A Friend Free or something similar. I'd check to see if the park you're going to is running this sort of promotion, as you'll likely encounter higher than average crowds... dt
QuakerOaties Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 I'll be sitting at home working on my term paper! YAY!!! Mark "The history of smallpox is AMAZING" Luskus
SixFlagsTexas Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 I will be going to the Texas Ranger game, been a tradition for me to go on Mother's Day, but in two weeks I go to SFFT!!!
coaster1 Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 Might be at SDC .. or maybe SFOT .. not really sure .. depends on the woman at this point.
pgathriller Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 I am going to Western Playland. Mothers get in free and there will be things to do there. I will probaly leave my mom with my sisters and I wander off riding the rides.
Billy Hill Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 Our family will be going to Bonfante Gardens on Mother's day. We'll have both of the Grandmas and my wife, a mother of 3. Of course, we'll also have the kids along with us. I sometimes joke with the kids that the only reason I ever had kids was so I'd have an excuse to go to theme parks. I'm looking forward to it being a fun time for all.
Scaparri Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 I'm heading up to Cedar Point for the summer. I'm hopin' to get a few rides in before the park closes. Unfortunately, this week is probably the last time I'll really be on the site until September. I might be able to make a few posts every once in a while Scott "Won't have much internet access up at the Point" P.
Space Freak Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 I have always found Mother's Day and Father's Day to be great days to go to parks, which are usually deserted!!!. disneygurlz2s Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 Mother's/Father's Day used to be great days to go to parks, but it seems in the last five years or so a lot of parks have caught on to these being "dead" days and have started having promotions like Buy One/Get One Free Admission, or Season Pass Bring A Friend Free or something similar. PKI is doing Gold Pass bring a friend free day.... don't know if the other Paramount Parks are doing the same, but if they are...LOOK OUT! That is like the mass of humanity. Shari "would like to go but it'll be too crowded" Shoufler
CoasterFanatic Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 ^ Looks like Kings Dominion will be doing it this Sunday also (according to their site). Crap! Oh well ... we'll see what happens.
Rugged One Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 We may stop off at Hersheypark for a few hours after spending some time with family.
What Now Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 My family is going to be entertaining guests (more family) that weekend, so no park visits for me.
coaster1 Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Looks like no park now .. have to spend time with her family .. seriously .. why!?
CoasterEricHP Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Knoebels Hopefully Hershey wont be too bad on Fri with "Math Day" kids there.. weaK! Eric
coaster1 Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Yay .. guilt trips work. Since I don't get a park .. she said next weekend, so now it looks like SDC, CC and WOF for next weekend .. long drive but worth it!
