^I just finished the Madden demo too. The new playcalling system isn't the greatest but overall I felt like it's a pretty solid game. Might be picking it up as soon as the prices drop a bit.

And I'm STILL playing Bad Company 2. Like seriously, if you haven't tried this game, do yourself a favor and try it out or borrow it from a friend. I've been playing MW2 online and BC2 destroys it in many ways it's amazing. Yeah, it needs new maps, but it hopefully won't be too long until they release the Vietnam expansion. Unlike MW2, there is a tiny bit of strategy involved when you're playing Rush and Squad Deathmatch. In Rush, there really needs to be a balance of players to win the game (not too many snipers!!! a few medics, two or three engineers, and like 5 assault). Squad Deathmatch you really have to be balanced and stick with your squad if you want any chance of winning. Conquest isn't as much strategy... Squad rush is a joke. But one thing that's really great about BC2 is that it's hard to camp! Like if you're camping in a building it sucks for you if the building is leveled or a wall is destroyed and you're exposed. I was just playing a game today and some guy on my team was having fun with C4 and literally leveled half the map and it made it quite interesting. No two games you play will ever be the same.

Yeah, I really love that game.

Nicely said MagicMouintainMan. I will have to agree that it does destroy MW2. I have never liked the CoD series. Too unrealistic, too arcade oriented.

And yes, I am STILL playing that game as well. And I honestly have no plans in stopping. Heh, until I have to go buy another Xbox Live card.

BC2 = Level 41

KDR = 3.46

Stuck on Metroid: Other M. Just defeated those worm thingies in Sector 1, now trying to find my way out/where to go next. Anyone who has a Wii should get this game! Metroid fan or not, you'll love it. If you played Super Metroid, there's plenty to appreciate in this game, starting off with the epic intro!

So what are you waiting for? Get to the store and pick this game up now!

Just came here to post that I'm playing Metroid:Other M too...

I too got stuck right after those damn worms (whick killed me about 6 times til' I realized what to do)... Okay, so I wound up on gamefaqs to see what to do next... and if you are still stuck, right near a save room, there is a new room (long and tall) where there is a "computer console" you can interact with, turning the "jungle, on and off"... with the "jungle off", in the top left corner of the room there is a door where you can only blast if you have super missles (which you don't)... if you "turn the jungle on", and walk towards the wall where the super missle door was, you can see a little piece of the wall which still exists in the lower right corner... turn into a ball and blast it with a bomb... turn the jungle back off and you can proceed... hope that helps... if you were even still stuck...

I'm loving this game... its very tough, but much better than many of the reviews are saying... great game...

^Yea, I figured that one out too...the flickering wall segment should have been obvious enough. I'm now in Sector 3...All I can say is that when you get there, good luck! The first fight sequence was tough. Took me about 5 tries and about halfway through the battle, the commanders finally enable my ice beam, which is used to destroy the fire guys. I say good luck because you have an onslaught of 2 different kind of enemies plus destroying the source of where the fire enemies keep regenerating. Really, you're taking on 3 different kinds of tasks at once. I like the challenge though! It does not help though that it's extremely hot outside here and being in Sector 3. I guess it adds to the realism!

And about game reviews in general, as much as I like to see what they have to say, I almost never let their review dictate my experience. From what I've seen in this game, I give a 9/10 as opposed the lower 8/10 or even 7/10 ratings I saw. Game feels back to its roots while keeping itself updated.

Hey Angry_Gumball... I've been fortunate enough to have gotten the game during my days off from work (I work four 10 hour shifts so I still have today to play)... and as a result, I've shamefully clocked more hours than I care to admit over the past 36 hours (for me at least)... the in-game clock shows I've been playing for over 8 hours now... I JUST got the wave beam and Adams is ordering me to go BACK to sector 3 now... Not before warning me that the creatures have gotten "more aggressive" (oh great!!!) Currently I'm getting my a** kicked by some angry spider-ish creature at the top of an elevator right now... I got my rear handed to me twice then gave up for the night to get some food/drink/sleep... Oh and I couldn't agree with you more about the battle in-which you received the Icebeam... why oh why didn't Adams see me struggling prior and give me authorization to get an appropriate weapon sooner... I died about 10 times there... I love this game and also am giving it about a 9/10...

I might (or should rather) give the game (and myself) a break and take a ride over to Busch Gardens Tampa to ride some coasters and get some fresh air for myself... we'll see...

I'm now in Sector 2, just beat that charging ??? (what is he anyway)? Sector 3 was pretty hardcore. I wonder how long the game is...So far, I've put about 4 hours into it (It sat paused for an hour or so when I watched Wipeout the past couple nights).

Being in this Metroid phase, I'm getting ready to restart playing Zero Mission, Fusion, and perhaps dig up Super Metroid.

My friend Eva let me borrow Assassin's Creed for a week or two, I started it a couple days ago.

Let me say, I can see why people say the game is stupidly repetitive. I've only gotten through two assassinations, and I've been sure to do every single optional task I can, minus the flags. But the game is pretty fantastic, the animations for Altair's freerunning are absolutely amazing. And this is probably one of the most beautiful games I've ever played, despite it being released three years ago.

Too bad I can't figure out the story at all, since Ubisoft made the insanely stupid choice to not include subtitles in the game, so I can only understand about half of what people say. Oh well, I'll Wikipedia it.

I spent today (My rare saturday off from work) playing some classic Super Metroid. As I was playing off and on, I just finished beating Kraid, got Varia suit, and just picked up my speed boots. I'm now on my way to get the ice beam and off to get power bombs. God I love this game!

Also playing Metroid Zero Mission as well, just got the power grip ability. If I sit for an hour or so I can probably finish this game off!

Angry_Gumball... I love that you picked up to re-play those classic Metroid titles again... Super Metriod, Fusion and Zero Mission rank as some of the greatest gaming moments... Don't know if I'd even know where to go in Super Metriod to be honest. I haven't played that game since college (damn near 15 years ago...)... I own the silly thing on Wii's Virtual Console but only tinkered with it... got stuck pretty early on... I'll replay it once I'm done with Other M... I remember one of those boss battles to be "controller breaking" difficulty... I seem to remember it having A LOT of bugs coming off of it... was that Super Metroid?... maybe one of the GBA games...

Anyway, try not to stray too far from Other M (assuming don't hate it yet)... I know its difficult, but honestly, you have reached the height of its difficulty from what I'm expiriencing. I'm at "Nightmare", very close to the end, from what I'm being told. And many people say that Ridley was more difficult... He was no more difficult than that "Ice beam" fight (where you received the Ice Beam)... just faster, and different pattern... ALL the bosses killed me about a 1/2 dozen times or more... but I walk away for a little while and revisit with a clear mind and BOOM... within 2 more tries, I typically take them down... most are with the same strategy... Power shot and dodge... Power shot and dodge... occasional Missle to the head... rinse and repeat... Now back to Nightmare... and hopefully end this rollercoaster ride before my vacation on Wednesday (Chicago and Six Flags Great America for the first time...)

I started playing Forza 3 again. I love a great game I can always turn to when the current new selection is "dry." Drag racing online is fun. Yesterday I tied my fastest time ever in the mile, only with a different car than I used the first time back in January...pretty excited about that. Starting to get into playing "Tag" online. That's really fun too!

It's impossible to hate Metroid, lol. Yea, surprisingly I still know where to go on Super Metroid. Around 1999 is when I finally bought Super Metroid (after the whole N64 smash bros craze and fighting with Samus). I did not realize what I was missing out on. Off and on, I played SM and beat it several times...it never got old. At that time, we were driving a van that had a TV and an SNES in it...so a trip to Wal-mart consisted a van full of my friends and I trying to get to the next boss as fast as we could. We sat probably a good 5 minutes until we got to a save point at one time. A trip to Magic Mountain? Even more time to beat the game. It was common for us to tell my dad (who was driving) not to power off yet as we needed to get to a save. Also makes a great rainy day game. As much as I didn't play this in it's original release year, this game has a soft spot and holds many memories.

I've kinda gave Other M a break yesterday and today, and I think Samus is going to be putting up a good fight with Mr John Madden as I just picked up Madden 11 today for PS3. I wouldn't mind seeing Samus and Madden duke it out actually. Back to Other M, how did you get past that ice "Bull" area? You know where you're crossing the bridge, you fall into that pit and fight that charging thing? Well, I've beat him already but not sure where to go. And how far would you say I am into the game? (Hoping to have a lot ahead of me, love long games).

And a side note, I like how EA is trying to anger gamers who buy their games used. In order to play online you have to use a code to obtain an online pass. If you buy it used, you have to purchase a 'pass' for $10, therefore discouraging people to buy it used. Say that a used copy of Madden's just a few bucks less, really you could be spending more than you would just buying it new.

Just got Mirror's Edge in from Gamefly the other day, and, well, damn. I never thought a game could be as simultaneously fun and hair-pullingly frustrating at the same time as Portal, but I believe this is as close as I'm gonna get.

Of course, I need to keep plowing through it, I'm only on Chapter 5 and I need to return it to get HAWX 2.

I found the learning curve on mirrors edge really frustrating. It's really unforgiving. It has that look of being a really awesome experience, but gets hampered by often deaths.

I've only played a few levels of it. It's sitting in my pile of "to finish" games.

I'm thinking about getting one of those classic controllers for the Nintendo Wii.

Which is better: the Classic Controller Pro or the Wing Wireless Controller?

Neither. Get THIS!!!

It only came out in Japan and it's freakin AMAZING!!!!

^That's pretty awesome. Next will be wireless NES and N64 controllers? That would be cool too though buying a whole new controller just for that would be a pain.

Though a different platform altogether, I love using my old PS1 controller as a gamepad...functions like a SNES controller when I'm playing some NES/SNES games/homebrew with the comfort of a modern controller.
