J man Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 I enjoyed living in AZ, where we didn't do daylight savings time. Yeah. I don't understand the whole daylight savings time thing.
Satoshi Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 japan has no daylight savings time and i was not gonna change the time! my parents won't let me do that stupid coz if alarm clocks set to daylight savings time in my place it would ring in the very night! they do hate clocks ringin' when they feel sleepy lol!
spaceace12 Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 bump, Fall back on Sunday (or Saturday Night for those who aren't up at 2am).
Angry_Gumball Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 They should have left it as last Sunday. I woke up an hour late thinking "Hey, it's going to be nice and dark today at Great America way before closing!" and I start work at 8:30 till about noon. It's already 9:00 when I get a call (It's 8:00 our time). I ended up a half hour late due to this 1-week delay.
St.LouisBOI Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 Yeah, I was about to say, didn't daylight savings time get pushed back to next Sunday? That's what I think...
downunder Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 We had to push ours forward for summer at the same time, it sucks when you have a 9am game the next morning.
the sound Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 ^ It also sucks if your sleeping at a mates house and got to go to swimming at 9:00 the next morning.
cfc Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 My understanding was that the magic day was the first Sunday in November this year. But maybe it's different for different regions?
Moose Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 ^ I believe you are correct, at least for the US. I know I was very confused this past Sunday morning when half of my clocks changed automatically, including the one on my nightstand. "But the sun shouldn't be up this early???"
RaptorBoyASU Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 Same happened to me.......I woke up an hour late.....
gisco Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 I was baffled at this thread. I thought Elissa screwed up but then I realized that this thread was started last year!
Wes Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 ^ Yeah, I changed the date on the sub title so there wouldn't be any undue clock changing!
ebl Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I'm not changing my clocks. I like them the way they are! Eric
TheStig Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 To avoid changing ANY clocks, and to further my lazyness, I have my VCR (yes, I have a VCR!) clock set to daylight savings time and a regular clock set to non-daylight savings time. All I have to do Sunday is look at a different clock!
JamesMC Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I live in the great MidWest, and last year and this year, we changed our clocks later than we had in previous years- I've noticed lots of bank-signs and marquees nearby that are still programmed to change on the 4th Sunday of Oct. However, I get to sleep in an extra hour this weekend, so I am NOT complaining.
Tömmioh Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 We had it last week the night between Saturday and Sunday, I just woke up like usual in the morning, then after breakfast realized the issue, turned back the clock, had an hour 'extra' yay!, (however I would've slept that if I had remembered). So basically now the time difference from here is shorter to the US (or at least some parts?) until Sunday. That doesn't really mean or matter anything just thinking.
spaceace12 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Time to spring foward. This sunday don't forget or you will be an hour late to wherever you have to be.
spaceace12 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Just so happens my weekend is 71 hours this week, thanks to a vacation day.
ebl Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 "This sunday don't forget or you will be an hour late to wherever you have to be." (spaceace12) Especially because this Sunday is West Coast Bash! Eric
terrancew_hod Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 So if I pick up someone this weekend, I can use that as an excuse to put him out? "You gotta go, I got to get my hour back." Terry
hansrubens Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 In Holland (and probably the rest of western europe) we have to wait 3 weeks. Daylight saving starts here on march 30.
