its considered acceptable on floorless rides. that doesnt mean the park REQUIRES it.

Awesome. Body Count's in the house!

I've noticed that a few parks have started to make people wear their shoes on inverted/floorless rides, as it supposedly assists the evacuation procedure in the event of having to remove passengers from a train.

If you wear flip flops on Dueling Dragons, you have to take them off and then hold onto them or sit on them. On Montu, you can put your flip flops in a little box by the exit gates.

I once wore flip flops at SCBB and I didn't want anything to happen to them on the floorless rides, so I just took them off. I have seen people be forced to take them off on floorless rides before, (SFMW I think) but most people take them off anyway...it doesn't really hurt, just to be on the safe side I take mine off if I'm wearing flip flops.

I still don't get why people wear flip flops, untied skate shoes, etc. to amusement parks. You know you're going to go on coasters that might make you lose your shoes. I mean, do these people have a desire to get their feet dirty or something? I can't even imagine walking across some of the stations I've seen, especially at SFMM, with bare feet. Either that or you've just ruined a perfectly good pair of socks. Ew.

But to answer the topic, no, I've never been asked to remove my shoes before a ride.

^I wore my flip flops because I also went on the beach and I didn't want to get sand in my shoes everytime I walked on the beach. Most of the rides, I would just kick them off right under me (Ex.Double Shot) and then when the ride came back, I would just slip them right on again.

But other than that day I agree with you. I would hate walking a lot in one day with flipflops at a park anyway. My feet would be hurting by the time I got home.

As stated, at Dueling Dragons I have always been required to sit on my flip flops when I was wearing them. On many inverted rides it is highly reccommended and almost everyone does with loose fitting shoes or loose sandals. (Batman, Floorless Frisbee, etc.)

I never understood the logic behind wearing flip-flops to a park either. I always wear tennis shoes out to the park, and have almost had no problems.

However, one particular day at Steel Venom, the operator asked me tot ake my shoes off because she was afraid my feet were going to clip the platform. This was the first time I'd taken my shoes off because of that.

Me and my fiancee take off our sandals anyway, even if they have backs on 'em and are legal.

Bare feet on an invert or a floorless is awesome.

I asked to remove my shoes on Power Tower Turbo Drop at Valleyfair! once. No big deal though. But now I kind of like it without shoes, because you can feel the wind on your feet (more thrilling to me ).

I wear flipflops to parks all the time. Its not that hard to put them on the side so why not wear them. Only ride i question is GOLIATH since ive worn sandals on sheikra. I also think this is one of the dumbest threads ever.

I'm not saying that it's hard to put them on the side, it just irks me sometimes to get off a ride and find my stuff surrounded by (and in one instance, nearly buried in) people's stinky shoes, no matter where I put it in the station.

Like I said before, I mean, if you want to wear them, be my guest... I just don't get why (see my earlier reply).

I once took my shoes off in order to fit on a ride. I got turned away on SFA's S:RoS because the lapbar wouldn't secure properly. I tried it again after taking my shoes off and I was golden.

And I like wearing flip-flops to parks.

i dont like having my feet exposed at the park....i worry about getting cut : (

i did wear them once when we went on Grizzly Rapids Run at DCA coz i didnt want to have wet shoes all day, but we carried them in our pack and just put them on for that one ride......

we have a few rides here at Kennywood where you cant wear shoes that would fall off, like Pittfall, Aero 360 and SwingShot....

this reminds me of being at Universal Studios out in California...we saw a girl in line for ET wearing slippers that said Bates Motel....

she told us that she had lost a shoe on a ride and had to wear these slippers coz it was all the foot wear they could find in the park! and they were about 3 sizes too big for her (she was only about 12 years old)....
