The old ugly/broken Marriot Great America sign is finally being replaced.

This is good - the kind of thing that they should be paying attention to. There are a lot of big things that are still a mess with Six Flags parks, but at least they are paying attention to the details.

To answer a question posted here, the old sign looked just, well, OLD- very 70'sish- more like a Bank time/temp LED scrawl than anything more current than the 80's or 90's.

The sign for SFGAm has been in pretty bad shape the past couple of years. I'd rather see the cash go into something else (like getting Deja Vu or Revolution running consistantly), but you have to start somewhere....

That is the sign in its current state. The scrolling part no longer works, and they added a Hurricane Harbor logo on each side of the base.

We passed SFGAm on our Coach bus from Chicago yesterday - the new sign has been installed! It features a VERY nice color display. Sadly, I had JUST run out of film on my disposable camera and wasn't able to get a picture of it.

I really like the new sign, and it is a lot nicer than the old one from 1976. It looks really nice, and it is good that they finally got a real sign for Hurricane Harbor instead of just a tarp.
