BeemerBoy Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Why am I not so willing to believe RumorScape? If indeed, CP is intending this aquatrax to be "themed" towards the "old west" as was suggested by the clever signage ("hold onto your spurs," etc.), then they really are going a "different direction," since I don't remember the old west looking so lush and tropical.
Carnage Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 I really don't see this ride breaking any records to do with inversions, height, speed, or length. "most of something" is probably going to be a Cedar Point hype term. Like most launch track at one park, most launch coasters at one park, most steel track at one park, etc etc. Every time CP builds a coaster they come up with a whole pile of dumb records that no one cares about.
BeemerBoy Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 ^ It's a trick. By saying "most of" they're really eluding to the least of something. It's the most they're ever avoided using an excesive amount of concrete to "theme" an area.
DarkStitch626 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Maybe added all the launch speeds equal the fastest? LOL just a thought? They would leave PKD trailing behind.. Ohh ohh! "Most intamins at one park!" Speed wise CP gets a total of 262mph! added up for launch coasters including Maverick. PKD even with the most launch coasters gets 244.. Hey Serious side winding- the S-curves. maybe also implying to the fact that the corkscrews go above and over water in 1 fluid motion.(if you look in the pic they are above water) New direction for CP "beyond vertical" Screamscape also talks of an overdrawn Stegel dive. Maybe thats like..right over the first S curve in the canyon themed thing. As it goes back to the station.
Jumboshrmp Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Maybe added all the launch speeds equal the fastest? LOL just a thought? They would leave PKD trailing behind.. Ohh ohh! It's the most red coasters in one park! I seriously hope this whole thing is a hoax! I was hoping for a fully launched ride, not a lift hill ride.
Martin Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 ^ Six Flags Great Adventure has a total of 268. Kingda Ka - 128 Batman: The Chiller - 70 Robin: The Chiller - 70 Total - 268
coasterfreak101 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Watch this turn out just like Griffon...all hyped up, everyone's so excited, and then as soon as they see it there's something wrong with it. Eh, either way, I'm excited.
DarkStitch626 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Well problem..Chiller is only counted as 1 ride so 70 Added once. Sorry. lol Ok back on topic. Whats wrong with a Lift and launch ride combo? Look at Powder keg..
Jumboshrmp Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Well problem..Chiller is only counted as 1 ride so 70 Added once. Sorry. lol Ok back on topic. Whats wrong with a Lift and launch ride combo? Look at Powder keg.. But chiller is two coasters... and has two launches... and, heck, it's two credits, so why should you only count it as one?
DarkStitch626 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Park perspective as I use to work there its listed as 1 attraction. lol. Thats why but I guess in an enthusiast perspective..then ok.
Martin Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Well problem..Chiller is only counted as 1 ride so 70 Added once. Sorry. lol If Chiller is two separate coasters, with two separate launches and layouts how on earth is it one? Great Adventure therefore has 268.
DarkStitch626 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Ok thats right then. *laughs hysterically* this is montey python crap! "What is the air speed of an unladent swallow?" "Uh I don't know that.." *gets tossed into the pit* LOL. Ok please back on topic.
Astat Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 African or European? I...I don't know! AHHHHHHHHHHH! *falls from Bridge of Death*
niiicolaaah Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 I must say the ride looks awesome. Its themed too. Cedar Point is doing something they havent done since Disaster Transport. Cant wait til next wenesday to learn all the facts. Where did you get that picture from?
coastrfreak2000 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Since its from Screamscape, I'm still not ready to believe thats the layout, but it still looks cool!
Jive Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Now the park gets a double release. Lot of action and excitement over the leak and then another round once the animations and details are released.
Carnage Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 It's probably not a leak. With a good portion of the ride completed, just about anyone could take a pretty good estimated guess and call it a "leak". All they're doing is filling in the gaps that aren't in place yet.
ParkTrips Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 It doesn't look themed to me any more than WOF's Patriot was... also to those who say they won't believe the image because its from Screamscape. Normally I would agree to aproach the website with skepticism but 1. its an image and 2. it looks a lot like Kieth's work (probably a photo of a sign they will put in the park) However it does look a little better than I had expected... sans the gimmicky nature.
Screamomatic Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 It looks really fun, I hink it will be a hit next year.. I predicted that's what the layout would look like, I wonder what type of trains it will have.. I don't think it'll be a WingWalker but I'm not sure it'll be an AquaTrax either.. I think it'd suck if it had normal looping trains, I hope they do something interesting for a such a simplistic layout.
CP_RULES Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 It doesn't look themed to me any more than WOF's Patriot was... Patriot isnt themed at all except for the station, Im thinking this is themed a little more than that. Anyways, what happened to all of the "aqua trax" screaming lunatics? They seem to have vanished after there theory is pretty much in the dumps.
BeemerBoy Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 AQUATRAX AQUATRAX AQUATRAX EDIT: Oh, did I mention aquatrax?
redfoot12 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Wasn't a picture just like Screamscape's posted earlier in this forum, then deleted? Am I hallucinating? Is that really what an Aquatrax looks like?
