Alright, Im sure people has a local eatery they go to that they like. Not one that is not a national chain, but locally owned and such...

Well, if you live in Florida, I am sure you have heard of Tiajuana Flats. Its a Mexican place that specializes in hot sauces. Their catchphrase? "Smack My Ass and Call Me Sally!" I went there a few minutes ago and decided to try the HOTTEST sauce (Painful Torture) and I dipped a little on my finger, tasted it, and BURNED my tongue.

Luckily, the burn is gone in my mouth, but it is still tingling (I went there awhile back, you know) and its still burning on my lip. If you are in Florida, look for a Tiajuana Flats, best restruant ever.

Anyways, what is your favorite "local" restruant?

Believe it or not there's a good authentic mexican Restaurant up here in Ithaca, run by an actual Mexican. It's called Viva Taqueria, and it has the best and biggest burritos I have ever seen.

I know it's a chain restaurant, but Cracker Barrel has some of the best food I've ever eaten. Great breakfasts, and they make a hell of a chicken fried steak too. The first one I ever went to was in Florida near Jacksonville, but they have one up here in Watertown now, as well as near Buffalo. Joy

We have a lot of local resturants in the area to choose from, I think we only have maybe one chain resturant and thats it. My favorite, Cracker Barrel Pub. Not to be confused of the Cracker Barrel Country Stores, this is a local resturant in the small town center (all 200ft) of Tariffville, CT. They have really good food, mmmm... And a really nice patio to eat on with a big tree growing out the middle.

We have a couple stand outs here in Bloomington, IN. Scotty's Brewhouse! This is just an awesome sports pub. The food is awesome. Some of the best burgers you'll ever have. I've actually never had anything from the restaurant that wasn't insanely good. Cafe D'Jango is another. This restaurant has one of the coolest atmospheres of any restaurant I've been to. It's actually a house that has been converted to a restaurant (we have a lot of those around campus) and they serve all sorts of various things. It's a little on the pricy side (for what it is) but they give you SO much food that is so incredibly good. Plus, they have live jazz and folk music which adds a nice touch.

As I live in San Francisco, which is sort of the Cedar Point of eating out, there's plenty to choose from, including incredible special occasion restaurants like Shanghai 1930 that are above my usual budget. For frequent eating, I love Chutney, an inexpensive Indian place that reminds me of the food I ate when I was in India, only without the threat of dysentery. For Mission burritos (yeah, those big-as-your-head babies were born in SF), Taqueria San Jose. Single fave food in the City just now: the Thai pumpkin curry at Bang San.

Our little town of Aurora, Ontario has few unique local places but if you want BBQ ribs, the place to go is The Purple Pig. They have won competitions for their ribs.

Now, when I travel to Richmond, Va on business I always try to go to Extra Billy's BBQ on Broad St. Their pulled pork is to die for....

There is a chineese place up the road from here called King Buffet (King is my town's name) that's pretty good, they jsut renovated though and it's alot worse than it used to be. they got rid of my favorite dish. (scallion chicken ownz j00)

There is a place called Hickory Smoked Barbecue place that's pretty good too, but it's NOTHING like Outback Steakhouses ribs.

And there is another place called P.B. Clarks that's supposed to be real good, ut i've never been.

Taco bell still ownz almost every resturaunt though.

In Fort Lauderdale, Nick's Italian Restaurant, on A1A just north of Oakland Park Blvd. Not just good pizza, but good everything Italian. A little pricey, but great portions and excellent quality.
