millertpr Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Clint Novak, who knows a lot about Valleyfair and had it as his home park for years sent me the photo below of what they are doing at Kings Island. It looks like if you have a cup, you can just scan it and go through. Pretty convenient. New and different, though. Cool? Yes or No? Comment Below...
BuffaloWingRider Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 We should just start a vending machine thread at this point.
WolfBobs Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 We should just start a vending machine thread at this point. I'm not renewing my passes this year now that the park isn't getting the soda machines I think we are entitled to! It is our anniversary after all!
PhantomPoster32 Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Wow. You guys really suck. WOF has had Freestyle machines for several seasons now -- in fact they have TWO locations.
BuffaloWingRider Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 WoF fans coming here periodically just to shame VF and prove WoF is better. I was just finally addressing it. ...and no one new what I was talking about but there you go^^^
FKA 'Playa Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Wow. You guys really suck. WOF has had Freestyle machines for several seasons now -- in fact they have TWO locations. Since I can haul whatever soda I'd like into Schlitterbahn--the only park in the Kansas City area worth mentioning--that's a moot point.
WOFanatic Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Wow. You guys really suck. WOF has had Freestyle machines for several seasons now -- in fact they have TWO locations. This was uncalled for. Chill...
VF15 Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 If anyone is interested, there is a new Valleyfair 40th anniversary history exhibit opening at the Scott County Historical Society in downtown Shakopee. http://scottcountyhistory.org/museum-exhibit/valleyfair-celebrating-40-years-of-fun/ Also, looks like Flying Eagles is almost ready.

However most of us who were associated with covering the project from the start know it is a major scaled down version of what it was supposed to be and thus we have a hard time getting excited about it in its current form. Wow. You guys really suck. WOF has had Freestyle machines for several seasons now -- in fact they have TWO locations. This was uncalled for. Chill... Lighten up, Francis

Except the folks hustling in to 'book' Verruckt rides the minute the park opens. Or the Travel Channel--who dedicated more airtime to a single Schlitterbahn attraction than they've ever spent on WoF or VF combined. Yup! Guess you've got your finger on the pulse of What 'Meerka Thinks. But if we lower our sights to mere amusement rides wellll there's still nothing at either WoF or VF as intense as kicking a Sky Fly into a blistering 20-30 loop tailspin. Nothing even REMOTELY close. Which Minnesotans can do with a foot of snow on the ground. Provided, of course, that you've learned how it's done. *mic drop*

I guess since its in my backyard and I could ride it anytime it's not a big deal (to me). TMNT Shell Shocked is a fun ride. I wouldn't say it's the end all of flats but it is a fun ride. The flipping isn't overly difficult to master but had resulted in some nasty bruises from too many rides in a relatively short period of time. I honestly enjoy just sitting there and going with the flow more than working to flip.

Well sorry for not being able to recognize sarcasm over text, and with all due respect it's somewhat difficult to decipher jokes given your attitude towards VF and the people who are fans of it. On a different note, that exhibit looks pretty interesting, I'll probably take a look at it sooner or later. I'm sure they probably got some pretty old stuff there. The oldest thing I have from vf is a map from the mid 80's. It would be pretty cool to see old employee uniforms and stuff like that.

I'm just gonna leave this here: Well I guess your humor was lost on the masses (read: it wasn't funny enough for people realize it was a joke)
PhantomPoster32 Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 So back to these "surprises" that have happened in the park. Any word other than the vague original post?
BuffaloWingRider Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Well sorry for not being able to recognize sarcasm over text, and with all due respect it's somewhat difficult to decipher jokes given your attitude towards VF and the people who are fans of it. Perfectly said, really nice job, but this user comes here periodically to stir up chaos with a "joke". He did it two weeks ago, he has done it before that, he's doing it now, and he'll do it again. I can't react to this like I used to if it happens every two weeks . So this thread doesn't permanently stay on "WoF vs VF" I advise everyone ignore it.
CaptainUnknown Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 So apparently Screamscape is reporting that Cedar Fair still has the Centurion trademarked. I could totally see it being used on a Red Track/Black supports invert at Valleyfair. Though I am still partial to Primal or Cthulhu myself.
drummermattk Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Forgot to post this but the stage has begun to be set for the new BMX show!

I could totally see it being used on a Red Track/Black supports invert at Valleyfair. Though I am still partial to Primal or Cthulhu myself. I thought the name was trademarked for Roller coasters, which would leave it open for flats/water rides. I think a better name for an Invert at VF would be Blizzard, Blizzard Break, or Yokai
ariznglori Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I think a better name for an Invert at VF would be Blizzard, Blizzard Break, or Yokai Please not Blizzard, I don't want to think about Dairy Queen or bad driving conditions every time I see the coaster. Being a Cedar Fair park, I expect a bird theme. lol!
FKA 'Playa Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 (edited) Indeed. To my knowledge, Valleyfair is the only Cedar Fair park--ahem, lemme go CF mode, ON THE PLANET--that lacks a random attraction with a name ending in 'Hawk.' Thunderhawk, Skyhawk, a poultry-vending stand named ChickenHawk...something. Edited April 14, 2016 by FKA 'Playa
dippindotsguy8 Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I think a better name for a VF B&M would be "Flying Pigs"
FKA 'Playa Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I thought that's what they named this year's addition.
