Magic Conch Shell, what should we do about Spam Threads?

Nothing

The Shell has spoken

WRONG! You click on the icon that looks like an exclamation point, to notify the moderating team. The moderating team will make the Spam thread magically disappear.

Bump just found some spam in some-one elses thread, although the mods must be super fast, this is one of the first times i've ever seen it.

The newest trick I've seen of these things, is their inserting the SPAM

into an already exiting thread, as a post, with the link embedded.

Those are fairly easy to watch out for. And it can be reported, too.

The ( !) is there in the post, as it is in all posts.

I've seen 1 or 2 where they've actually seemed to almost make sense and been related to the topic with a link, I just look at the post count of the user and the link that comes up when I put my mouse over it, if they only have 3-4 posts I quickly check the link instead of clicking and report it. Sometimes the link can look like it is related and redirects me to spam, do you get in trouble if you ever accidentally report a post and it turns out to be legit?
