zingo Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Hey, I just saw these pice on themepark.nl . Its the new Eurofighter model of gerstlauer. We(in the netehrlands) hope its the new coaster for Duinrell, but we can't be sure. The Euro-Fighter 320+ is Gerstlauer Amusement Ride's fourth Euro-Fighter roller coaster, which will feature the sensational 97°-drop in a complete new layout. 97° drop –loop – immelmann loop – heartline roll – 4,5g-helix: the Euro-Fighter 320+ offers everything on a track length of 361m and a base frame of just 60m x 38m. Because of this, the Euro-Fighter 320+ is the ideal choice for smaller parks to offer their guest the extraordinary thrill of this roller coaster. At the moment, the Euro-Fighter 320+ is built up at the factory premises in Münsterhausen and sucessfully completes its first test runs before it will be open to the public in 2007. Check this site again to find out, where you can experience this amazing ride. and the stats: Width ~ 197 ft Depth ~ 125 ft Height ~ 73 ft Track length ~ 1185 ft Track width 3,94 ft Speed ~ 44 miles/h max. vertical acceleration ~ 4,5g min. vertical acceleration ~ -1,3g Vehicles, 8 persons each 3 Capacity ~ 850 pph Connected Load ~ 90 kW and some pics: Looks like a VERY cool ride with some very oversized intamin track!
pvcoasterguy Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Wow... that looks really intense! Gerstlauer has come a long way since the days of crappy wooden coaster trains. I believe they will continue to become more prominent in the industry, especially with some of these new designs.
apollo210 Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 I want to see one of those at canobie to replace the corkscrew! THat rides looks like a fun, intense ride! Gerstular is really surprising me lately
CoasterFanatic Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Nice. The cut-back loop is back. Suck it long and suck it hard Drachen Fire.
viking86 Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 I think the tri-track looks kinda ugly, but the ride itself looks very fun. Im sure we will see much of Gerstlauer in the years to come.
spaminacan11 Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 It looks like a lot of fun but THEY STOLE INTAMIN TRACK!
viking86 Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 ^And Intamin "stole" the Schwarzkopf track http://www.rcdb.com/ig37.htm?picture=18
Reon Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 ^Maybe they're just learning from t he pors? Tri-track supports complex elements quite nicely, or so I have heard. Anyways, ride looks sexy. I hope KI tears down SoB and replaces it with one of these things
okinawaboy11 Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Looks like Intamin Triangle Track on steroids.
peteb Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 If you dig back you'll find that Arrow was one of the first companies that tried a triple truss type track used on their suspended prototype. It was very strong but at the time expensive and difficult to make.
TheStig Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Maybe they are doing this so that the loop can be more supportave of itself? I mean look at it, there are a total of 4 supports between the loop and the cutback. Colin"its does look cool though"C
okinawaboy11 Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 ^ That would make sense. It doesn't have that support that wraps around the entire loops like on Typhoon at Bebbejaanland. But then again, Speed nor the one at BonBon land have that either, so, I dunno.
bgwfreak Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Makes me wonder if we'll see any of this on the Dollywood coaster. Can't wait to ride my first Euro fighter. Who knew I'd ever be excited about a Gerstlauer coaster.
peteb Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 You're right; that's the whole idea of these new track systems where the track is a structural member.
viking86 Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 It doesn't have that support that wraps around the entire loops like on Typhoon at Bebbejaanland. But then again, Speed nor the one at BonBon land have that either, so, I dunno. Whats this then http://www.rcdb.com/ig2721.htm?picture=8 ??
nemesis-storm Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 I also think it's highly likely that Duinrell will get one of these models of Eurofighters, as the stats RCDB quote are very similar to this type. Possibly, the Eurofighter that's going to Adventure Island in Southend UK will one also or close to it. As the log flume the coaster is rumoured to replaced is not very big. I was only looking on the Gerstlauer website on Tuesday night about this coaster too.
DerekRx Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Wow, Gerstlauer has really come a long way from making really painful wooden coaster cars! I really enjoyed Speed and this new model looks promising as well, especially adding in a cutback, which I always wanted to experience.
TheStig Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 I dont know who Rick is, but according to his ride, he sounds pretty delightful! Colin C
chaos Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 I love the new model. It makes the ride look less like the coasters you'd find at a carnival.
okinawaboy11 Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 It doesn't have that support that wraps around the entire loops like on Typhoon at Bebbejaanland. My fault.
coasterguy618 Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Finally! The first cutback since Drachen Fire. Looks fun. IMO it could be a little bigger though.
Gnome Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Gerstlauer has never ceased to impressed me in the past couple of seasons. Seems like they are really growing as a company.
DATman Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 ^^Not quite. This one doesn't fully invert. It's more of an intense (hopefully) overbank.
ECZenith Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Wow, very impressive! They just keep rolling out new products.
