Tmcdllr
I think the clue to all this is in the word "unique" and exactly what is meant by that. At the very least if that means unique to the park's lineup that would still be totally awesome. Maybe so this doesn't get totally ruined, the subject of 'project 18' should be dropped until it gets close to the time of the official announcement. Being a year or so away this is going to get discussed to death to the point that when it is finally announced, the reaction on here could just be meh. Or, this could work in favor of the park, a mysterious project discussed for so long that it draws a ton of interest and publicity for MM. I almost wish I didn't know anything about this until next year. Either way I will be very excited to go and check out whatever this is when it opens. SoCalCoasters
^It's because of people like you that nobody takes Screamscape seriously...And yes, the possibility of them running S:TE back at its full speed has been discussed. But nobody actually knows anything at this point so it's all just speculation. I'd vote Intamin for Project 18 if I could choose. I have nothing against B&M but the B&M to Intamin count in the park is a bit one-sided. I did some serious background research of the park terrain and their budget and came up with the possibility of a ZacSpin...I didn't mean to act stupidly, I actually put some time into researching their next big project...I in no way meant to "hinder" the site. I mean come on...there isn't a single ZacSpin in the US, they would not need a big plot of land (Tidal Wave is leaving so there is a perfect amount of space for one), Six Flags has dealt with Intamin in the past and I'm sure they could work out a deal for fixing one coaster and building another for a reduced price, ZacSpins provide a amazing ride experience in a small plot of land, and finally, they don't have an outrageous price tag. Since all the parks try and find ways to save money and bring guests in, this type of ride seemed to be the most likely (besides an El Loco) and the most $ signs per foot. Oh and they don't take that long to build. I'm sorry if you thought i was trying to satrt a rumor mill on Screamscape...even Robb mentioned the idea of a dive machine, and it ended up on Screamscape. I guess what I'm trying to say here is I don't just suddenly jump to conclusions and email Screamscape what I thought. I did a google earth of the park and Tidal Wave is a good spot to a put a ZacSpin...so I did do my research. Sorry for the long post
ebl
I wouldn't count on a Zac Spin. It's too much like X2. One thing to remember about Screamscape...it's a collection of rumors and other theme park gossip submitted by...anyone. Sometimes it's dead-on; other times, pure speculation. Just because it's on Screamscape doesn't automatically make it true, but if it's on Screamscape, it could be a possibility. Easiest way to sum it up a rumor from there---a definite maybe. Skycoastin Steve
Everything I've ever sent to Screamscape has been information I've been given by people that know. I've probably e-mailed Lance 5 or 6 times with all kinds of information, and I can only think of one piece of information that ended up being completely wrong. I actually try to keep the standards up for that site, as I see it as a pretty valuable resource for dorks like us. When people like the above poster come up with pipe dreams and random ideas and send them in, that's when Screamscape looks idiotic.
coasterking2981
I agree with EBL, a Zac Spin is too much like X2. SFDK is a park that I would see getting a Zac Spin as a new coaster. As for the new coaster, my money's also on a Eurofighter. Hopefully it'll be a better themed Dark Knight (if that's its name) than its counterparts at the other SF parks? SoCalCoasters
Ok I'm sorry for making Screamscape look "idiotic" because of what I tried to find out about the ride. I didn't mean to do anything stupid...I just tried to find of about the ride. You said yourself that you sent something toLance that was incorrect...so I guess I could be wrong. I am not trying to make up a "pipedream". I simply tried to come up with the most logical choice of coaster. For that I am sorry, truly.
Sir Coaster
I find it funny that we're already discussing the 18th coaster arriving at Magic Mountain, when their 17th hasn't even OPENED YET.... Then again, 'Mr. Six's Dancecoaster' isn't exactly the coaster Magic Mountain fanboys were waiting for as a 17th coaster.

YOUVE RUINED THE SANCTITY OF THE COASTER COMMUNITY!!!!! GAHHHHHHHHH THIS SERIOUS BUSINESS HAS BEEN DESTROYED. OK, seriously, it doesn't matter. It's not like anyone bases their life off of Screamscape rumors...and if they do...well...then I guess it's okay if they yell at you. Although, there's little to none chance of a Zac-Spin ever coming to SFMM. We already have a 4D coaster, and their capacity is utter crap!

MagicMountainMan
SoCalCoasters yeah I wasn't trying to be a jerk, it was just a little nudge. And it's good to know you aren't one of those people who randomly submit things to Screamscape! So no harm done, just know that there are people who do read Screamscape and do think that everything it says is pure and utter fact and will completely blow one person's research/analysis/pipe dream out of the water if it is posted there. Moral of the story, if you ain't got a source, it probably isn't worth submitting. And that's our lesson on Screamscape today kids!
robbalvey
Is there a reason why we are having such a pointless discussion? Please waste our bandwidth a little more why don't you.... And to SoCalCoasters...don't be a f**king moron and stop playing RCT in real life!!!!
SoCalCoasters
Yeah...the only time I've had a real source was when a Dinsey castmember accidentally told me a few things about the Tron ride he wasn't supposed to... let's just say it's not just a rumor Note: to confirm the source, I asked five other cast members who said a Tron ride was coming, but didn't reveal anything else SFMMwise, I found a funny video on YouTube of Superman the Escape...modified...lol the person cgi'd it to make it look like it flies Off the track and then back on...it's called Roller Coaster Day 2010 by freddiew
robbalvey
^ WTF dude? Is English not your first language? chickenbowl
^ I'm sorry , but that was the best metaphor I ever heard in my life. I love going to Magic Mountain, so I approve almost any coaster they might put in, if any. There's a ton of theme parks in SoCal, so I just feel lucky that we have all the stuff that we do. Calicoasters
Looking forward to going to the park this Sunday! I will finally get to ride Terminator without the audio and... well I guess that is it. As for Project 18... with the success of 4 Tony Hawk coasters manufactured by Gerstlauer and the cloning ways of Six Flags, I can imagine them building more Eurofighters. As for the capacity, I don't care! A great ride is worth the wait.
fatdaddy
...even Robb mentioned the idea of a dive machine, and it ended up on Screamscape. Somehow I think Robb is a little more credible source. That being said, I think a eurofighter would be a good option to please both the enthusiasts and the GP. robbalvey
And a Eurofighter doesn't have to be low capacity. Just look at Mystery Mine. That ride seems to do quite well. --Robb "Does a hell of a lot better than Deja Vu..." Alvey Edited September 3, 2010 by robbalvey
Tmcdllr
I agree and as for capacity, talking about THBS, when I rode it at SFDK, the line was long, but all the cars were running and the line was constantly moving so I see no issue there, if it is something like that I would imagine they would have the same number of cars if not more at MM. Honestly, this early into it, how can anybody (including myself) even speculate on capacity. For all we know, this is not going to be a coaster but a new, super awesome restroom complex with self flushing toilets, touchless faucets, "hands free" wiping machines, and those really cool Dyson Blade hand dryers, those things are frikin' sweet! WFChris
I am pretty sure Project 18 is going to be a celebration of the 18th time they convince us that a housing development is being built where the park currently stands. My 2¢

John Knotts
Well you gotta figure that eventually there will be an 18th coaster regardless...it's just a bit too early to care. I'm more interested in what exactly is happening next year.
Yamez
I'm more interested in what exactly is happening next year. Obvious answer! Project 18! All joking aside, any new news on what's going on at Superman? I'm intrigued if its just a rehab, or if they're going to do something more with the ride. I have a friend that lives out about 30 minutes from Magic Mountain, and I asked him to ask one of the Superman employees, and apparently, one of the employees said he couldn't say much about it, but somethig is indeed changing on Superman for 2011...
