^Ha!

The guy on the Thomas Train was actually promoting the Petting Zoo on the ride yesterday! "Go check out the Animal Farm, Open Noon - 5pm"

It's a pretty sad and pathetic petting zoo though.

I heard spot welding on Tatsu, but does anyone know why the giant crane was up there yesterday?

To assist in holding up the platform the welder was working from.

Huh? The welders use jet packs to propel themselves to the points on the ride that need to be weded. The crane was clearly being used for some other secret mission purpose.

Haha that's not really what I meant, I just wasnt sure if it was for welding or some other purpose

While in line for Goliath on Sunday, I happened to notice some 'test paint' on the base of Superman the Escape. This clearly means that they will be painting the structure Yellow, Red, and Blue (the colors I saw). And will be renamed Hot Dog on a Stick: The Escape.

^ Actually, that paint has been there since sometime last year, if not earlier. Who knows when/if the tower will be painted. There are too many other more pressing needs there right now.

But it would look cool in red, blue, and yellow.

Hope im not slow in asking/pointing this out:

But did anyone else take a ride on or notice the New bumpercars are there and working?

I did hear that they have fully replaced the bumper cars with the new ones now, however I haven't ridden in them yet.

Are they any faster?

When I rode them last week, it was about half that were new and half that were old.

No difference between the new ones and old ones other than that the new ones have all the decoration and feel of driving an overglorified Power Wheels.

Not that it matters... at least they're finally improving the place.

^ If this is your first visit, then I hope you have a great time and get to ride everything. We've bashed the park over the years, but I find a visit there quite enjoyable, to be honest.

To be fair though Eric, the park is a lot better today then it was say 5-6 years ago when a majority of that bashing was taking place.

You'll have a great time at the park, it has always had a great collection of coasters and now that many other improvements have been made it really is a fun place to visit.

I've been before, but I was really young and don't remember much. It was around 2003, and the only thing I remember is walking around going "Whoa! This was on Rollercoaster Tycoon 2!"

I know this is kinda off topic in terms of what you guys are talking about now but... I'm heading off to California in August and we're definitely going to spend a day at MM so I was wondering what my priority rides should be. The problem is, I tend to wuss out on rides that are bigger than anything I've been on before(the largest coaster I've ridden was Fire Dragon in Busch Gardens. We didn't get to try the Hulk because the queue was like 2 hours long and it made more sense to do other rides instead) and so I was planning on working my way up to trying the larger rides. The only problem with this is that it will be in the middle of summer and the queues are no doubt going to be massive so will I end up missing out on some of the better rides? It also doesn't help that Scream and Riddler(the rides I were going to try first) are at the back of the park, and Viper and Colossus(the rides i were going to try next) are right at opposite sides of the park. Anyone have any advice of what I should do? Maybe just forcing myself to go on X2 would be my best bet.

If I were you I would go to the end of the park away from X2, Viper, Revolution. If you get to the park early in the morning you'll be able to knock out a lot of the rides you want to experience like Scream, Goliath, Riddler's, Batman, etc with no wait (line).

You could take on rides like X2 and Tatsu later on in the day (of course probably with lines, but this strategy is definitely manageable if it is your intention to experience all the rides at the park).

So if I were you I would make sure I get to the park early. Head to Goliath first. From there go to Scream then Colossus, Batman and Riddlers. From there I suppose Goldrusher, Superman, and Ninja, and then Deja Vu and Terminator.

Then Tatsu, Revolution, X2, Viper.

Good luck on your trip.

I would try maybe a Monday, Tuesday or a Thursday if you want to know the best day to go to the park.

I'm also going for my first trip to sfmm this year, on a saturday in july , and I've got myself a gold flash pass

But everyone gave me the advice to rush to X2 first , not to go to Goliath..

Is that because x2 has no flash pass and the toher rides do , or is that for others reasons ?

I never used or purchased a flash pass or anything. I do this because I've had a great experience being able to knock out all the rides there are to ride.

I usually always save X2 for later in the day, night as I am willing to deal with the line for that ride.

I'm probably speaking that that is a good strategy to take if you don't have a flash pass or anything otherwise it wouldn't really matter as you won't have to worry about lines necessarily.

But if you go toward Goliath (that end of the park) especially early in the morning you're not going to face any lines for awhile for the rides in the area. Plus if you want to you can ride Goliath, Scream, Riddler's, Batman multiple times while you're at it. Most people will head off to X2 or Tatsu (that's where the majority of the morning crowd gravitated toward (though this is my experience prior to Terminator).

I go to Goliath and knock out every ride on that end of the park as I mentioned (Goliath, Scream, Colossus, Batman, Tidal Wave (if it is open ) Riddler's, Goldrusher). It's like a precise sequence one after the other. Then you'll gradually make your way up to where you can ride Superman and Ninja. Then head back down to Deja Vu and Terminator.

Then I just worry about riding X2 and Tatsu. Revolution and Viper are never a problem (for me) when it comes to lines throughout the day. Though I usually ride Viper last. After waiting a hour or two for X2 usually I get off and there's about 20 minutes before the park is closed so I just go to Viper and ride a couple of times.

Good luck with your trip.

^^First thing first, grow 5 more inches by next year.

Second, the only major coasters you can ride are X, Goliath, Terminator, Colossus, Ninja, and Revolution. A shame you have to wait to ride the beemers, which is ironic that they are the more milder of the major attractions.
