Anyone ridden all the RMCs yet?
cparkes92 replied to kweiss's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I haven't been on an RMC, but I'd love to get on at least one this year (If I get on one, it will likely be Goliath or Storm Chaser) -

Yes the park is pretty new, (Rangers) however with the brutal summers we have it should have been built with a roof in first place. 105 to 110 in the summer with field temps higher. It will make a for a better fan experience and I imagine would bring in other players such as pitchers who don't want to pitch for the Rangers in the brutal heat. The old stadium is staying put, it will be used as venue for entertainment and such. The Braves' stadium wasn't originally built for baseball. It was originally the Olympic stadium for the 1996 Olympics

but isn't it spring break? i figured it would be more like normal summer days this week. ========================================================== Spring break in So Cal is all over the map. For the most part SFMM goes with LAUSD school schd and they go with Spring Break as April 10-14 ............other schools. heck even Santa Clarita cant get kids on same break with William Hart Schools (high schools) Spring Break is April 4-7 and Newhall School District (elem schools) break is March 27 - April 7th . Then we rove around and Antelope Valley was last week March 20 - 24th ...... Ventura is 4/3-4/7............. CSUN was 3/20-3/26 ............. And Cerritos is April 17 - April 21 ........ So when is Spring Break??? ....... Its your call I will go to SFMM later this afternoon and see what the crowd looks like . But i bet lots of local parents with local kids that are off and perhaps 1 parent might have 4 different kids in tow hitting up the lesser rides as i think just Elementary schools are out this week, and i bet most leave around 3 pm. Newhall Schools get two weeks off for spring break! In Michigan, most schools have either 3/27-3/31 (Northern Michigan and the UP) or 4/3-4/7 (the rest of the state) as spring break. Detroit Public is 4/14-4/21.

Some mid-size park in a foreign country would love to have Dragon Challenge! For a DC replacement, I'd like to see a large (single-track) invert, similar to Banshee. In a perfect world, I would like to see Universal fit both a new major coaster and a family ride in that plot. However, I'm not sure if that is possible. On a side note, it appears that Universal doesn't have much space for new rides without taking out existing rides.

Will there be a ride (or an entertainer) called Razor Ramon? -

Same exact thoughts. Has there ever been a ride that opened on the first day of the season? Going off memory, most new attractions open Spring Break- Memorial Day in California. Not sure exactly where the disappointment is coming from but since it's just a rebranding of a coaster I understand thinking they should have had it ready for opening day. It actually makes me more excited to go to the park before Summer as I haven't been able to ride Mass Effect yet due to it being closed during both Halloween & Christmas (my only 2 visits of 2016). I'm loving that shirt I might have to get one myself despite it being technically correct Florida rides seem like they open later than California rides. For CA rides, Goliath (SFMM) opened in February 2000 (kind of odd unless they wanted to beat MF). Including Patriot, it looks like 2017 will be a rare year in which three new major American coasters (Patriot, Invadr, Mystic Timbers) will be open before Easter (then again, Easter is late this year)

I wonder if it was spring break for area schools, which would have increased lines -

Yes it does. Do you plan on leaving your home state/country just to go to a theme park this year?

Roomate for Coastermania?

Expensive maybe (since given the age I assume you're a broke college student, I'm not too far removed and I can totally relate ) but don't worry about it being difficult. We usually book hotels in Sandusky on Holiday weekends a day or two in advance and have no problems. There's no shortage of value hotels in Sandusky. What's your budget? There's no need to book now, so I'd suggest keeping an eye on sites like Kayak and just waiting for a deal to pop up. Just be patient and you'll probably find something. There's no reason to feel like you need to book a room in advance in Sandusky. The number of rooms in that city far outweigh the demand. If past years are an indication, there will be a big bike rally going on that weekend -
