  1. My first thought on these restraints was how well they will be able to fit tall people. I wonder what the max height for those restraints is. Also, I didn't think of a Togo death machine, but I thought of Alien Encounter when I saw these. Is that strange? I guess they're sort of similar.
  2. Wow nice helix and inversion! The work on this thing is going along at a surprisingly fast rate. I wish the webcam would offer a better view of the lift tower though.
  3. Should Six Flags send their Deja Vus to your home park then? I think Deja Vu is a really fun ride. I'm sad that Georgia is losing theirs, it was one of the more thrilling rides in the park. Sure it wasn't as good as Goliath or as smooth as the park's other B&M's, but the vertical spikes sure were fun. and on that note I'd like to cast a vote for the Thomas area for SFOG. Not that I'm protesting a new family addition, but the area doesn't seem to really consist of much.
  4. ^I don't think it can get much darker, they may just turn off all of the lights. I miss the Florida parks, Everest is such a fun ride.
  5. haha, nice video Erik. I got stuck in The Laughing Place on Splash Mountain for 20 minutes one time without the music ever stopping. It was awsome.
  6. Flight Wreck. Maybe these names will sound better after time passes, they'll just take some getting used to.
  7. I really like Silver Bullet as well, but I think its lack of intensity is what causes it to get such bad reviews when compaired to other B&M inverts. Silver Bullet is really fun, but rides like Montu and DD are simply amazing, so it really just suffers from getting bad comparisons. Alpengeist was rough and not fun IMO, but I may have just caught it on a really bad day. That cobra roll had some killer snapping.
  8. Great TR! I love BGE and I recently moved about two hours away from Carowinds but have yet to get a visit in. I love B&M inverts, they're pretty much amazing. Alpengeist sits at the bottom of my list of inverts, below Silver Bullet and Great Bear. It's the only B&M invert that I've been on that I really didn't enjoy that much. I think Apollo's Chariot > SFOG's Goliath, but they're both incredible rides. Keep up the good updates!
  9. ^As far as I know Giovanola went bankrupt in 2004 so it's no longer in the coaster business at all.
  10. ^Yes, it's actually been officially announced by the park. Thomas Town is coming to fill up the space.
  11. I really like Hersheypark, but this is sort of underwhelming. The last time I visited HP was during Storm Runner's premier season and I loved the place. I think all this hype was a good thing but then this announcement left me wanting something better. Maverick looks like a great ride to me, but this looks akward and ugly IMO. I'm not trying to be down on Hersheypark because I really like the place, but I think they could have done better.
  12. That's one of the best PTR's I've seen in a while. Awsome job! Those pics were great!
  13. Spiderman @ IOA during its first year 4 hours
  14. Four rides really stand out above the rest for me, and even though I've been to a ton of parks all four of these rides happen to be in Florida: -Tower of Terror -Spiderman -Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls -Splash Mountain (MK)
  15. Lemme think (in no real order) Storm Runner Revenge of the Mummy (USO) Silver Bullet (Knotts) SheiKra Expedition Everest Mystery Mine
  16. You guys are forgetting Thunderbird. Anyways, I think Troy may be the best GCI so far, which is saying a lot because all of the newer GCI's have been great! I can't wait to hear some reviews for this thing once it finally opens
  17. That's really cool! My sister did a triathalon where they swam across the Magic Kingdom lagoon, biked around backstage, and ran through the Magic Kingdom before the park opened. I think the roller blading thing looks like more fun that a triathalon though
  18. Alpengeist was probably the biggest letdown I've had on a coaster. It was easily the worst B&M invert that I've been on. For such a huge ride I felt like it should have been so much better.
  19. ^ That's true. My Mom will go on wooden coasters but not big steel ones. When we went to Knotts she went on Ghostrider but wouldn't go on Silver Bullet and I think pretty much everyone on this site would agree that Ghostrider is more intense than Silver Bullet. I think the only steel one she would get on was Jaguar.
  20. I really don't get what the big deal is. I mean the ride is delayed till what, June? I missed the flaming wars when Wicked was delayed this year, or what about Troy's lift hill nonsense, lets scream about GCI now! I don't see what all of these B&M comments are doing in here, this isn't a B&M. B&M sells different products than Intamin, this isn't even a very big delay for a coaster. I know that people are upset that it won't be ready for opening day, but most enthusiasts should know by now that booking a trip for opening day doesn't guarantee you a spot on a brand new roller coaster.
  21. Wow, amazing trip report. 1) You're wearing a Gator Shirt (I'm from Gainesville) 2) Format concert- that band rocks 3) oh yeah, and coasters too haha good job
  22. Sorry I can't answer all of your questions, I've only been to the park once but I'll tell you the ones I know 2) I'd go for the Q-bots if you're planning on going to any of the big shows. The Q-bots are really well priced so I think it's worth it. 4)Timber Canyon is pretty isolated from the rest of the park. After getting in the rides there Craftsman's Valley and the County Fair area are a pretty good walk. We headed to Craftman's next, I think it was a little bit closer. 5) Blazing Fury and Daredevil Falls gave a little bit of a spray, but neither got me too wet. Mountain Sidewinder is supposed to get you soaked. 7) Those skillets are at multiple places, just head to Craftman's Valley area and you'll be set.
  23. SFA was really hit or miss when I went. Superman was running two trains and was barely stacking, so they did pretty good. I saw a ride op steal a Black & Mild out of a cubby in Roar's station, so that was probably the worst ride op I've seen in my life. Batwing and Wild One were closed all day, and Mind Eraser had the longest wait of the day because they had the slowest dispatch I've ever seen (too busy being on cell phones). Oddly enough, Two Face was dispatching great which is sometimes rare for a ride like that. Honestly, besides Superman and Two Face everything was either average or below average and I'd have to say it was one of my least favorite parks and I didn't even like Superman that much. That's just my thoughts on the subject... Good TR by the way
  24. It's a brand new ride, breakdowns are to be expected. If it's breaking down for short periods like you said then I wouldn't be too surprised, but if it was just not opening then that would be different.
  25. ^Wow, they hyped it up like it was one of the world's greatest rides or something, that woman was terrified!
