  1. ^ I think I met you after the whole Mindbender ordeal, I was the guy who was with Joe. As far as I saw when I got off Mindbender they were just letting one person ride at a time in that row, which is stupid because it would only take a second to clean up. One time I was next in line for Storm Runner and the same thing happened, except 1) the blood wasn't old enough to be dried out like it was on Mindbender and 2) they wouldn't run the train until they cleaned it up, which took about 5 minutes. ...but then again, that wasn't Six Flags I had never been to SFOG before, I just moved up to the area for college so that was my first visit to the park. All in all I think they did a decent job of running everything, except for Mindbender. They put a second train on Batman and they had two trains running on all of the other B&M's in the park, although when we rode Superman they stacked the hell out of those two trains when there wasn't really a good reason for doing so. I also got to miss Deja Vu for the first time in what I can assume will become a long trend of misses before I can finally get that credit, but it was still a pretty solid day seeing as I got on all of the coasters except one. Oh, and when I went to get my kiddie credit on Canyon Blaster they would only let people ride in the first three cars because they were afraid it wouldn't complete the course or something.
  2. ^haha, my sister is going to your rival school next year. I never took the ACT, but I didn't think the SAT was that bad.
  3. I've only been on Dr. Doom's Fearfall at IOA. I'd expect that other towers may have better drop sequences, but you can't beat Dr. Doom when it comes to the build up to the launch, the closed room is pretty scary.
  4. The entire incoming freshmen class has to read Truth and Beauty: A Friendship by Ann Patchett. Between freshmen move-in day and the first day of classes, the author is coming to campus to speak about the book and whatnot. The people who I know who have started on it say it's pretty much a "chick book", but I haven't gotten around to starting it since they gave it to us at freshmen orientation.
  5. ^He's probably compairing the two because they're located so closely to each other, but if you haven't ridden both than why did you vote? Spoderman all the way, it's much more re-rideable and fun. I'm a fan of Dino, but Spidey is on its own level of awsomeness
  6. Looks like a great trip! Out of those parks, I've been to Hersheypark, BGW, and SFA. I think the only credits I missed out on were Wild One, Batwing, and Roller Soaker. I'm glad you got a ride on Kingda Ka, after you launched did the thought pop into your mind that the brake fins didn't come up one time? BTW, how exactly does KK's loading work with a ticket?
  7. I haven't ridden wither one and probably won't get to ride either one for some time, but if I had to chose I'd say El Torro looks like the best wooden coaster of the year.
  8. My first coaster was Thunder Mountain at WDW in Florida. After that, it was The Barnstormer, Space Mountain, then Dueling Dragons- Ice.
  9. I really didn't find DBH that impressive. Sure, it was a lot of fun and it was smooth, but it really didn't stand out to me. I haven't been on a lot of wooden roller coasters, but my #1 is Lightning Racer. DBH may be really good for a coaster at a park like Boomers, but it didn't seem like one of the best wood coasters out there.
  10. Superman: Ride of Steel at Six Flags America is the first coaster that comes to mind. I'd imagine that the model at Darien Lake would be the same, although I've never ridden it.
  11. I love Dueling Dragon's (Fire) second Immelman, the one that wraps around itself. That gives some INSANE G's at the bottom, one of my favorite coaster moments ever.
  12. I personally think that Black Mamba's theming looks better, but Nemesis looks like the better ride. I haven't ridden either of them though, so that's juast as far as looks go.
  13. Do you think it will be more crowded tommorrow or on Monday?
  14. Does anyone have any experience with how bad crowds will be on Memorial Day? I'm thinking about going to Disney on Monday, since I have a day left on a Park Hopper that expires June 1st. Sonce I have my Senior Breakfast on Tuesday and my Senior Awards night on Wednesday, it's looking like either tommorrow or Monday. Any advice?
  15. ^Faith +1 from South Park?
  16. 23.8 isn't half bad. Was that off of a flat start or a relay start?
  17. WOW, El Toro's drop looks so steep from that angle! That looks so awsome! Nice PTR, looks like you hit a good day to hit the park.
  18. Holy crap that's a lot of Vault! I've never tried the stuff, or any energy drink for that matter. Looks like an interesting dinner.
  19. I have no idea what's going on right now. What just went on in that video?
  20. So Expedition Everest is officially worth more than an entire Six Flags park? Wow, if they're going to close an entire park they need to make sure they're going to get more than that
  21. Wow, I wish some American parks would build more modern dark rides like this. That looks like a lot of fun
  22. I'm sorry if I read into your post the wrong way, but yours was really what just set that rant off. It's more of a reaction to the general response of the original post. A better example might be Derek's post about driving along in a fancy car past "cool kids" with beat up cars and druggies on work detail. That just seems really shallow and materialistic to me. If a Porsche gives you "the last laugh", then go for it. I understand that I'll make great friends as life goes on, but I may never be in an environment as diverse as High School. Through college and a professional life you'll be surrounded by more people who are like yourself, of course it will be easier to get along.
  23. Wow, someone is a little condescending. I couldn't ask for more friends in high school, does that mean I'll amount to nothing? So many people overlook the fact that there are different ways to view a situation. I make the most of what I have- I make all A's and B's in AP classes, I'm friends with pretty much everyone in my grade, I have an athletic scholarship to a Division I school. Please try to tell me that because I'm popular that I won't be something in life. It is possible to do both. Many times people in this situation sit back and convince themselves that if someone has a ton of friends that they're automatically shallow. If someone does drugs, then you're automatically holy. Some of the most intelligent people I know are druggies who dropped out because theyt don't care. Does it make them a bad person? No, it just means that they make poor decisions. Does that make you better than them? No, because the goodness of a person cannot be measured. I could argue that I've never met a druggie as pretentious or judgemental as many people who have made an "anti-popular" statement in this thread. Although I hope anybody who makes such a statement realizes that they only help to polarize clicks by making such distinctions I touched on this earlier, but I'm going to say it again. Make sure you look at yourself through other people's eyes. If you see someone as just a pathetic popular kid, then what do they see you as. If I had to label mcjaco based on his above quote, I'd label him as someone who sits in the back of the class passing judgement on people he never took the time to get to know. Should we be shocked you don't talk to people from your high school? Of course putting a label on someone is the fault of many high schoolers, and I don't like clicks and social groups and I don't associate with them. If you pull up at your high school reunion with more money than some of your high school enemies and think that you're automatically better than them now, then that's just a tribute to smugness. Don't forget that you still have an enemy, and the only way to truly be a bigger person is to do your best to overcome that, not accumulate more material wealth that the other person. That is, unless you believe that wealth and financial success are accurate measures of self worth. I understand that is impossible to befriend everybody, but it is possible to gracefully deter someone from conflict. ....sorry about the really long post, but that's just how I look at some of these responses.
  24. ^There's only one so far.... It's basically a REALLY awsome water coaster
  25. ^I think a nice "Powder Keg @ SDC" theme would fit into the area very well, although I've never been to CP so I can't say for sure.
