Awesome TR. Certainly on my list of places to visit asap Especially with the 2 new Tantrum Slides from Proslide going in next year, I wonder if they will be accessed by the Master Blaster system as well. How many slides are not accessed by this system? the speed slide looks like it has stairs up which i guess is to be expected. But are there many others? why? Indeed why? your young so you never know where your going to go when your older. Even a year ago i never thought I'd goto places like Libya, Senegal and Bulgaria but I've had (and taken) opportunities to goto each with work in the last 6 months. Never say Never.

Nice to see so many new looping waterslides going in too. looks like a bit hit for them. The Dubai Tantrum slides look awesome too. Keep an eye on Screamscape and RCDB to as i imagine both Lance and Duane are there as well. Hoping to get confirmation from Maurer about Chinas X-Car. Screamscape is also reporting that 2 Happy Valleys will be getting new S&S Launched rides.

Hey guys On my most recent jaunt through the Chinese interweb I dug up info on a new 2010 park in China. There is a brand new park called Global Digital Carnival Valley (google translation) or maybe World Joyland (logo) which is set to open next year and is set to feature a custom designed B&M Flier and a Maurer X-car. they also seem to have stolen some of the IOA logo heres a couple of images of the guys from Maurer and B&M A guy from MAURER Söhne signs the deal for the X-Car Sophie Bolliger (walters seemingly very attractive sister) signs the deal for the B&M Flier. Source: http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_59cbae230100fy8n.html Translated Stats for Flier This site contains concept art http://club.5sing.com/2576/ForumInfo-20794.aspx Including this really interesting looking coaster which i assume is probably not accurate It has occured to me this could be that missing yellow track. But the track seems to have been made a bit to early to fit this project. Home Page: http://www.jiaziworld.com/html/JoyLand_About.html More as i find it

If thats how much Hydra was surely the modified Batman The Ride that turned up last year would be about the same price? Seems like a batman with a slightly changed angle after the first drop. Although as with all rumours this could all be rubbish but nothing like a bit of stirring. -
Hey all I've been doing some RCDB research over the last few days and have come across a few coasters like the Vekoma Big Air in Taiwan which you may or may not have known about. We still haven't found that yellow B&M track but we have a few random rip off SLC's to fill our time. And as always I reckon its beneficial to the community if everyone knows about random coasters so I thought id post what we got here. Harbin Amusement Park - Steel Dragon: as R&E will tell you these SBL rip of SLC's are horrible rides. so it beggers belief that SBL are still selling these After Beijing Shijingshan Amusement Park and Discovery World got them I hoped people would realise. But no Harbin Amusement park not only got their own.. they painted it what must be the worst colours of any ride ever Take a look at the news report here to see more. and to see them painting the ride with rollers??? whats up with that http://www.hlj.xinhuanet.com/xw/2009-04/13/content_16238304.htm Shenyang Arboretum is also getting a clone of one of these rides. but as of yet we have no pictures. Floraland - Unknown Inverted: this ride is a bit of an enigma. Looking much like a fake SLC it currently possesses neither the support structure of the SBL type or the layout of the Golden Horse type. We believe it to be a new Golden Horse SLC layout but we will have to wait and see Duane at the RCDB actually visited and took these shots http://www.rcdb.com/8627.htm?p=0 Powerland - Shells Shuttle: a cracking looking little family ride in a shopping mall. not finnished yet but Duane managed to get shots of it testing the other day http://www.rcdb.com/4348.htm Red Dragon Mall - Unknown Booster Bike: currently no pictures but this mall is opening with a 610m booster bike as its main attraction. Why doesn't my shopping mall have any rides. grrrr http://www.rcdb.com/4447.htm Along with the new Mack coaster going in at Ocean Park and the Hong Kong Disney expansion it looks like 2010 is going to be a busy year for China.

Hey guys I recently flew out to Greece via Amsterdam on a couple KLM flights. imagine my surprise when flicking through their in-flight magazine to find an article about Robb and Elissa. Well the main article is about Vekoma but R&E make several appearances. The article makes quite good reading (although there are a couple of errors) and as its now several months out of date I've uploaded the scans for you guys http://i461.photobucket.com/albums/qq340/Gutterflower08/tpr1.jpg http://i461.photobucket.com/albums/qq340/Gutterflower08/tpr2.jpg http://i461.photobucket.com/albums/qq340/Gutterflower08/tpr3.jpg http://i461.photobucket.com/albums/qq340/Gutterflower08/tpr4.jpg your fame appears to be spreading

Hey all This kind of appeared from nowhere. I heard a park in Taiwan called EDA world was building a custom Vekoma Family coaster so i decided to look it up. After a bit of googling i found they have constructed Vekomas Big Air Coaster Already Park Site: http://www.edaworld.com.tw/content_eda_theme_park.php?lan=en More Pics: http://album.udn.com/ajoescola/photo/3456835?o=reply#photoanc For those of you who don't know. Vekoma's Big Air coaster is very much like an Intamin halfpipe on steroids.

This is somewhat suprising. I actually travel with work to Nigeria fairly often and we always travel with armed men. If they do open a park i can't see many westerners visiting. But then i guess thats not the point and maybe they are just jumping on an opportunity. There just seems to be much better places along that coast to place a park. I've been to Senegal, Ivory Coast and Gabon and they were all much more suitable.

Hey I went to SFMM for the first time the other day. I'd always heard some pretty bad things about the park but i had a brilliant time. I was expecting some awful lines and perhaps only getting to ride a few of the major coasters. But instead although it was pretty busy the longest wait was for X2 (1.5 hours) and I got every (non kiddie) coaster in the park with re-rides on my favorites. I think one of the reasons i enjoyed it so much is because we really have no analagous park in the UK. For me Knotts was very much the "Thorpe Park of America" but SFMM was bigger and bolder than anything I've ever done. I also rated all the rides pretty highly. Even rides like Scream which seem to get a near universal slating. Ok it is in a carpark but its still a damn good ride. Perhaps I've just not ridden enough (Riddler was my 100th coaster). Anyway thought id share my 2cents (or pence i guess)

But would it really be a proper clone if the tracks type is different? I can see the pages and pages of posts now. -

For those who haven't seen the update elsewhere 2 coasters are already vertical The Premier Launched coaster is HUGE. those curves but MF to shame, hopefully it will be going round those at quite a pace. The Maurer racers are going up too and look suitably twisted. http://www.thethemeparkguy.com/park/yas-island/ -
Its not actually too hard to navigate round. The links at the top refer to what you'd expect and by clicking on one you can usually figure out what page you are on either by the URL of the page (works less well on chinese sites than japanese sites that often use english urls) or by the pictures on the page. heres a quick guide if you want to have a nose around http://sh.ipow.cn/flash/index2.shtml Map: Top right one is the area containing dive machine (not shown on map?) Rides: Self explanatory Shows: same as above Activity: not sure on this one. seems much like shows News: going through it now. nothing of note Multimedia: backgrounds, calender etc Info: Traffic, Directions, Contact Forum: Under construction Unfortunatly the HV Shanghai site is pretty much useless when it comes to good pictures/info. The new pics of Fireball look superb though. I shall keep trawling chinese news sites for anything relating to the other rides.

Indeed that does suggest its SBL. However as it is an exact clone (layout, cars and all) and as a quick glance at Pleasure Gardens site suggests its no longer there. could SBL have been contracted to move the Pleasure Garden version to mexico and just painted their logo on the side? perhaps after a rehab? SBL do may make the fake SLC's but they are not exact clones, unlike the "Golden Horse" versions like Flame Meteor.
-
Hey I'm fairly sure at least the Wild mouse is a Senyo Design, and it wouldnt suprise me if the the looper was too The cars on this coaster at Pleasure Garden in Japan are the same http://www.rcdb.com/id3030.htm Of course it could just be a SBF knock off of the Senyo Design.. which would probably surprise me even less

Track Spottings!
Gutterflower replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So could Diamondback be a ploy made between Kinzel and B&M to make CP jealous? So after CP started seeing B&M's dad, B&M started seeing Kinzel to make CP jealous..... Shocking. Does this make Vekoma the dirty "bit on the side" the family doesn't talk about? -
Track Spottings!
Gutterflower replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
CP said she wanted to date other companies. B&M wasn't so sure. When B&M found out CP was dating Intamin (which is essentially B&M's dad) B&M entered a spiral of depression and the 2 haven't spoken since -

That is pretty insane. looks like this ride actually might live up to the i-speed name and rip around this track with quite a bit of pace. its a pity the airtime hill doesn't reach the floor but should provide a good pop considering the height difference -

Hey Have they change the layout slightly. I dont remember there being such a long brake section over the station before the finale in the old one. It also looks like theyve removed the final barrell roll for a bunny hop On closer inspection the hop to the left after the first airtime hill looks to have changed to be flatter now too -

I assume its still needed. but doing it this way means the floor doesnt need to be mounted onto the chairs themselves.
