Shane's Amusement Attic

We rode this coaster on the TPR Japan tour last year. Even though it is mentioned in the brochure that it is designed to speed up the operating process that DEFINATLY was not the case. But the transverser did provide two different riding experiences, one standing and one sitting. The standing position was actually smoother than this sitting. Togo actually used this system on one other ride at Washuzan Highland (not sure if any members have been there?) where it Looks like they built the King Cobra model with sit down trains then added the stand-up trains later http://www.rcdb.com/id1432.htm I was kind of hopeing the catalog would show something about Dangai, Togo's first ever stand-up coaster at Thrill Valley (Gotemba Family Land) as it looks the most unique of all of them http://www.rcdb.com/ig2691.htm?picture=1 But none the less a superb update -

For those who cant read german (I.e me) Lap bars only is the key thing we want to know as well as 1x loop and 3x corkscrews, themed queue and station, through rocks and caves, first section of the ride is dark ride as well, entrance to the new area via a tunnel under the river rapids. and I'm actually quite happy there's no model -

http://epfans.info/?id=2236&PHPSESSID=9ff2788c9543c7c7f66d7df967bdbbdb Its time for some serious loop piercing coaster porn. Looks alot like a blue "sky car" in some of those pictures. In a slightly previous update http://epfans.info/?id=2235& there is now a load of black track between the station and the launch. Indoor pre launch story perhaps? -

I spoke to a German friend of mine earlier and he said that it fits fine and this was just a rehearsal for the announcement of the ride soon (where the loop will be topped off. I'm not sure if this is true but if anyone knows more (or can read the German forums) let us know -

congrats Rodder. Whats next for you to tackle? I always thought the launching out of the station was one of the best things about the rockets. I love watching peoples faces that instant the train shoots forwards. -

Hey Jeff. Thanks for the awesome update. Some great pics. I cant believe they never finished that park on the way up to the Wall. I always wondered what became of it. I have a photo of that place when I went past in 2003. looks like they made some progress but never even got any rides in. The same unfinished park from Jeffs Update. just 5 years earlier -

Hey all Thought this might interest some people. My local town of Weston-Super-Mare has proposed a 200mph dragster ride down its famous pier. http://www.grandpierwsm.co.uk/news/180808_fastest_ride.asp Looks like it will be built by Graviton who also built the go karts on the pier http://www.gravitron.co.uk/html/dragsters.html For those of you who don't know. Weston is a small seaside town in the south west of the UK. Popular with the old timers and used to be a favorite beach destination for thousands although it has lost a lot of its trade in recent decades. interestingly the arcade and amusement area at the end of the pier burnt down a few weeks ago. Although the structure remains intact and this new dragster ride is to form part of the redevelopment. http://www.bbc.co.uk/somerset/content/image_galleries/weston_pier_fire_gallery.shtml sounds interesting. but I must admit being from Weston i know that the country council is awful at projects like these. the town swimming pool/water park has been redesigned and put on hold about 20 times in the last 10 years.
