I KNOW what this track is for... its for a coaster on the moon.... can you imagine what that would be like.... i can imagine what a thread about that would be like. -

There isn't a thread around for the DM alone but i've been adding updates to the Fireball construction thread . The DM for the Shanghai park looks like a shiekra clone. solid ride but nothing groundbreaking. -

http://www.rwsentosa.com/video/webcast08_dec.html This video from the Sentosa site has detailed descriptions of the battlestar galactica dueling coaster for singapore. Coasters and more.de did a report from EAS mentioning this ride was a Vekoma coaster http:\\www.coastersandmore.de i would expect it will feature the new Vekoma 4 across trains too -
hey all Theres been a few updates on this ride around but though we should add them to the topic. Gravity Cast has added plenty of new pics See here for more http://thegravitygroup.com/gravitycast/ they have also added a nice little explanation of the changes made to fireball such as the new ending and the removal of the double down off the turnaround. Again pictures are on the above link Last but not least is a picture taken of the parks new Dive Machine from the new Happy Valley Calendar downloadable from the official site looks familer hey?

Hey Sorry but this is clearly wrong.... Interestingly the pattern of rides built in the US and delivered to Asia is a little odd. As far as i can tell recently at least they have been China only Built in Ohio = Crystal Wings (China), Dive Coaster (China), Unknown Dive Machine (China) Not in Ohio = Hollywood Dream (Japan), Phaethon (S Korea) I cant say much for the older 6 (Pyrenees, Diavlo, Gambit, Oriochi, G5 and Insane Speed) but i would hazard a guess that none were built in Ohio. (i have no proof of that but someone might) ----------------------------- As for the track itself As mentioned earlier Judging by the way the track with the inversion connector bends inwards i would say this is not an Invert. And the track is certainly not a dive machine. So that leaves us with Sitdown/Flyer. I would say a guess at a sitdown ride at Universal Singapore is probably our best bet One final thing that might support this. We know that the Vekoma Battlestar coaster in Singapore will have 2 sides. A sitdown and an inverted. I first thought that a hulk style ride would be too similar to the sitdown side of Battlestar until i remembered the article about battlestar having one intense looping side and one more family orientated side. Which would provide a reasonably different ride style. Right now feel free to shoot me down on any of those points. im just thinking aloud -
Hey guys Cheers for the input. I think i may go for the AA flight (its up to the 2 other guys i fly with). A lack of an entertainment system would be quite annoying. but it sounds like its a hit and miss. I've always heard the american airlines are generally worse on atlantic flights than the european ones such as KLM, BA and Virgin. The review sites ive seen generally seem to agree. but from what you guys say it does sound it might not be that bad.

Hey all Im just wondering what peoples thoughts are on American Airlines? Im flying Heathrow to LAX in the summer and American Airlines is currently around £70 cheaper that Virgin Atlantic. (£335 and £405 respectively) I've heard bad things about AA's long haul service when compared to Virgin and BA. I've flown Virgin Atlantic to Florida before and thought the service was excellent but the £70 is tempting. Anyone here had good exepriences with AA?

That does look cool. This could be one of the suprises of the year. Love the way it hops over and round that building -
Hey all. Just came accross this interesting ride called the Edge Coaster on top of the Crown Regency Hotel in Cebu in the Philippines. The ride was built by Interactive Rides. Not really a credit by the looks of it (to most of us anyway) but its an interesting idea with the riders controlling the angle of the car as they go round. Source: Amusement Today Info and Pics http://totallycebu.com/crown-regency-edge-coaster-the-ride-of-your-life http://daisyguoonlinemarketing.wordpress.com/2008/12/15/edge-coaster-pictures-in-40-story-crown-regency-hotel-towers-cebu-city-philippines/ http://daisyguoonlinemarketing.wordpress.com/2008/10/31/edge-coaster-pictures-crown-regency-hotel-38th-floor/ The park also looks like its getting an Interactive Rides Insanity like the Stratosphere in Las Vegas Anyone know if the stratosphere has enough room for the installation of an Edge Coaster?

Would do if i could drive I may have a way round the SFMM problem anyway as i know a couple of guys quite well from New Element who live in the area so may be able to scab myself a lift up from them I shall keep looking for hostels and hotels near Union Station. Edit: Just a quick question. Are The Metro Link and Metro seperate systems? One of the other hostels recommended to me is about a minutes walk from Hollywood and Vines Red Line metro station which is (apparently) a 19min ride to Union Station. Also thanks for everyones help. I really am very thankful. Web sites dont hold a candle to people with first hand knowledge

haha Well I've been trying to avoid the shoddy hostels. Which is why i am looking at the one i am. I dont want to go somewhere where I haven't had good references from friends. Besides even then it cant be as bad as some of the hostels in Rio and Bangkok. But the Santa Monica HI hostel has got good reviews across the board. However the public transport is a bit worrying. Is it really that bad in LA or is it worth just getting a Taxi to the station? I have a hard time believeing its just that awful... but i could be wrong lol

Having done some research today i've been looking at staying in the HI hostel in Santa Monica. I've had a couple of good recommendations from friends and its 40mins on the #10 Big Blue bus to Union Street which isn't too bad (although I imagine i'd have to avoid the rush hour). The prices are'nt too bad at $190 for 7 nights and its right on the beach (near Pacific pier for another credit) There dont seem to be too many Hostels in downtown itself anyway so I might as well stay near the beach for my day off
