Hey The metro sounds pretty much perfect for me then. If i have 6 days to visit parks then I think I'm aiming for Disneyland California Adventure Knotts Berrytain Farm Six Flags Magic Mountain Universal Studios Is belmont park worth a visit? and if so is it easy to get to? or would it be worth spending a 2nd day at one of the other parks? I will be staying in a hostel somewhere in LA probably. In Anaheim most likely although i have a few recommendations for hostels elsewhere in town.

Hey guys Thanks for the info. The car option certainly is not available for me as I cant drive (Yes I'm 23 and can't drive). So it will have to be public transport for me. :s It seems as if the US or maybe just LA is alot less single traveller friendly than my experiences in Asia and Europe where I've done things on the fly. but i guess thats to be expected I will have to look into some cheaper hotels in the disney area as a base to head out to SFMM and Knotts i think. One other small question. having visited the Universal parks in Orlando (pre mummy coaster) is there a whole lot of difference at Universal Hollywood?

Hey all I'm heading to Fiji from the UK in early July with a stop over at LAX on July 10th. I realised it costs me no more flight wise to spend a week visiting some parks in California than if i just spent a few hours making a flight change. Anyhow i'm just wondering how easy it is for a lone traveller to make it out to Knotts, SFMM, Disney, Universal and a few of the other parks without a car? Is there decent enough Public transport in the area and are cheap hostel/hotels available? I've had quite a bit of experience traveling in Asia and Europe but I have never tackeled the US alone as of yet. I've not done any research yet but i thought i'd tap the theme park knowledge bank before i look at just general travel sites. Cheers in advance Dave

http://sh.happyvalley.com.cn/flash/index.shtml A quick update. The Shanghai parks website has now gone live. A quick browse around shows the elusive dive machine and the rest of the expected coaster line up. Fireball is certainly being pused as the parks main attraction. And as the first woodie in China its not suprising. Not had time to browse around much as i'm on a rather slow satellite link but will report anything else i find

http://www.epfans.info/?id=2290& Dear God..... Check out the third photo on the link above for the first part of the overbank out of the loop.... is it me or is that stupidly low... i mean that looks about 1/3 of the height of the loop.... Going to fly through that at some speed. this ride just gets better and better. -

http://onride.de/viewtopic.php?t=28726&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=475&u-1 if you look at the pictures posted by crazyx you can see the track someway above the floor. so i imagine the ride will be coasting slowly or under power on stilts through this section of the building Edit: Fixed the link. -
Hey guys. Although i can't read anything on this store it is pretty darn cool http://producten.hema.nl/ Give it a sec and you will understand

Nasu Highlands to add Indoor Coaster
Gutterflower replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
the translation is a bit shoddy i admit I guess it may not be being removed but the article made it sound like it is -
Hey all Not a big announcement this. but in the interest of completeness i shall post it anyway http://www.nasuhai.co.jp/news/detail.cgi?n=0051 © Nasu Highlands Nasu Highlands in Japan has announced a new indoor coaster. by the looks of the image above its going to be Ocean Themed. Will be interesting to see what the rides like. but judging by the parks track record i would expect it to be a Meisho ride The article above makes it sound like the parks F2 may be closed for 2009. I seem to remember quite a few people who have visited the park didn't like F2 too much. so probably not a great loss if it is

Nürburgring launched coaster
Gutterflower replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey all I come bearing gifts... mainly pictures of the track scroll down and you will see some pics on this page http://onride.de/viewtopic.php?t=28726&start=475&u-1 very square track New S&S track by the looks of it but unfortunately the track through the building looks fairly flat as expected -
EAS Trade Show

A few other notes. The Premier tower coaster for F1-X sounds like a cross between superman: The escape and the Vekoma Big Air Coasters. The ride is said to be launched down a track and up an 80m tower before the cars rotate so riders plummet face first back down. The Italian job style coaster also at F1-X will be themed to vintage racing cars I must mention this is by no means a complete list. For example we know Vekoma have a mine train opening at Happy Valley Chengdu but there's no mention of it on the EAS page. A few non coaster related notes Happy Valley Shanghai will get a flying island and a Gyro swing from Intamin too -

Hey all coastersandmore have there EAS pages up here http://coastersandmore.de/rides/eas2008/eas2008_1.php Heres what i can deduce from the translation. A quick list of new rides some of which we know about some of which we don't. all rides are assumed to be for 2009 unless stated. 2009 Season Hype...
Gutterflower replied to jason10's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
For me.. although it will be a while till I ride it, it has to be the new Europa Park coaster. Most other rides going up at the moment we can guess how it will feel pretty well based off other rides by the same manufacturer. Mack's never built a ride such as this so i cant wait to see how it turns out. Smooth or rough? intense or forceless? -

Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Hansa Park, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page. Official Park Website Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. A launch and Lift on a single ride is a nice twist (Maverick and Atlantis Adventure being the only others that come to mind) Apparently the lift hill will be completely enclosed as well as some other parts of the ride. This seems to be a bit of a trend this year with Saw, the new EP launched ride and this coaster all having dark ride sections. © Hansa Park Project homepage: http://www.kataplektor.de/ Construction Pictures: http://www.kataplektor.de/bau-blog/fotogalerie/ RCDB: http://www.rcdb.com/ig4075.htm
